Also, I'm pretty sure Mass Effect 3 will include more romances, with at least one completely new character, why can't it just be Jeff instead of devoting a whole new character to becoming an interest that will eventually lose their personality because you don't want to **** it's brains out? For once, why can't we get a love interest that our characters are close to, trust and can rely on and they've known for a helluva long time? I see nothing wrong with that. If you'd like to ship EDI and Joker, cool for you, your personal opinion and taste. We on the otherhand shall happily loiter here giggling over the idea that we can actually have an endearing male human romance option.
:: high-fives Razz :: EXACTLY.
There have been a grand total of FOUR characters who have stayed loyal to Shepard throughout both games and all the hell involved: Garrus, Tali, Chakwas, and Joker. Garrus and Tali became LIs, but if your Shep isn't into aliens, you're SOL. Joker's been there for Shepard in both games, and he had the most character development and largest role of any non-party crew member. Much more personality than the crew member you actually could hook up with in this game.
:: significant glance at Fanservice McGee (commonly known as Kelly Chambers) ::
Joker's role in the game and conversation option were comprable to what you could get with any of the "main" crew-- all that was missing was a loyalty mission. Which you don't need for Joker because he's already 110% loyal to Shepard. He's been there for her through everything-- that's not insignificant, for either of them.

In my dream RPG they'd merge DA style character relationships with ME look and feel and ES open world for side quests.... it will so never happen, but I can dream.

Oh I wouldn't say never...
Especially when a certain someone starts attending school for Game Art and Design specifically focusing on character and story development and wants to eventually start her own game company...YOU NEVER KNOW.

Blind as a Bat: mature rating and probably NSFW, but very sweet and awesome.
Of Boatmen, Bridges, and Model Ships: If you do not squee fangirlishly at this marvel of cuteness then you have no soul. You probably didn't hug Tali, you jerk.

There's a story floating about in which the heads of BioWare were asked about the possibility of romance arc DLC for both ME2 and DA:O. They seemed intrigued by the idea. Bearing in mind this is no more than idle speculation fueled by nothing more than bare wisps of rumor and rainbows: what would people think about a Jokermance as DLC?
Personally, at this point, I'd be kind of disappointed. At least if it was DLC for ME2. DLC never meshes in with the main game as well as regular content, and if we got a Joker romance in ME2 DLC, it would never be mentioned in ME3. And it probably wouldn't even fit in very well with the ME2 game content. If having it as DLC for ME3 is the only way Shepard is getting into the flyboy's pants, well, I'll take what I can get, I suppose. But I'd much prefer to see it as a romance option within the main game.
Thoughts?

As much as I like the idea of possibly getting a Jokermance asap (might get me back into playing ME2...>>) I'm in agreeance with you Rhia.
The idea of adding a romance arc through DLC is cool and all, but I just don't see it meshing with the story...at all. That's a big killer for me, I'd like something that moves with the story, unless Bioware is willing to make the DLC work like that, then maybe I'd have to reconsider it, but then that should have been something put in in the first place, y'know? To me, using Jokermance as an example, I see the DLC being put together too quickly and thrown in there, in which case it would seem out of place and just something to fill the time with, which is not so awesome. I'd be much happier waiting around for ME3 for a Jokermance, something grand and epic that meshes with the actual storyline and flows with it. Not something you can complete in one sitting.
Now, if they did add something along the lines of...possibly introducing a potential Jokermance for ME3 like, being able to flirt, maybe...just MAYBE add something to where we can have a personal talk with Joker that could potentially open doors in ME3, I'd pay. I'd pay for simple flirtation though if it involved Joker.
Personally, such DLC I'd like to see would be overall character involvement, be it existing romances or platonic relationships...would MUCH rather see the platonic relationships expanded because TALI I THINK THOSE GO'RAM ENGINES ARE CLEAN ENOUGH! I'd much rather see npcs interact with each other, I'd actually think it'd be nifty if they added DLC for npc romances, like Miranda and Jacob for instance! (or coughKal&Talicough...yes, I know he's not on your ship...who cares!). Anyway, I like the 'idea' but not for a Jokermance, because, as Rhia said it most likely won't transfer over to ME3 correctly like alot of choices from ME1, hell look at the DLC from ME1, you hear something small from BDTS and Pinnacle Station may as well never existed. Dx
And then look at the actual choices we made in game that didn't transfer correctly! If you do paragon with Conrad Verner he still acts like a douche and says you put a gun in his face, (MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE) or in my case, I ignore all the Cerberus missions so I could play dumb in the second game and be all like, I've never heard of you guys, let's work together with no problems then! Apparently that means I'm stupid and the project might have failed...THANK YOU. >> Done with rant.

I don't know if I would say the exsisting romances really fit into the main story the way it is currently. Its almost like they were DLC content that was preloaded on the disk.

Oh, Joker. I have a feeling he'd be this oblivious to Shep's flirting, too. Or he might be all like "she's flirting with me! wait, no, she couldn't be, must be something else, so I should just act normal!".
So cute.
