I find Kaidan is very insightful actually, hes just a reserved man of few words. Both men are good.

I enjoy both, but I'd still want Joker before him. Kaidan's my second in line when it comes to Mass Effect.

Thats what multiple playthroughs are for.
And it all depends on how the Jokermance is written, since i already know i very much enjoy the Kaidan one.

That is true. If Jokermance is indeed in ME3, I hope with all my power that it is well written. Y'know, like most everything else in the game.

Unfortunately Bioware like to throw spanners in the works .... the romance should be our PC's solace, i say! Love drama is surely the last thing Shep needs lol

Kaidan and Joker are both insightful and cute, just in different ways. Lol. I love Kai's positive, yet realistic view on things, but Joker's goofy pessimism is awesome, too. Though part of me thinks that Joker really isn't that pessimistic, just presents his views that way...like he's really hoping for the best, but at the same time, preparing for the worst.

Though I love them both, Joker's gonna win out with me over Kaidan every time...sorry Kai Kai... :( I kind of want a "DUH" moment for both of them if they do the romance for Joker...kind of like "holy cow, we've been right under each others' noses!" Lol.

I think I'd have a 60-40 split for Joker and Kaidan, personally. All of my current Sheps that romanced Kaidan remained faithful and I have 2 who are unromanced completely in hopes that Joker will finally notice her...

Shepard: Hey Joker, when did you get there?
Joker: I've been here. THE ENTIRE TIME.
Shepard: Hm. It's strange, I'm just now noticing you in a different light. ... *jumps [with care]*

By the way, via a Spanish magazine, apparently ME3 is due out November 8th. :D Granted it's not official word from Bioware, but it's better than "Holiday".

Pandora just did it again: "The Last Worthless Evening" by Don Henley. It's such a perfect song for Shep and Joker!

Hey guys,

I recently joined ME games crowd. Thanks to free ME 2 tho'. Otherwise I was thinking this game has little interest in it for me but how can I more wrong. I really liked ME 2.

Anyway when I first started game I really liked Joker (he is the hottest guy in the crew you know) but during my first play thru my opinion started to change about him. A week ago I would be a supporter for Joker romance but now I don't want it. Here is why:

1- Sheperd dies to save that guy but after seeing him alive he doesn't say a thing or thank him/her for sacrificing him/herself while trying to save his stubborn brittle ass.

2- During collecter game assault part he says " Hurry up Sheperd. I won't loose another Normandy". What??? I saved your life and you are thinking about leaving me here for saving your precious ship? That ship is mine by the way, in case you forgotten.

So thanks but no thanks for Joker Romance. If they really want to put some romance options for Joker their best bet would be opening a hole into helmsman cockpit so he can make love with Normandy.

If there will be a choice between Joker and EDI for running the ship I will pick EDI without second thought. Better than ungratefull non-human human.

Gotta disagree with you there, I reckon he just uses humor to cover up what he's really feeling. A defense mechanism, if you will. Deep down, he's immensely grateful to Shepard, he just doesn't really know how to show it.

Yeah this is why I mostly forgive his come back talk but keeping a ship over a guy who rescued you too cold for me.

So if you want Joker romance more power to you but for me he ain't worth a dime. Next time I have an option to save him or my sheperd, answer is very clear.

To each their own. At least you're not one of the many who brings up his Vroliks Syndrome as an excuse to not have a Jokermance.

First off Joker makes up for his bull at the end of the game. He's the one who ends up getting you out of the collector base before it is destroyed. He actually has a couple of dialogue where he talks to you about the past I don't remember the exact places but he does mention a couple of moments where he does talk about and admits some regret. I'm still doing another play through and he has mentioned a few sympathies. He also helps you keep the normandy when the collectors attack midway through the game. He also shoots a gun to help you fight off the collectors. He literally gets in the line of fire to help you get back on the ship. I'm sorry I will disagree with you completely. Plus we still have a third game and Bioware may still bring in some regrets in the last chapter. I suggest you play through the game again. Also if you haven't imported Joker from the first game then you won't truly understand why we love joker so much. To truly understand the Joker romance you have to truly have played with him through the entire trology. Look up all the youtube videos of joker and see some of the different dialogues and options you get with joker. You may end up changing your mind.

As for EDI and Joker. Edi can't fly the ship the way joker can and Joker was flying the first normandy again a reaper and killed it. EDI doesn't have nothing on Joker and here is the proof.

In this video have way through it. You see the Normandy SR1 punch a whole through the reaper. The only person flying that ship was Joker. Now tell me you don't love Joker, basically what I'm saving is. Without Joker shepard wouldn't be alive.

I figure when he says, "I'm not losing another Normandy," he's not just talking about the ship. He's talking about the ship and its contents. He lost friends aboard the original Normandy, you included. Not to mention if the Normandy is destroyed, you won't survive very long on the Collector ship. One thing I've learned about playing through both games is to never accept what the characters are saying on face value alone.

