Details!  I haven't played a male Shepard yet, but that could be pretty funny!

I think it'd be kinda awesome if we got two birds with one stone-- Joker romance AND the long-awaited gay male LI in one sexy pilot package. (Just so long as Joker is also available for the ladies. Gotta share the love in parallel-but-unconnected universes.)

Sorry but Joker would not be able to physically withstand Shepard's romancing. He fractured his thumb on the mute for crying outloud.

It is called hyperbole. He did not actually fracture his thumb. He was able to get from the bridge to engineering-- going down ladders, crawling through air ducts, and then getting thrown to the floor with quite some force!-- without breaking anything too badly. He was also able to fire an assault rifle at a bunch of Collectors without breaking. I am pretty certain that if Shepard is being careful and gentle-- as she would be, one can safely assume-- then he'd make it through sex without shattering. Especially since he seems to be doing notably better in ME2 than ME1.

I don't know why I bother typing this all up anymore, I know that the people who post these things are never going to come back and read it. And the people who will post in the future sure as hell aren't going to read this either. Sigh. <_<

I've come to realize that...people don't get jokes. Which leads me to believe that most of the silly twits posting their LOLBREAKAGEHE<3'SEDITWULUV banter are people that actually have no sense of humor. They find that the only funny comments they can muster are LOL HE BREAKS HIS THUMB ON THE MUTE SO BEING BANGED BY SHEPARD WILL KILL HIM LOL. Sarcasm and over-exaggeration are part of humor people.

For example, I broke my hands typing this rant up.

HARR HARR.

Oh wait, look I'm still typing! :o PROBABLY BECAUSE I'M BEING SARCASTIC TEE FEKKIN' HEE.

I need to get some sugar in my system, I'm feeling rather argh. Oh look, pixie sticks...

Yep...It was a waste of your time.  Actually I did come back and read it so it is not a complete waste.  Anyways, I felt the punishment Joker took in your description there is inconsistent with the seriousness of his illness as he describes it in ME1.  JMOB)

Uh, you played ME2 right? You DID see what happened in the game right? If anyone's inconsistent it's the developers, so your a bit skewed on that one there darling. <3

Yes...I saw what happened and that is what I am referring to.  It is not the first inconsistency I have seen in the story.

Well, at least it's a new complaint? Joker's only a year younger than Shep, though. So no cradle-robbing there. And it might be a little awkward at first, but then there would be snarking and teasing and awesomeness.

Well, clearly something's changed between ME1 and ME2. ME1, Joker says that even with crutches and leg braces, it's hard to get around, but he manages. ME2, the first time you see him after the Normandy dies he's walking around independant of any outside supporting. Limping pretty significantly and hunched over somewhat, but still, no crutches or braces.

And then he does everything that I described-- have you gotten to that point in the game yet? Because, yeah, Joker kicks ass and takes names and somehow manages to keep his skeleton from crumbling into dust. We don't know exactly what happened that made him physically much more capable of handling much more physically straining activity, but as I said, clearly he's gotten some work done in the past two years. I'm theorizing that Cerberus hooked him up with some gene therapy that's otherwise illegal in Alliance space, but that's just my own wild guess. But he's in much better physical condition know than he was in ME1. Ergo: not likely to break during sex.

It is!  In ME1, he describes himself as having to hobble around on crutches and avoid stepping wrong when walking to the bathroom.  "Just don't ask me to dance, unless you like the sound of snapping shinbones!"

Except, in ME2, he's up and walking around without crutches.  He's crawling around through air ducts.  He's running around the ship.  He's fending off waves of baddies with an assult rifle.  He even, if you fail miserably, lifts and tosses I-beams around.  So, he's obviously exaggerating when he claims to have fractured his thumb on the mute button.  If he can pull Shepard to safety, he can definitely survive a little intimacy.

Maybe BioWare decided to work on a cure.  :D

Perhaps he did have work done but it is all speculation at this point then.  The developers never mention this so I assume plot hole.

They're generally quite good about filling in gaps like that, especially in a universe as insanely detailed as the Mass Effect one. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until ME3 comes out and we can perhaps get more information. And plot hole or not, the fact remains that he's clearly capable of much more physically taxing activities now.

Just out of curiosity, besides the Vrolik's, why would you have a problem with Joker being a romance option? I mean, I don't really like Garrus as an LI, but other people did so good for them; I just... don't flirt with Garrus. Why couldn't people who don't see Joker as a romantic interest simply take the non-flirting options with him and, you know, not hook up with him?

Hes seriously a year younger? My Sheps always seem like shes old enough to be his mom and seems to act like his mom. I never even noticed Shep and Joker had ages, my Sheps always have different ages in my mind.

Yep. Shepard was born in April 11, 2154, so he/she is 31 now-- that's in the ME1 Codex, iirc. Joker was born in 2155, making him 30.

I just got called a 'razzlesnake' so I'm feeling sassy.

Random sentence is random.

I always figured Joker and Shep were around the same age. And Joker's small age difference is a heck of a lot better than say Shep and Miranda...she's like, five years older. What a saucy cougar...lol, cougar's a stretch but still...

I don't really have a problem with it although really what would the point be.  Why do people need everyone in the Mass effect universe to be an LI?  To me it is such a small part of the story but seems to have taken off as the biggest aspect of the game.  Either way though it wouldn't bother me if they left well enough alone or added him as an LI.

Yeah, Joker's one of the "younger" members of the SR-1 crew. Kaidan was... gah, he actually said his age, 32 or 33? Three or four years older than Shep, who was 29 at the time. Ashley was much younger, at 24 or 25. Joker would have been 28 during ME1.

Miranda's 35, I believe. No idea how old Jack is, and I really can't speak to the relative ages for any of the aliens (although I think Tali is 24 now?).

ANYWAY. Point is, Joker and Shep are very close in age. So that is not a factor. Mwhaha.

Now that's an over-generalization.

I personally don't want everyone to be romanceable. I didn't romance anyone in any of my playthroughs with my main femShep. The only person I want romanceable is Joker, because he's got this thing called a great personality and I was spoiled by Star Wars, KoTOR I & II where I was able to romance my fekkin' pilot. I think Joker being a romance option makes a lot more sense than say, Garrus. But Garrus fans got their Garrus love and I'm happy for them, I make do with not hitting on him. Simple as that.

You should keep in mind that this is a Bioware game and they're known for having romances play a big part in their stories. Mainly because it adds to emotion especially when people level with that character and find things to relate with them.

We're just a small group of fangirls/boys that would like their epic flyboy romance, we're not voting for anyone else to be romanceable. If we wanted EVERYONE to be romanceable we'd be spouting Legion/EDI/Samara/Zaeed/Chakwas/Ken/Gabby blah blah blah, nonsense. So please don't lump us in with 'wanting everyone to be romanceable'. Kthnx.
