Aw, I don't know about that... I get why he'd be reticent and not think of her romantically in the first two games, seeing her with another guy... I do think Joker should only be an option if the player ends any other active relationships they have, but other than that, why punish forever the Shepards who previously tried to content themselves with the kind of guy they can sleep with? I have a single character, but my Thane-loving Shepard who didn't romance Kaidan might be pretty damned lonely if Thane dies of Kepral's syndrome. It's like, SAVE HER FROM HER SORROW, JOKER. SAVE HER WITH THE HEALING POWER OF-- Right? Right?

Honestly, loving someone who's dying is easier than loving someone you think you have forever with. You're going to put your selfish impulses aside a lot more readily. And after it's over, you're going to be lonely--who better to try something with than somebody you've known a long time, somebody you trust and know will be there? But any Shepard could easily make a mistake of the heart, too... fall for someone she's not suited for, or fall for someone she can't keep, and then be left to sort out how wrong she was. And then in the process of that, maybe she realizes the guy who's always been at her side is pretty damned awesome.

The nice thing is, who is like Joker in the game? Nobody! So loving a second time is definitely not going to be one of those sublimation things. You don't go after one of your best longtime friends  and crewmates unless you're pretty freakin' sure you're not gonna screw it up. And maybe that, more than anything else, explains the current vibe between Joker and Shepard--neither of them is sure it could work, especially not while he's still got that bone problem, so they keep everything platonic because it would only screw things up if they tried it right now.

I so agree with you on this.  Joker is too awesome as a character, too much fun to have around--I love him so much that I'll take whatever they throw our way. For that matter, I'd like to set Dr. Chakwas up with something... some kind of medal and public recognition for all she's done in your service. I want her to find a nice younger man to hook up with. (NOT Joker, I mean seriously, I can't see her with him. She should be with a buff, conventionally handsome guy.)

That is a fantastic way of looking at it! I always love when you post your insight, it gets me all hopped up for Joker related things! Now I wanna work on my fanfic...and comic...ARGH. But yeah, you really put that into a really good perspective ang I really like that idea. It'd be really interesting to see it played out that way.

THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!  I'd love to see Joker's reaction to that, 'Oh hey Joker, *coughITOTALLYLOVEYOUcough* I found a cure for Vrolik's that doesn't involve your liver failing!' Anything I'd take, anything, I just want Bioware to know that we love this character so much that we're willing to be happy with a broadened friendship!  (PLEASE DON'T USE THAT AS AN EXCUSE TO KEEP OUT JOKERMANCE NOW! D:)

Being able to reward ANYONE for helping you out sounds pretty awesome, but first people I'd reward would be, hands down, Joker and Chakwas. God I LOVE Chakwas, even though she doesn't have much to say, I always run into the medbay to say hi to her!  I hope in the next game that you can drink with Chakwas again, that'd be so awesome, hell, I hope you can have a drink with your entire crew in the mess hall (or the lounge that they need to desperately put in!)

As for Chakwas getting with someone, Chakwas and Anderson sounds interesting, I've also heard whispers of Chakwas and Zaeed, that pairing sounds lulzy as hell:

Zaeed: "Did I ever tell you about this one mission I did, where we had to run in and kill some guy and blow **** up?"
Chakwas: -throws arms in air- "THAT WAS AWESOME!"

If you don't want to get noticed, then why are you spamming every Joker fan club and creating multiple threads?  If you want to concentrate the efforts, then you don't divide them into multiple threads.  You're confusing people.  If a person sees a thread with 16 pages and a five star rating, they may take a look at it.  If they see a thread with zero stars and 6 posts, they're going to ignore it.  The more empty threads they see, the more they're going to think that Joker fans are idiots and spammers.  You're not helping anyone by spreading everything so thin.

If you really want to improve on the first post, then improve on the first post.  There's an edit button there for a reason.  Go ahead, go back to the first post and click "edit."  You can add all sorts of information there that would help out our cause, since that's the first thing people are going to see.

I don't know what you mean by spam sense I don't use forums that much and I don't really care. I wasn't spamming anything. I could careless.  All I was thinking was promoting Joker sense I looked at the Tali fanatics and saw how they set up there threads. I figured I would do the same for Joker and I like the way it turned out.. I was thinking positive and all I got was a negative out come. You poo holes! 

Now I hope Joker does get with EDI!

Way to be mature about this. Look, we appreciate having a Joker romance thread. But having a bunch of threads isn't really going to help things much. IIRC, the main Tali Romance thread got up to over 300 pages. So if that's what BioWare responds to, it's best to keep our efforts a little more focused here on the forums. We're all here for the same reason, and bickering about crap like this is kind of a waste of time.

