Also, I'd do something for page 200, but my last attempts at drawing ended badly. Unless I can figure out how to get his model out of the PC version and into 3DS, You're on your own.

If you figure that out you will need to PM me asap!

I think joker is more of a butt man in my opinion. Heres the reason why. It won't hurt him so much in the long run.

Also wanted to give this quote of my Femshep to Joker. Its right after Horizon mission when she says. "Your the force which pulls it all together."Posted Image

Hey guys, I think I came up with a legit discussion topic after a conversation with Trapper. Maybe it will make a good topic, worthy of our 200th page.

I have realized, that through the past year and a half that I've gone through a lot, and I see Joker as an inspiration to me in that respect. I will give a more detailed post when I'm not using my phone, but I wanted to get this topic out there as soon as I could:

What does Joker mean to you? Not just why you like him, but more than that. Does he inspire you? How? Why?

Just a thought.

^For me, it's probably that I can kind of relate to him. I have a bit of a mental instability that has really gotten on the way of my life, whether it be work, education, or just social problems. Thing is, I can kind of escape it, since no-one really knows about it. So I try my damnedest to just be accepted as a normal person.

Joker though, has an actual, PHYSICAL, defect. He could never escape from that. And yet somehow he's managed to earn the respect of just about everyone he meets. That, and he's the freaking best pilot in the galaxy. And like he said, he earned it all, not as a charity for his condition.

I know he's not real, but he's kind of my hero for that.

Again i can relate to him. Im very reserved and hard to get to know, i focus on things like work etc and dont give people much of a chance, avoiding the risk of being treated like crap. I make jokes out of situations to make myself feel better about, which is horrendous in some circumstances and usually earns me a filthy look but its a reflex.
As dengrade says too, no one knows about it, at least i wouldnt mention it, so its about getting on with it on your own. (i dont know if your referring to a condition you might have) but for me its just crippling shyness, and the depression thats usually paired with it. Which for me is my disability (until i get up the courage to have hypno or whatever). Its a daily struggle and you have to carry on through that.
And like Joker, having certain 'unwanted' personality traits that result from having a difficult life, defensive, the humour thing again, the sort of... stiff upper lip that means you wouldnt confide in anyone (how terribly British!) etc.....

edit: my thoughts are everywhere in that post lol, i keep crapping myself whenever i hear a noise in case boss catches me on comp

I get what you're saying Namira, don't worry about not being totally coherent =P

I guess he does inspire me by making light of pretty much every situation, even in the darkest of times he can still manage to say something witty or awesome and just lighten up everything. It's gotta take some serious courage to not break down in the most dire of circumstances, and I find that pretty damn cool.

[And if I may be off topic for a moment, I'm curious as to what people think of my new DA:O character *pokes new avatar*, I started a new file this afternoon as a City Elf, and I must say I quite enjoyed the origin story, and is my favourite of the three I've played so far (Dalish Elf and Human Noble)].

Back to being on topic, a Joker cake would be fantastic =D And there should be party hats. I love party hats. Oooh SR2 party hats, those would be awesome!

^I was thinking the same thing when they annouced the second costume pack, Jokers an awesome character, he deserves a unique outfit, rather then the stupid generic Cerberus uniform.

Ah, I finally have some time to myself to respond to my own topic! (Btw Nam...I agree with you, I think Joker has the sexiness to pull off a speedo XD)

Over the past year, things haven't been all that great for me. I was in Air Force ROTC on scholarship, but I was having major back problems and struggling to meet physical requirements, which added to a bunch of stress I was already under. One day I finally snapped, and couldn't deal with it all anymore. It sucked double bad because I slowly saw my dream of flying for the military slipping away from me. I thought I'd never get it back.

Last summer, I was able to pull myself up by my bootstraps. Then I discovered Mass Effect, and it became my little escape world for a while. More and more, I started to realize that Joker had to have gone through something similar 8 years prior to the start of the first game, with everyone telling him that he probably wouldn't make it. I mean, I never had anything resembling his disease, but he gave me a bit of hope that if I just kept on going and doing my best, I could still achieve my goals. Now, I'm applying for an aviation billet with the Navy, and I'm just hoping for my commission at this point, but I'm still hopeful. Joker has done more for me than I could have imagined any fictional character (let alone a character from a video game) could.

I'll get on that cake, then. :)

What Joker means to my FemShep and me:

I think Joker is the one constant in life that Shep has. I think after coming back from a mission where she has witnessed horrors and firefights, just standing behind his chair lets all of those melt away, if only for a little while (for both my character and me). Also, what girl isn't turned on by her guy's ability to lay some good cover fire! Well....at least FemShep appreciates it. :-). Also i believe that a set of abs you could eat cookies off of is a close second to cover fire abilities.

I did, Koji-san. The picture of it is back in the thread somewhere. Here, I'll add you as a friend so you can see it in my albums and don't have to go looking for it.
