Hey I was I was wondering which passive class power other people chose for their squadmates. I'm having some difficulty deciding which one is best for my own squadmates. Here's the list of what I decided and why.
Shepard (soldier)- Shock Trooper for the extra Paragon/Renegade gain
Jacob- Cerberus Veteran for the extra health
Miranda- Cerberus Tactician for the health bonus to squad
Mordin- Salarian Genius because he's got low health and isn't a big damage dealer rather a tech user so better to buff his shields
Garrus- Turian Survivor because I'm sick of him getting killed without it.
Jack- Primal Adept because she's all about biotics and the cooldown time is a killer
Tali- Haven't done yet but thinking of Quarian Engineer for health boost for same reason as Mordin
Grunt- Can't decide which as he is an already formidable tank so is Pureblood overkill or not and is the extra weapon damage worth it?
Samara- Sapiens Justicar as her biotics abilities are her strongest suit
Thane- Drell Assassin as the increase in weapons damage outweighs the health benefits of the other and besides he's an assassin.
Legion-Haven't used him much yet so don't really know which is better.
If I could get some input it would be really appreciated.
Which passive class power did you choose to evolve for your squadmates?

I far exceeded my Paragon matter, so I retrained my skills and chose the other, for Soldier.

Always the one that made them do more damage

why more damage? Especially with Jack she's a pure biotic wouldn't it be better to have her have better biotics abilities rather than better damage with her guns?

I'll tell you what I choose for my mates. People always talk about builds for their characters, but never mention how they like to level up their teammates. I've always been curious what others did, so here's what I do:
Shepard: It depends on the class. If I'm playing an offensive class like Soldier or Infiltrator, I go for the more offensive style ability. So for example, when I play Soldier I go Commando over Shock Trooper, because my point as a Soldier is to kill as quickly as possible. With the more defensive classes it depends, but I haven't gotten around to playing most of those yet so I'll see in time.
Miranda: I choose whichever better compliments my Shepard. So if I'm going an offensive build that mainly relies on guns for damage like Soldier I'll go with Cerberus Leader. Then on the flip side if I'm going with a class that doesn't need to focus on weapon damage as much (Adept, Sentinel) then the other one sounds more appealing to me.
Jacob: I generally go with Cerberus Veteran as I figure it makes for better synergy with Barrier. It helps to try and set him up as a mini tank, though he's not great at even doing that. I honestly could go either way, and at the end of the day it doesn't matter much to me. I rarely use him for combat except for being forced to use him at the beginning of the game and for his loyalty misson.
Mordin: Salarian Genius every time. Doesn't matter what class your Shepard is, you want Mordin supporting you with his powers not his weapon damage. At the least, the shields help to keep him alive longer, which is more important in the long run.
Garrus: I go with Turian Renegade. Just looking at his abilities he's meant for attacking, so why not add a damage boost to go along with his assualt rifle/sniper rifle and armor-piercing ammo. I like Garrus generally sitting back sniping while doing as much damage as he can, while supporting with Overload and Concussion Shot. I usually don't max Armor Piercing with him, so anything to add to his damage output helps.
Grunt: You can probably go either or and be good, but I like Krogan Pureblood myself. I think of Grunt as my tank, so adding something to help him have better overall survivability seems good to me. With this and Fortification, Grunt just sits on the front lines taking it while I support him with powers or picking off what he weakens. I'd maybe conisider Krogan Warloard if I'm playing a more defensive class like Engineer or Sentinel as it allows him to kill what you weaken. I generally play offensive based classes, which is why I said I like Krogan Pureblood more in general.
Jack: Primal Adept every time. Anything to help her cast powers as quickly as possible is great. I like to have her as more supporting with Pull and Shockwave, then actually doing big damage with Warp Ammo and Shotgun. Having her able to use her powers faster is far more crucial to me then any weapon damage she could achieve.
Samara: Sapiens Justicar every time. Same case follows as for Jack, you want her using her powers to help you as quickly as possible. Reave is up there with Warp in utility, and you want to be using it as much as possible.
Thane: I go with Drell Marksman. Kind of the same as with Garrus, I want him sitting back and supporting me with a combination of abilites and sniping. Having him kill things as fast as possible is generally more useful then him having an increased amount of health.
Tali: Always go with Quarian Engineer. Her weapon damage isn't good by any stretch of the imagination, most of the damage from her come from the drone or through AI Hacking so you might as well buff the time limits if you can.
Legion: You can kind of go either way with this, but I prefer to go with Geth Assassin. When you get the Widow onto him, you want him doing as much damage as he can with it. Honestly though, he already does so much damage with the Widow that I could understand going with the increased health to go along with Geth Shield Boost. For me though I generally have him supporting from a far with his Shield up, widow out, and a combat drone harrassing somebody while he's sniping baddies. The Widow is what makes him so nasty in my opinion (otherwise you might as well just use Tali, unless you love Geth Shield that much), so boosting its damage seems good to me.
Zaeed: You could probably go either or, but I lean toward Mercenary Warlord. Looking at his abilities, he's meant for damaging so I figure I might as well add to it.
Shepard: It depends on the class. If I'm playing an offensive class like Soldier or Infiltrator, I go for the more offensive style ability. So for example, when I play Soldier I go Commando over Shock Trooper, because my point as a Soldier is to kill as quickly as possible.
