Then here is plan for ya:

Right after you get Legion and activate him go do some random mission.

Then go get HIS mission.

Then you can do any amount of missions BEFORE EDI actually decides that the IFF must be hooked up and crew abducted.

What happened to me was quite complicated but I had the Samara Shadow Broker glitch which I fixed via a savegame editor. The problem is, the save that I fixed had EVERYTHING done so basically I'm stuck having Legion and Samaras Loyalty missions to do, and I just received the message from Edi... So basically theres nothing I can do, if I want to do those missions I have to sacrifice some of the crew? Also, how many do I lose if I do two missions?

Pretty sure you lose half your crew if you do two missions while they are abducted.

I made the same mistake as the OP in that I beat the Reaper IFF mission without first doing the majority of my loyalty missions, so my crew got abuducted and I basically had to choose either my crew or my squad. I chose my squad. Oh well, I was getting tired of Kelly reminding me that I recieved an email after every mission. o.0

Don't try and dock on illium even if you've done all the missions for there since it counts it towards the crew timer, I found this out when i went back there to buy the stuff i didn't have cash for and on the first attempted landing crew got taken, second landing to purchase, tali recruitment, tali loyalty get to the collector base and half the crew were dead

Was not a happy bunny since i had to reload and eventually do it with tali unloyal (didn't use her as the tech/squaddie so she survived)

Up until this recent playthrough i was able to do about 2 missions and not lose any crew to the goo. For some reason this time I lost half of them and the only mission i did was Tali's loyalty. (It is much fun taking legion with you to talis two missions.) I did stop at the shadow broker base and did some mining and last minute upgrades which could be the problem but i have done some upgrades post kidnapping and not had a problem with it before

I think getting all loyal was pretty much easy... I didnt get any hard time doing it... But I screwed my crew, damn... I dont know if I go back 9 hours of gameplay or replay at insanity with the first playthrough...
