If Joker was to be squaddy. The Mordin would have to survive. I think that would be the only way really to find a cure for his disease. Otherwise Joker wouldn't get it. OR maybe if Shepard is a renegade and you save the base than the Illusive man's willing to pay for the experiments to fix him for you. No offense to the council and the alliance, but they don't really have the funding to fix our awsome joker man.
