been a pc gamer forever, consoles have enver been as good and are there for ease of use., thats is all. If you want better graphics, better sound, better resolutions and cheaper games then buy a MORE EXPENSIVE gaming platform first.
Is this the way to fight piracy?

first off this is a game. noone should pass up with as deep and fun it has been so far.
pirating on the 360 is gonna get you banned on xbl. ask all the pirated Borderlands, Forza, DA, and MW2 pirates. Microsoft knows and is cracking down on it.
however buy the game, support the developers. this one is worth paying for

There is a very simple reason why the console versions are more expensive compared to the PC version - The console manufacturer's cuts. In addition, since pirating is so prevalent on the PCs, game makers can't afford to charge "too much" for PC games or gamers will simply pirate them. It's easy to justify stealing something if you feel that it's not worth the asking price.
Bioware made the right move. They provided plenty of exclusive benefits for people that went out a bought a retail version of the game. DLC from launce and bonus in game items. This game is in my top 5 of all time and is well worth the asking price.
To Bioware: Can I get job please?

Console games always cost $10 more. Always. Realize that, for the longest time, console manufacturers were loosing money on every console they sold. It was costing them more to make the Xbox360 and PS3 than they were selling it for. They recoup these costs on the sale of the games. Also realize that all games are developed on PCs, even if they are a console only release. The games are then converted to the console format.

Well, I'm playing the
game, and loving it, for a few days now. But as I had 3 characters
created since CC was available for download, I started 3 games and did
3 openings. Human male 2handed warrior, Elf male rogue/archer and Human
female mage. But I am in love with all 3 of them and cannot
decide which one to play while the others rest until next
playthrough... damn... they're all amazing chars and the opening really
made me care for each of them so much!Should I start a Dwarf and leave the other 3 for the replay? Should I play the 3 at the same time? (a bit impractical IMHO).I could also try the remaining 3 openings since I have another issue, related to another thread on this forum... bear with me:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I want all the DLC I can get my hands on, specially the free ones for purchasing the game. Now,
I was dying to play this game since the big failure of NWN2 and its
completely screwed up mplayer for over 1 year past release... DA was
release on the 3rd on many countries, scheduled for the 6th in Brazil
and other countries too...I tried a digital download of the
Deluxe edition as that was possible on the 3rd in my country and I got
a big failure because, after I had paid for it on EA Brazil website,
which online store is actually handled by EA Swiss, I had to get a EA
download manager that does not work under Windows 7 Ultimate 64
plataform!!!! So I could not download the product and there was no
"delivery" of the goods. Then, all the trouble I have had to cancel the
order and invalidate the credit card debt with EA. Their cancelation
link on their support page does not work and just opens the FAQ page
instead... Very clever... but in the end I emailed so many EA addresses
that I got their attention and I guess the order is cancelled (I did
not receive any confirmation but I cancelled it with the c/c company as
well, so it's all good).Well, today is the 6th and first thing
in the morning I was calling up several mega stores to check if they
have the CE Box or even the regular one... Nope.. nada... none of
them...I called EA Brazil, sales department and was informed
that due to some production problems, game will hit the shelves only on
the 13th... so I whine a bit to the guy and said "don't delay more than
that otherwise you'll lose a lot of sales since the game in on the
internet for free and I am already playing it!" The guy laughed his ass
off because he knows that is true but it won't prevent a huge sale
outcome here. I've also said that I'm a registered Bioware products
owner since 2002 (actually since 1998 with BG1 but on their website
since 2002) and I want to be able to make my official registration, get
the DLC awards, be reckon online as a legit owner with my key
registered on the website, get full support, patches, etc. Thanks
to someone who probably bought the game, cracked it and made it
available on the internet, I am already playing the game, waiting for
the legit serial to go online with it and enjoy what that brings and
also support a company whose I am a customer for he past 11 years
now... plus all the positive advertisement I make on gaming forums in
my tongue, from my country, might persuade some undecided to get the
game. Can anyone really call me a pirate? I could have bought the
game on a copied DVD from a stand in the street, like I posted before.
That indeed would make me accessory to a crime.Oh, due to
whatever little influence I have, along with my wife's, due to our
position here, EA will be delivering the CE editon box reserved to me
to the store I chose from their major customer list. They don't do
direct sales to final customers ever! I can't wait!

Exactly. The extra price of console games goes directly to the console manufacturer's. It's one of the reasons that, even though I own a PS3 and used to own a 360, I buy most of my games for my PC. I refuse to pay extra money for the same game just because they use their hardware as loss leaders.
(The other reason is that the input devices and user interfaces are vastly superior with PCs. About the only games I buy for my console systems are sports games. The console controller works very nicely for those.)

I'm pretty sure nobody is forcing you to download side-quests. If it were part of the main questline they were selling, I'd agree with you. But it's not, so I don't.
