if there is a non- shepard jokermance? I will hold the brand new game in my arms and cry for weeks months even before i think about touching the thing >_> my poor saved file just for joker BUT i am hoping for the best and hopes its like..... jacob and miranda.....

Oh man, my mind just totally went there. A new girl from the Alliance shows up in as part of the Normandy's crew, and it turns out Joker used to date her...

Thanks to all of you, I am now hopeful for a Joker romance. If ME3 comes out with no Joker romance...I will blame all of you for my depression. XD

I am quite optimistic that Bioware will not let us down.
There have now been several hints that we might get what we eagerly wish - more information that give us hope than ever.

Bioware know that Joker is loved by many and I am quite sure that they won't disappoint his fans.

Of course we don't know for certain that there will be a Shokermance but I think the chances are quite high. And if they decide to add a Jokermance to ME3 than it will be surely a Shokermance - because this is Shepards story and Bioware would certainly not waste time and money to implement a non Shepard NPC-NPC romance story.

To me, Joker just seems like he'll forever be forbidden fruit. The little thing that the Mass Effect universe dangles in front of us, but never lets us have! "Ah, yes, you can look, but don't touch!" You know how it is.

I'm totally, completely in support of Jokermance, but a part of me feels that Joker will be too busy cracking jokes and saving Shepard's butt to notice our clumsy attempts to steal his heart.

Oh, Joker! He's the only character that could turn us down, and we'd love him anyway!

*Note: spoilers for ME3 following and walls of text (sorry - what can I say, it's Joker )*

Aveline is indeed an example for a NPC-NPC romance - but - this is Mass Effect and not Dragon Age. I really like the Aveline romance because it gives more the feeling of a real world around the player and that the friends are evolving in their own way and not sitting 10 years around waiting for Hawke to make an other quest. At least Aveline is the only NPC that give me this feeling.....

But - Avelins romance was part of her personal quest and she is a full "squadmate" so there was no additional resources used to implement this romance.

Romance partners in Mass Effect where normally only squadmates but with Kelly (and we know that other light romances where indeed planned but later skipped due to lack of resources) there is a crew member with which at least a kind of romance can be started.  So why not Joker? 

From all the information we could gather from Bioware until now it seems that they are indeed trying to make ME3 the best game and ever and listening quite intensely to the fans to make things even better and to include as much as possible.

Of course not all wishes can be fullfilled and we don't know if Bioware has e.g. special plans for Joker that would prevent a romance. But from what we could gather on information it seems that there could be indeed a romance partner for Joker.

We know from Bioware that the trilogy is Shepards story and ME3 will focus more on Shepard. We know that
- there will be new LIs: Link
- there is at least a hint about a jokermance: Link (sorry - look for the entry on 9th May as reply of the message of Raving_Ranter)
- Bioware know that Joker has many fans: Link (sorry - look for the entry on 22th May that is a reply on Seth Greens twitter message - I could not link directly to it)
- Bioware is listening to the fans: Link
- there will be relationships with new chars and old friends, some of them romantic: Link (sorry - look for entry on 12th may as answer to JA9777).

So the chances are good and there but of course we don't know for sure.

With new characters there is always the chance that they or their romance might not be so popular as intendend. Fortunately, Bioware is known for doing fanservice (like Tali and gladfully the Garrus romance) and with Joker as an existing character that is much loved among the fans it feels quite natural to make him a new LI for Shepard. Because of their shared history a romance would not feel rushed but naturally evolved.

But with all the planned content I think adding a NPC romance partner for Joker would take resources that could be used for implementing other things.

Ok lets have a look what it would look like if there would be a NPC - Joker romance: 
As everyone of the crew except Joker can die they would probably use a new NPC as a romance partner. If there is a new NPC that has to be introduced they need time = resources to make a relationship between Joker and this NPC plausible unless they are not going to just make a comment about it by Joker and other crew members. Or they take a NPC that will be a part of Shepards squad maybe a yet unanounced squadmate. Than it is likely that some players might be jealous and they like to romance this NPC themself. So there would be fans that would be disappointed because they cannot romance Joker and jealous about Joker/NPC being together.

Concerning the alternative of a Joker - Shepard romance this would be quite better for the fans as they may be able to romance the new (unanounced) NPC themself or being able to romance Joker and everyone is happy 

And this is why I think there will be a Shokermance.
