Yeah, a lot of things and characters did in ME2. :/ But when it comes to Joker, I don't really mind. ^_^ The only thing I mind is that the story of how he and Chakwas got recruited is so vague. It just seems so strange that they would just trust Cerberus out of the blue.

I mind because of just his legs being fragile, his entire body is now. In ME1 he explicitly states that his legs never fully developed and that they are "basically hollow".

Come ME2 he's fracturing his thumb on the mute, breaking a rib (or all of them) and his arm can't handle shepard tugging on it.

Seriously, he now is a china man.

Concering Chakwas and Joker being recruited by Cerberus: I was wondering about this too - they were both on the first Normandy and they know from the reports and stories from Shepard and the squad what creepy experiments Cerberus did and still they joined them.

Even with Cerberus telling them about their efforts to resurect Shepard I would imagine them to react like "What the hell? Are they going to make a husk out of Shepard?" and not "Ah great, then we have Shepard back, good thing".

And I really want to know when exactly Joker and Chakwas decided to go to Cerberus - did Chakwas decided to follow Joker (maybe he mentioned it and maybe they were on the same station - Chakwas was on a mars station I believe and Joker only says he was grounded) before they joined Cerberus? Joker seems to be at last for a year part of Cerberus and Chakwas only tells Shepard that she works for Shep and not for Cerberus - that always give me the feeling that Chakwas joined Cerberus only recently.

Thats true - in ME1 it only seemed to be a problem with his legs and nothing more - despite that this disease normally affects the whole body. But in ME2 it is stated for the first time that the rest of the body is fragile too - well it could be a joke from him telling that he broke his thumb.

Really strange is the end of the SM; even with broken ribs due to the crash of the Normandy he was able to fire a gun as if he had did so long before.... well I am not a weapon expert, but shouldn't be there some kind of repulsion? And I can't imagine Joker training with weapons, but maybe he is a natural talent and I won't complain about his help anyway.

So, I get the feeling the writers were not so consequent concerning Jokers disease or they wanted to show that Cerberus really improved Jokers condition and that there is hope for further treatment. Or Joker is sometimes really joking about having injuries - just to scare others and to make fun of his disease himself before others could do this

I really took those comments, those like fracturing his thumb, or breaking his arm at them, in jest. I think they must have realised it didn't make sense, but wanted to add them in for comedy value. That, or they were trying to put across him taking a jokey attitude to his disability etc. which definitely fits his character.

-clears throat- when drinking with chakwas you can talk to her more on why she is there and she says "joker... jeff... will always need me I know he doesn't want to admit it but it's true" or something along those lines because he gives her some sort of stability in her life along with shepard. Joker on the other hand he says he was grounded meaning he couldn't fly witch probably is due to the fact he didn't follow orders.

Now it seemed to me that cerberus went to him asking him to work for them. Which he probably denied but then they add he can fly again, get updated braces, and have you old commander back.... which he probably feels like he owes shepard a lot since he/she saved him and died doing so. I don't know about you but I would go with them and then he probably either said they need chakwas or that was part of the bargaining .... I am only guessing

Okay, yeah, it did ****** me off that he was breaking bones here and there in ME2, despite having told us that his legs were the problem. But the thing about OI is that it affects the whole body, so it technically isn't wrong. Still annoys me though. :/

My problem with the whole Joker and Chakwas coming to Cerberus is not the fact that they joined, but that we're never told how they were approached, when they joined, or why. Did Cerberus flat out tell them that they were bringing Shepard back? That seems unlikely, and stupid considering the risks. So how? Why? When? Can we have a comic about it...? Please?!

EDIT: Regarding Joker and choosing flying over Shepard. I think, for him, it would be an impossible choice, but that if Shepard was the one to demand he stop flying, that he would take distance from her. On the other hand, I don't think Shepard would ever force Joker to give up his freedom. If she loves him, she'll accept that flying is the one thing she can never compare to. I'm sure she has her own vices anyway.

Well I have heard of Turians being referred to as avian but I can't remember if it was because of their bone structure or the way their joints move.

Edit: Thats the first time I seen it called glass bone syndrom.

It was Brittle bone disease. Glass is brittle, Joker himself calls them glass bones, you get the idea.

I just don't remeber Jeff reffering to them as glass bones but its been a long time since I talked to him about his condition.

I do have to say that glass in some ways actually sounds stonger that his brittle bones though. It just depends on what sort of force you are talking about. For example you wack a glass bone aginst a table top like your swinging a bat it might break (thought it may ony chip and fracture) or you could build a 200 pound glass skeleton and the glass imitating the leg bones could hold the 180+ pounds that are exerted on it by the upper portion.

But i'm boreing you with tech theroies now and I don't know glass well enough to give real specs only guestimations.

@Eliantariel, Yes today's guns have recoil and its harshness depends on its caliber and size and design. I don't know what the Mass Effect guns are like since they are a theoretical weapon.

@NamiraWilhelm, Fracturing his thumb on the mute for example is a joke using his condition as a catalyst. I don't know much about OI but I was under the impression his legs didn't develop correctly meaning something about physical shape/form and the rest of the body developed better in shape/form but are not as strong as they should be. Also my analysis indicates that that due to the bipedal shape of the human bod the legs are more prone to harm because the natural stress from the body's weight. Then add to that my theory that his leg bones are not the correct shape which puts more stress on the structure thus increasing the risk for leg fractures from going to use the head for example.

Well, come to think of that - Joker always seems to be well informed about everything that goes on the ship.

Maybe he already know about Sheps feeling for him:

Shepard: Ahm, Joker, well there is something I have to tell you...

Joker: Not necessary - I know you love me.

Shepard: Ah.. wait you... what??

Joker: Well - how could you not? I *am* awesome - that's for sure - *and* I have this quite astonishing hat which makes me look reallllly hot and..

Shepard: .. yeah ok I got it - thanks for making fun of me.

Joker: From my point of view I was just helping you - keeping you on distance so you could concentrate on the mission.

Shepard: Oh yes - the "so, come here too often?" comment from you was always my favourite

Joker: See? And do not forget: you have been dead - and I've seen so many zombie movies that I really had to make sure that you don't get creepy suddenly ... well but thinking about it, *deadly* would fit perfectly so...wait - why are your eyes glowing red? Why didn't I see this before? And why are you staring so angrily at me...

*to be continued*

LOL I like that.

I had wanted my face to darken the eyes of the community, but it would have been too much work and I haven't eaten anything since noon. It's now midnight where I am.

Stupid winter, getting me sick, removing my already rare appetite.

Wikipedia says;
"History and alternative names

The condition, or types of it, have had various other names over the years and in different nations. Among some of the most common alternatives are Ekman-Lobstein syndrome, Vrolik syndrome, and the colloquial glass-bone disease."

Though you should be careful with facts from wikipedia since anyone can edit there ;)

Indeed, wikipedia can be misleading. You should stick the the Wikis, much more accurate.

Yea it wouldn't I didn't read something in what I copied, it wasn't an image lol.

But I think that code should post a image directly here. I will note however only post clean pics that way or you will invoke the godly powers of the moderators. If you want to share a non-clean pic I think a link and a warning is ok but don't quote me on it.
