I agree Sorrel.
You know it would be cool for us but somewhat cruel for others if BW's intention was just to make Joker the only romance option in ME3 considering how they make Joker seam more interested in Shepard.
And the best part is just like Liara he hasn't died yet in the series, so Bioware might just put him into the romance category. REally makes your think huh?

I would love to see some dialogue between Chakwas, Shepard and Joker or Dr. Chakwas speaking with Shepard about Joker, maybe sensing some attraction between both and trying to help them getting together... I think Shepard would rather speak with Chakwas about Joker concerning "advice" than with Mordin, because Chakwas knows both Joker and Shepard longer and better than Mordin.
And I would love to see a scene where Shepard is wounded and/or unconscious and treated by Dr. Chakwas - of course with a worried Joker (or other LI) at her side. Of course more dramatic than in ME1 and a good situation for the always cool Joker to slip a comment that shows that he really cares for Shepard.

I dunno I fully expect the Virmire survivor LI to get killedededed quite dead in ME3. I could deal with this if Joker was a romancey thing. You know.
Bioware (Hudson) said that the VS is important for ME3 (like Liara), so we can expect that he/she has a great influence on the main story. But I don't think that Bioware will kill one or more LIs - if they do so with one LI they must do it with all LIs, otherwise it wouldn't be fair.
And I can't see Bioware heading to this very dark ending. There will be tough decisions and maybe someone has to die again, but I think there will be a way like in ME2 that everyone or nearly everyone survives. For those who like the more darker "sacrifice and everyone dies" end, I am sure that Bioware will include such an alternative ending as well, but not force the player to get to this ending.
A romanceable Joker would so totally worth everything, I would sacrifice every other character for him.

I think it is sad that Dr. Chakwas hadn't more dialogue with Shepard. At least she could have said something after each mission.

I love when logic works out to our benefit! This would be so cool if it happened...
THIS. If this is not in the game (and maybe even if it is) somebody should write a fanfiction of this.Eliantariel wrote...

I love this idea so hard I am actually grinning IRL right now.
Also the comment slippage. Love it.

YES! That totally makes tons of sense. I love Chakwas. I especially loved getting drunk with Chakwas in ME2, that was a hoot. She was passed out on a biobed.

But unfortunately it is only Kasumi commenting on this. Even Joker doesn't say something about this, but he surely knows it. He could have said something like " Hey Shepard, by the way, the next time you plan to get drunk on the ship let me know before doing so - I could use some variety here - you know, sitting here the whole day pressing sometimes a button or two".
So I was wondering if Joker sometimes (day-) dream about Shepard?
Maybe about her new dress (thanks to Kasumi):

Or is he worried sometimes about Shepard (although I suppose he would never admit it)?

You just killed me with first picture. Presumably true
Don't you guys think Chakwas is a little bit too old? I love her of course, she is loyal, I enjoyed getting drunk with her, and it's nice from her that he joined Cerberus, despite their actions in past, for Shepard. But I doubt she would be into such affairs. Like Samara.

As for Joker and how to get into a romance like that, I'm not sure I like the idea of Shepard and Joker being pushed into each other by their caring comrades. They're both adults, and they both have a good head on their shoulders. They should know when the right time is to follow your heart.
But to be quite honest, as long as I get a romance with Joker, I almost don't care HOW they do it. If I don't like it, I'll remedy their attempts with my fanfiction. 8D

Sometimes friendship and trust are more important than sexing. I support more dialog and bonding with the guy, certainly, but not romance.

Not sure i agree with the creating more conflict, that never stopped Shep getting with Ash/Kaidan or any of her random squadmates. Its unprofessional, but it doesnt stop them.

True, but still, can't there be awesome dialog without it eventually leading to the aforementioned ugly-bumping?
Eh, I shouldn't complain, since I can just NOT romance him...

I see your point, but I don't see why he absolutely has to be in that role. I mean, if he gets romanced, there's plenty of others on board that can step into that "friend" role.
Chakwas romanceable...hm. Maybe she could do the cougar thing, but I don't know. She seems to have a much more youthful, adventurous side...like she's a retired MI-6 or something, lol. I don't know, maybe I'm just being silly.

My favourite things about the romances were the sweet dialogue, not the bedroom scenes.
Well only ME1 really had a bedroom scene, in ME2 it was...

I mean, I would think it would cause even less.
Joker's not much of a guy for rules, I don't think. He gives me the impression of someone who just lets things he sees as harmless things slide. He seems almost on an equal level with Shepard, the whole direct 'subordinate' like Kaidan/Ashley were aspect of their relationship doesn't seem to be there. Kaidan saluted and called her Ma'am, Joker just kind of goes 'Sup Commander, what's good for chillin' today?'