So let's move on, shall we?

New topic for discussion: anyone have ideas for scenes/dialogue they'd like to see in a Joker/Shep romance? I, for one, have this idea of an awesome final cutscene. The Reapers are dead/destroyed, Shepard and Co are Big Damn Heros, etc. The Normandy's in orbit around some planet or something. Shepard walks up to the bridge and stands behind Joker and puts her hand on his shoulder. Joker reaches up and grabs her hand, then asks "Where to, Commander?" Cue Shepard looking out into space, smiling, and then cut to end credits.

...okay, typed out it seems kinda silly. But in my head it looks awesome.

Creating multiple threads is not going to help your cause. Being able to get across your arguement in a mature, responsible and insightful manner is what is going to be benefical to your cause. Right now all this is doing is creating negative attention and Bioware is more likely to ignore your requests. Like Melissa said, couldn't you have modifed the first post to look the same way as you did in the new thread and avoided making a new one entirely? Why create a divide when you all should be gunning for the same cause? Why on earth would you want the threads shut down? Isn't that counter-productive? I'm not sure what it is exactly that you're trying to accomplish.

Calling people "poo holes" doesn't really strike me as a mature thing to do. I understand that you may feel like people are ganging up on you, but I'm sure there's a better way to go about this then resulting in calling people childish names.

So this post isn't completely off topic, I just wanted to add my support for the Jokerites of the world. I hope he gets more air time in the next game!

Wow, you ignore a thread for a couple o' 12 hours......

I'm going to ignore it for another 12 hours and enjoy the day with my family, see a movie, and maybe try to sling shot myself around the sun and see if I can figure out just what went so horribly wrong...



I'll just say this - joining a group doesn't mean group members can tell other members what to post, when or how. You do not give up your individual freedom by joining. Second, if you are going to post a bunch of stuff from a group site, at least ASK the people who put it up in group first.

All problems can be solved if people just display simple courtesy towards others - you wouldn't like it if someone told you what to post and how nor would you like it if someone took work you made and splashed it about in a way you didn't feel comfortable with.



@ Rhia, I like that little image you had, too! A shoulder squeeze and a smile would be awesome at any point in the game.

Be good guys - maybe eat something healthy take a a quick jog and shake off the yucky feelings.

I should not be laughing at this nearly as much as I am. I think it's mostly because I now have a mental image of Shepard arguing with another crew member within earshot of Joker, and then all of a sudden hearing ::crack::  ::thud:: "OH GOD MY LEGS OW."

Don't get me wrong.  I appreciate what you've done here.  I really like having the Joker thread available for all Mass Effect fans to drop by and leave a comment.  It's awesome.

I was just thinking of the comical relief he would probably still have at the whole romance game. I also picture EDI eves dropping and interrupting a moment like Joker was in the clip on the crew deck of the SR-1 Normandy when it was grounded at the citadel.

Silly poo that was the idea, to create a better thread then the one I already had. I don't mind using the same one, but I have been studying other ones and from the bottom of my newly ME cyber nerd heart. I though I was doing something nice for everyone. Thats all I've been saying and you just keep putting it down.

Sorry I posted your art and I wasn't spamming. I got upset because you were putting words on my email another example words in my mouth. I think this group is fun and I've enjoyed readying everyones writing. I just don't put people down for them trying to do something nice thats all I'm trying to say and I have been paying attention. If I make another with others art and stuff I will run it  by you and ask if I can use it. Besides I still think its a nice thread. It took me a few hours to make it.  We could always use it for later if this one runs out so no big deal. Holla At ya boy.! Besides I don't know how to delete the things anyway. Woooh!

I also have this idea in my head (that I will probably use in my fanfic but would LOVE to see in the game) That Shepard is trying to get to know him better and he suddenly realises what she is doing and panics. I mean he probably doesn't think she is good enough for him and her actually showing interest would freak him out, itd be devestating, cute and hilarious all at the same time. It'd be just like a (OMG NO WAY) REAL relationship, people don't fall in love in 4 conversations, they get to know each other first and the fact that these two have nown each other for so long lends credibility to that.

I don't know if he'd think she wasn't good enough for him-- it actually might be the other way around. "Wait, she's Commander Shepard and she's hitting on me, the snarky crippled pilot? WTF?"

I totally agree that the fact that they've known each other for so long would make a romance so much more believable. The four conversations then sex model always felt rushed. Not sure if it's better in ME2, I haven't played with anyone besides my main Shepard so I haven't tried out any of the romance options. There's a lot more opportunity for talking, though, so it seems like there'd be an improvement. Having gone through so much together, as opposed to just a bunch of conversations, would make things so much better.