Besides, come on, male or female, you gotta admit that Joker is pretty distraught when he realizes that you're not going to be able to make it to the escape pod. As for wanting to save the ship and being stubborn, you've got to think about what this ship means to him. Because of his Vrolik's, he was probably told over and over again that he'd never be able to fly, and then he actually makes it and becomes the helmsman of the most advanced ship in the fleet. Not to mention that crew has gone to hell and back in that ship, she's gotta mean something to everyone. I can speak as a pilot myself that losing your ship...whether it's a helicopter, airplane, or highly advanced frigate, is hard on you. You form almost a symbiotic relationship with something you fly often.

Despite the fact I disagree with you, I appreciate that you're arguing your side with much more dignity than we normally see  here.

Hi... yada yada... Too much to read... bla bla bla... Great to see the support for Joker still alive... yada yada... carry on then...

~strategically avoids argument~

So it still says Dec 31? Awesome! Been waiting for more Joker face time. The DLC has not been filling it in like I would hope it would.

Well he does love the ship but it can't be just that, I mean he joined Cerberus before he knew he was getting the Normandy back after all. I imagine he must have some deeper loyalty to Shep. Of course without a romance in game all this is just reading into things.
I know when I played Arrival I just wanted to scream 'OH GOD JOKER HALP' into the comms but I was a good girl and warned the bats. He's totally a knight in shining armour. He's pulled her ass out of the fire alot, remember the AA tower...

Says November 8th on Escapist for release, few days to play until Skyrim comes out then...oh the choices.

Apologies I didn't mean to bash him. It just amused me when I was in the citadel and Ash came out with this really long and intelligent observation about the council and Kaiden was like 'This place is big.' or something, made me roll my eyes a bit.

I definately perfer Joker to Kaiden but my shep romanced K and then stayed faithful. So I'm not that much of a meanie.

Not debating that point at all, but I'm keeping my particular point with what has already been established in-game. The original Normandy had to mean a great deal to him.

*Sings to herself* Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed...? Hahaha. That knight in shining armour comment made me think of that song. :D

Hehe that song is awesome and cheesy. <3 But yeah Shepard wouldn't have been able to do half the thing they did without Joker existing. In story terms at least I think it makes sense its a good partnership.

But yeah, when the pre-orders come out, there's nothing stopping me from getting CE. Future broke college kid or not. I'll get paid for being in the marching band XP

1- This is no more Joker's fault than it's Garrus's fault that he CANNOT TALK ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN CALIBRATING GUNS FOR 98% OF THE GAME. Weaker characterizations in a sequel shouldn't reflect on the character in general. Please, don't blame Joker. Additionally, Joker doesn't seem the type to get all touchy-feely about stuff that means something to him--and remember, he had months to recover from Shepard's loss, and to know that she was going to be okay because Cerberus was rebuilding her.

Besides, listen to his voice when he knows he's watching you die. "Commander... SHEPARD!" He was there for the most intimate moment of Shepard's existence so far--the premature ending of it. And if Shepard dies at the end of Mass Effect 2, his line is "You're not doing this to me again." Try telling yourself that's about the Normandy. You know it's not. For all his chronic wisecracking, when it comes down to it, Joker has formed a very strong bond with Shepard, regardless of whether you see it as a mere friendship or the kind of friendship that can slowly blend itself into a romance.

2. Nah, a ship belongs more to the guy who steers her than the guy who handles the personnel. But of course it's not just "the Normandy" to Joker. It's what it represents. His friends. His world. His ability to move beyond the limits of his handicap.

And it's easier for somebody like Joker to say "I'm not losing another Normandy" than to be unprofessional in front of his commanding officer--what did you expect?  *sob* "Commander, I would just fall apart if I had to watch you die again!" No. He is a military man, used to focusing his emotions--such as humiliation and anger over being laughed at by his peers when he was learning to fly--into excellent performance.

No, Joker wouldn't fall apart in front of Shepard. No matter how much he felt for his boss, he wouldn't show it. It's not his style. Remember, being an ace pilot is the only thing that he has to make him feel as strong, as capable as every other person or even more--he wouldn't jeopardize that unless he was incredibly sure that he couldn't live without her; that he could consider sacrificing his career to be with her. And I doubt he would make a move if he didn't see signs from her that she felt the same.

Part of why I love him, really. And part of why Joker is a perfect candidate for a romance. He's the guy who's been there all along, supporting Shepard and sharing her ups and downs, who means more than the fly-by-night flings Shepard might have had.

They should still totally do this thing. If they don't, ME3 will feel a little bit hollow for me no matter how awesome it is. There's no romance they could come up with now that feels as unique and deep with long-term personal history and affectionate understanding as the one Shepard could have with Joker.
