Good job, Namira! I wish we could have seen this scene in-game. Shepard, despite the fact that basically every male in the squad is trowing himself at her feet, is staying faithful to Joker, even though it's not clear if he would ever feel the same way about her.

So I went and saw the new thread and seen it's been locked. So, I'm going to have my nerd rage spazout here:

Guys is it really really that difficult to conceptualise that physically disabled/challenged individuals can still have relationships/be attractive? I mean really? Just today a couple came into my shop and one of them was in a wheelchair. You know, she was in a much worse off way than Joker is, especially after all his reconstructive surgery on Cerberus' tab, and she was married. Apparently she'd been that way since birth. (It came up in discussion.)

If you really want to get into the whole hip-smashing thing (since that's mainly what seems to be the focus of people 'against' Joker as a LI) then check it:
There are more ways of physically expressing love than going at it like a jackhammer to cement, you know. Humans don't have an on/off switch, we are capable of slowing down and being careful. Just saying.

Why is this so hard for people to get? Then again I am on a forum where people said 'YOU CAVED TO THE FEMSHEP PLAYERS???' when it was announced an alternate cover of ME3 would feature female Shepard, and where there have been many threads with assent in regards to 'OMG MAKING CHARACTERS A BISEXUAL/GAY OPTION THREATENS MY STR8 MALE DUDEBRO SEXUALITY' so, you know, maybe I shouldn't be so bloody shocked.

Also, some people can't get it through their heads that they aren't the only ones in the world playing this game. Yes, there are going to be gays and lesbians playing this game and no, it really isn't okay to go around shouting that it shouldn't be in the game because you don't like it. This also drags over into the whole romancing a cripple thing, my mother is handicapped and she has a healthy relationship, sure they have to be careful when it comes to things, but she also has to be careful in her everyday life. I mean, just look at Joker, he's risked a lot to help the crew and help Shepard, sure he's fragile but that doesn't stop him so why should it stop him from wanting to get into a relationship with someone, and why shouldn't someone want to get into a relationship with him? Blarg, I don't even know some people just make me angry, and I am ranting.

Well, that's just it. It's not so much the idea that that statement is thrown at my favourite character -- It's that the statement is "You can't date him because he's a cripple." I mean what kind of reason is that to discount someone -- anyone from having a relationship? It infers that anyone with a physical disability isn't "good enough" somehow and that leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth it's just unreal.

This is sort of like when people suggested that LGBT shouldn't be in games because LGBT people are not human. I believe they were referred to as sub-human. Broken. I think many people think the same of cripples. Sickening.

Yar, and if you read through this thread (Or any other Joker related topic) you'll realize how many times the whole "lolbuthe'scrippled" comes up or "you'll break him!" or even "You can't take him from EDI!" It's fine and dandy at first, but then it just starts getting a bit annoying just like after hearing the same joke over and over again stops being funny.

It really is. Having a disability doesn't mean you don't derserve love or that you're only there to be pitied. Stuff like that just frustrates me.

*sigh* I hate it when people say stuff like that. My aunt is dating this man who can't "get it up" but she doesn't care because he respects her, and is really really nice. And I used to be best friends with this boy secluded to a wheelchair, and I would beat up anyone if they made fun of him. He was my first video game buddy...I miss him.

Some people are just too close-minded, or they simply enjoy watching us fangirls/guys go ape-****. But yeah, we shouldn't get too worked up about it. We can always come here amongst others who agree that Joker deserves a romance.

Wow, I've heard many bad things being said on teh Interwebs, but the LGBT statement about them not human is just plain awful. Same with people with a disability not being able to be in a relationship. How heartless can people be? It's just like when I hear comments about my best friend having hearing aids. We've been friends for twelve years and they have never bothered me. Sometimes they squeak, and once teacher actually called it out and said it was annoying...Gah... Stoopid people

On a lighter note, it's nice to see Dean Winchester can turn guys gay XD

Hey, didn't Casey say that they would be some new LI:s in ME3. That is the little statement that I latch all my hopes on. *tries to forget being a 100% sure that Kaidan/Ash would turn up in arrival*

@Sorrel. I used to get up all in arms about immature @sswads online, but then I found a blog where they take a bunch of horrible crap guys have sent to girl gamers in-game and made it funny. Now I just shake my head and dream of pasting those nutbags on http://fatuglyorslutty.com/ and my world is back to rosy. Let's refuse to hear the ignorance because the only thing that matters is that Bioware is listening and is on our side on these issues. Welll...to be determined on the Joker issue but I see good signs!

Koji-san, I completely agree. I think it's awesome BioWare actually listens and cares about their fans enough to take our comments and criticism. They listened to us when we asked for a Garrus romance, right? Maybe they're listening to us for a Joker one as well! *hoping like a child for her Christmas present*

And I see good signs about a Joker romance, too...namely just that one tweet about having new LI's. There were also a few video responses sent in about the romance, so BioWare definitely knows we want Joker as our boy. And I mean...come on. The BEST is saved for last. XD (And I think even Seth Green wants a romance for Joker - he was kinda "wtf" when he had to "flirt" with an AI; at least that's what I gained from the interview. Which...I am curious...has Mr. Green ever been in anything serious or romantic? Because if not...having Joker as a romance option will be just as interesting!)

BTW: I am SO tempted to name my next Shepard "Harly". Because we all know the best villainous duo are Joker and Harly...
