Totally supporting this! Joker is one of my favorites, if not my #1 favorite. I totally relate to him since we're both pilots.
First off, I think that Joker has to be the most logical romance option for femShep, period. I don't just throw this out there, either. Sure, the other characters are definitely feasible, but if you really
look at it, it just doesn't make sense that the developers haven't given us a Jokermance.
For everyone's sake, I won't totally re-iterate what has already been posted on the 143 pages of this thread, but I will post some points I feel are important to consider:
1.) Shepard (paragon, at least) took the time to understand him in ME1, and Joker totally felt like an a** when he made the assumption that she wanted to harass him about his illness. He's loyal to her because she looked beyond that and recognizes him for who he is. It seems to me he feels like he doesn't have to prove himself to her.
2.) Shepard puts his safety first at the beginning of ME2, leading to her death. That has to mean more to him than just, "Woah, I saw you get spaced!" I mean, come on, the guy was obviously upset that she got blasted out into space.
3.) He voluntarily joined Cerberus, and was the only member of her crew to do so
before she came back to life. He was the only former crew member that even knew about the possibility she could come back. Something tells me he did some digging to find out where her body was and found out about Lazarus...and why would he do that unless he cared? (Okay, yes, maybe the Illusive Man found him because he needed a pilot, but I still say TIM wouldn't have been able to convince Joker to join Cerberus if Joker only cared about flying. In addition, TIM didn't trust the loyalty of any of Shepard's other crewmates, but he
did trust Joker...this makes it seem like Joker has a very strong loyalty to Shepard, no matter where she goes.)
Given all of this, I can totally see where an attraction to Shepard could come from. Joker would obviously follow Shepard to hell and back (oh wait, he already has...
twice), why not take it one step further? Not even Kaidan would stand beside Shepard in her fight against the Collectors because she was doing it with Cerberus, and he's supposed to be the *ultimate* romance option. Bah.
For her part, Shepard would definitely entertain the possibility of romance with Joker. She was obviously very happy to see him at the beginning of ME2, and he provides a link back to the "good old days" before she died.
If anything else, the set-up is too perfect. No one suspects the crippled kid would become the most s***-hot pilot in the galaxy, just like no one suspects that he'd ever get the most BA and famous chick in the galaxy. Man, I'm sure all the kids who made fun of him in school would eat their words. Joker probably wouldn't have a problem rubbing it in their faces, either, I bet.
As for EDI, she's an AI, but not an emotional intelligence. She's programmed to get an emotional response from others, but not necessarily with any emotions of her own. I don't think she'd ever be able to "feel" anything for Joker. As a pilot myself, I know that we have special relationships with our mounts (be they airplanes or starships), and we even love them. I have a fondness for my airplane that I can't express in words, but it's not my boyfriend by any stretch, even if it learned how to talk and tell jokes. Heck, even Seth Green lamented in his BW interview for ME2 that his only romance was "with the computer." Lol.
So, BioWare, please let me have my pilot so he can fly me away in his starship! Nothing could be more romantic than that.
