plus you don't feel for bad sacrificing geth, as thier bodies are just terminals, none of them really die when you shoot them.

i think the geth will be the key to beating the reapers, perhaps they will give you the numbers needed, i mean in ME1 there was alot but that was only 5% imagin the other 95% WOW

When I got Legion I wanted to question him to see what that piece of crap knows.   All I wanted to do was question him and then deactivate that turd again.

So I start talking to him and he comes off with some "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap.  And says that there is a virus that will wipe them out.  So I am thinking "good" they deserve it for all they did with the Quarians and how what they did to Tali's father.  There was no way in Mass Effect I was going to let him be a teammate, especially after my BFF just got court marshaled for treason for Geth parts.  I didnt trust him and think he only wants to be friendly now just to save the Geth.

And low and behold the freak'n shield came down and he was out.  I didn't want that.  So after regaining my composure from yelling at the TV, I reset my game to before I went to talk to him.

Needless to say I beat ME2 with him still deactivated.   Now with all of these posts praising Legion, I am wondering why no one sees it as a scheme...

Ok I see your problem, your a moron.

First of all, you must really suck if you let Tali get court marshelled

Second, Legion's Geth had nothing to do with Saren, he's actually trying to stop them.

Third, The Quarians attempted Genocide on the geth because they where too short sighted and afraid and the Geth tryed to protect them sleves.

Fourth sceming is an organic concept, Legion cannot sceme he's basicly incapable of lying.

well i think both groups were justified, geth only defended themselves, and the quarians didnt want to use them as slaves, remember the quarians were unaware of how developped the geth truly were. so i can understand both

i wouldn't go that far, the heretic geth were scheming, i think the reason legion was just suprised when he found the heretics were scheming, is because it was against fellow geth.

Actually your wrong they do die, if a Geth has no connection to a hub and you kill his terminal, the 100 unique geth with in him are now gone.

yeah same but i looked at the definition and there was three ways things can be "alive" and one of them was being able to adapt to your surroundings through internal processes, and being able to make abtract ideas not based on what u have seen or learned in your environment, if we make a machine like that would people be ready to accept that as a life?

Tali and the Quarians have it coming.
They tried to play God, and then when they accidentally made something smart, they tried to wipe it out.

Oh, and Tali's father was trying to hack the geth... Again, the quarians try to take down a race who's only crime is existing.

Sorry, Tali, and the rest of the Quarians are not in the right. They are the bad guys when it comes to the Quarian/Geth fiasco.

I'm not sure if anyone said this before, but...

Having Legion testify before the idiots on the counil will forever prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the reapers exist. AIs can not lie, the closes t their code permits to lying would be leaving restricted information out. Even if this doesn't happen I am positive that the Geth will play a huge role in defeating the Reapers in ME3.

Legion is such a cool character. I wish I hadn't waited to so long to unlock him. By the time I did I'd pretty much completed all of the side quests and explored all the systems.

I'm going to unlock him earlier into my second playthrough.

Yes.  They were given life by the quarians and they just go against them like this.

Um, the Geth were curious about their lives. Is that a crime now? That's a reason for trying to destroy an entire race? You can get Legion to replay an old recording to when a Geth first asked its owner, "Creator so and so, does-this-unit-...have a soul?"

It's heartbreaking. Then the damn Quarian acts like an ass and tells it "no, you're only a mechanism". After that, the Quarian's got scared that the Geth would realize they're being used for labor and cheap slavery so they decided to attack first and destroy all the Geth.

Yep, that's all the Geth's fault. <_<

You're forgetting who exiled who here. There's a difference between "Just fighting for survival" and "forcing the rightful owners off of their home world with nowhere else to go." I get your point, but if the Quarians were really losing that badly...I could see some group of the Quarians somewhere (when they were fighting the war on their homeworld) surrendering. If the Geth were really that innocent, they'd have tried to find a peaceful alternative. Quarians see Geth differently...they created them. They are just machines to them. Geth aren't really a race...just machines with powerful AI. Technically, the geth could exist without having a body as they are all just software. The Geth could live peacefully on a single hard drive with power going to it...they wouldn't even need the extranet. Hell, even Legion states that the Geth "Manufacture new hardware when it is needed."

First, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Second, Didn't mean to confuse you. My Shepard went to trail with Tali and was able to pardon her.

Third, I think both sides took it to far. But Genocide is reserved for organic beings.

Fourth, EDI can joke, and the Geth can flank and make battlefield tactical decision to feint and deceive the enemy. Why can't they scheme?

I just wish we had gotten Legion sooner in the game. He's such an amazing character, but you have so little time to get to know him. It makes me want to do a bare minimum Omega 4 run and do the majority of the game after the 'final' mission.

Without Legion, you would be still trapped on the Reaper with no way to kill the core and escape. so without him, you are facing an unlimited swarm of husks and running low on ammo. You should thank him for your life.

And the OP is being racist. not all geth are heretics. maybe if you actually paid attention to what legion said, you would learn a bit before dismissing all geth as mindless killing machines.

Lol I think some of you are really exaggerating a bit, especially Ebosian.. What geth did and such. If you pay attention, the geth that were trying to kill you all this time are "indoctrinated" by reapers and are no longer the original GETH and are called HERETICS. but Legion is GETH. Not affected by the reaper's virus that indoctrinated the geth race as a whole. I'm not praising LEgion or anything but he is one of the characters that I wouldn't want to lose *SPOILER*

in the final battle.

And I am expecting the geth would fight for you in ME3, when you export your save game from ME2, ONLY after you just repurposed the virus to make the geth original again to fight for you against the true enemies such as the reapers. That would be great.

I love Tali but I heard The Geth's tale and I was saddened. The quarian people could've coincided with the Geth and became powerful allies. Instead they rejected them, feared them, and attacked them. Not something I want to repeat. Legion represents his race well. True Geth are good Heretics are Bad. Heretics caused by quarians. Quarians were wrong. Repeations are in order.

The Geth became self-aware. They have sentience, and can think like we do.
They weren't just mindless robots, and the Quarians thought they could completely wipe out all the geth. That is playing God in my eyes.

I think that it was a...sentimentality that Legion does not understand he acted on, and therefore has no logical data as to his reasons for using his armor. People will say that I'm attributing human emotions on Geth, but it's quite obvious that they are much more than they seem.

as a said before they were unaware of that sentience to some extent, they did it to spare the geth from being slaves, not saying the geth were wrong though
