Yes I agree with all of this. I use 1680x1050 resolution and while its quite readable it still strains my eyes a lot. With NWN2 I had to download bigger fonts mod to make it readable at 1680x1050 and now DAO makes the same mistake again with the font scaling. I can't even imagine how small the font is for 1900x1200 users!
Please Bioware make patch or give use instructions how to change the font size!

Is there no such thing as a Dragon Age tuning page or some ini files like in Mass Effect or Fallout, that you can play around with and change stuff?!

I can only add myself to the crowd, I'd really love some "text size" slider in a future patch. It would make my eyes happy after those all-day-long-straight-to-the-late-night gaming sessions (yes this game isn't really immersive at all
)

Only 18 signatures at this point. Come on people, I gather not all RPG-players have eagle eye vision?

I'll add my vote to larger font size options. I also play at 1920x1200 with a view toward 2560x1600 next year. Imagine trying to read this game's text on that monster! As it is I have to sit rather close to my screen to read codex entries. And no, I'm not going to reduce the resolution; I got this screen to play games at hi-res, after all. Have no trouble reading NWN1 text; so some on guys, give us the same or similar option for DA:O.
Thanks.

I would like to enjoy the game in the resolution that suits my system capabilities whilst still being able to read text without squinting.
Please add a scaleable font or even better a scaleable UI.
Actually give us PC users those secret files for mid to high end PC's so we can bathe in the yumminess of DA:O.

My 13" laptop is 1600x900, or 140 dpi. The OS has been set to 140 dpi, which scales all the fonts nicely to the size they should be. Except in Dragon Age: Origins, which disregards the OS DPI setting, and uses bitmap fonts without alternatives as if it was still 1995.
The fonts are what we in the publishing industry call flyspeck.

Yep, pretty weak here. I tried playing at 2048x1536. Graphics worked fine, fonts were impossible to read on my 22" monitor. Luckily, it's an old CRT so I just dumbed it down to 1600x1200 but it's sad that I had to do that. Microsoft got serious about large fonts for a very good reason and made sure all the developers knew about it. How did BioWare miss it??
P.S. Those online petitions are a joke, IMHO.

at 2560x1600 the game looks great but I cannot read anything on my 30". At lower res I can read just fine but everything is smeared and fuzzy. Please BioWare... Add a UI scale slider.

I could also use this -- playing the game on a 40" hdtv and I had to turn the res down. Helped a bit...

Please note that a game can never use the OS's font scalability when it does not have a scalable user interface. If it would, the fonts would break outside the GUI boundaries. The easiest option is a slider to enlarge fonts in the codex, journal etc, so just the scrollbars will be longer.
Or better yet, have a scalable user interface, but I doubt that this can be done now without rewriting / redesiging a lot of stuff.

I agree, was sad to see the font was tiny and this game lacked the xml file controlling the fonts like nwn2 had.
