This thing was a serious plot hole for me too but it might have because at this point I had already done all the side quests. But then again this isn't the only plot flaw. For example when you continue your work as a spectre you get no intel, no contacts, no resources, no upgrades.. nothing. In addition you can't even report any of your findings to the council nor the alliance. You are 110% stuck with Cerberus.

to me this was weird, but only because you don't know where "you" are. a bigger problem for me is at the very start of the game, its maybe mentioned or explained in the comics, but why the hell does wilson try to kill you, and who for????

Legion had nothing to do with it, IFF goes whether legion is sold to cerberus or not.

This isn't a plot hole: it's a plot device.

And an incredibly stupid one. Which most plot devices are.

"Please get all main combat related characters off the ship so we can move the plot along: useless characters need dying, and EDI needs a reason to interface with the rest of the ship."

This could have been handled so much simpler, so much easier. But nope! "Everyone, get in a shuttle. Because."

Exactly. It was another case of bad and lazy story telling in this game. But the worst part is that it simply happens at a certain point. While realistic, it's very annoying when a (supposed) RPG forces the next major step in the main story line upon you, instead of letting you decide when to advance further. ME 1 didn't do that, and with all the other dumbing down in ME 2, it's odd that they would now add realism here where it isn't even wanted.

Well, there is one major plot loop screw up. On Horizon, it shows Ashly/Kaiden getting abducted, and at the end they are just fine and talking to you like nothing happened. What is up with that? It doesn't explain anywhere that maybe they are controlled by the collectors, or if they managed to escape some how. Pleas Bioware, don't leave that big of wholes in the story, unless you are going to fill it in SOON.

I think the huge plot-hole is that you can actually breathe without using a helmet while in the collector base which is located in the galactic core. It doesn't make sense... One more!  How the hell did Ashley/Kaidan escaped from the collectors on Horizon? BioWare writers must have smoked something that temporarily decreased their IQ points.

Well, with no oxygen to burn, you couldn't even blow up the whole thing, could you?
I think there was some kind of "ventilation system", the collectors have to breath as well, right?

Now about Ashley/Kaidan, they got "unfrozen" the second the collector ship went away, just like half the colony even though you don't see it.

Ugh, you necroed this post?

You are aware that the collectors only took half of Horizon's colonists right?

All those that you saw in stasis were still alive and I would imagine by the time the collectors were lifting off that stasis wore off.

As for the collector base, it's got a mass effect field around it. Obviously you weren't paying attention because when Shepherd jumps off the derelict reaper anyone that is with him, suddenly has their visors on at that point because the mass effect field got taken down and so he was able to make an elongated jump to the hatch of the Normandy. On the Collector Base he doesn't get such luck because the Mass Effect field is still up.

Sgt. Rupert ran out of supplies again in the mess hall and three people alone can't carry back all the food. They went out to pick up space tacos in the shuttle. It took too long though because Joker was picky with his order and that's when the Collectors struck! That's the canon reason, no more arguing.

Yeah, and to create a decent overhead at the space taco drive-in, the owner had to hire vorcha. Have you ever seen a vorcha make a speedy space taco? No sir! And they always screw up the order.

I thought it was obvious enough that they went shopping for food and face bandages for Garrus :P

To be honest, first time through I was a bit like 'wtf?' when they just randomly left but the reasons to evacuate in case the IFF blows up the Normandy or whatever are sound enough for me to accept.

I'd still like to know where they went though...or maybe it was actually grocery shopping...
