Does anyone else remember the movie that came out in the 90's about the AI house? A man and his 2 kids move in to this house and it does EVERYTHING, cooking, cleaning, changing the wallpaper to horses running across a field...everything was electronic. I think it starred Pierce Brosnan....



Anyway the house falls in love with the guy and gets all jealous and murderous when the guy brings home another chick and wants to marry her, they practically have to burn it down to stop it from gonig all homicidal on their asses.



I don't know if anyone else remembers this movie, I hink it was 'made for tv' but everytime anyone brings up 'Joker and EDI' as a romance this flashes into my brain lol.

don't know Trapper, can't remember everything, haven't watched it in a while. But the house did start out with an electronic voice and they changed it to a womanly/motherly one, can't remember if there was a hologram.

Heh. Yeah, someething with the hat would be awesome. My idea is that during the love scene, right when they're going to kiss, Shepard smirks at him, pulls his hat off, and tosses it over her shoulder before they kiss.

And then if you pursue the Jokermance you can add his hat to your casual around the ship outfit, much to his dismay. "You took my hat! I like my hat! I mean, okay, you do look adorable in my hat, but... it's my hat! I need it!"

Yeah, I agree, I don't think she'd try to kill people off out of jealousy. (Getting hacked by Cerberus/Reapers on the other hand... I like EDI, I really do, but I just can't trust her entirely.) I still think she'd be helpfully playing matchmaker and using the experience as a way to understand human interaction and emotions. And occasionally providing terrible advice based on her observations.

That does sound really good, I like the humor part you add to stealing his hat. Even if they just do it momentarily to mess with Joker for forgetting it and you ware it to the bridge as a trophy then give it back to him.

I was like "damn it, EDI has totally been infected by a Collector/Reaper virus." And then when I actually got to the cutscene where you're talking with EDI and Joker about the IFF and Joker told me to take the shuttle, I was like... "crap, they hacked my pilot too? BASTARDS."

She does have some kind of anti-Reaper algorithims installed though, so I'm kind of hoping she'll be able to hack a Reaper or something. Which would be AWESOME.

Oh, me too. It would suck if EDI was all friendly with the crew and being all matchmakery with Joker and Shep and then she got hacked or something and turned on everyone. The perils of an AI friend.

Of course, while it would suck, it would also make for great drama! and plot!, so if it was done well I probably wouldn't complain that much.

And plot bunnies again god damn it this just keeps happening

Standing in the elvator then it goes up to teh command quarter.



Shepard: This isn't right....

Joker: Did you leave your radio on?



She pushes down on the elevator but it doesn;t move hehe

I'd be in favor of adding Joker as a romance sub plot for Femshep for two main reasons.



1) Romantic Comedy Potential

Yes, Joker has fun banter with EDI, but I'm sure the writers could come up with some really sweet-funny stuff, that would be so entertaining that even those who don't normally run a fem shep could be entertained by the dialog.



The "nerd gets the girl" theme probably would resonate with a lot of players, at least, it's a popular theme right now with shows like Chuck, Big Bang Theory etc, and there's definitely that sort of nerdy vibe about Joker.



Plus this would be different then the LI subplots already offered for Femshep (or Maleshep). Alenko/Thane are tragic/emo-angsty, Jacob is tawdry, over-the-top. Garrus comes the closest to romantic comedy, but it still has that built-in angst given the differences between turian and human. So none of those subplots would be the same style as one featuring Joker could be.



2) Femshep ought to be more attractive to the males of the galaxy, Joker included.



Let's face it, the galaxy is designed to make Male Sheps feel not just like a hero, but a big ol' sexy hero in the vein of James Bond or Kirk ....but somehow the opposite doesn't hold true since no male characters (other than the designated LI's) ever really respond in a flirtatious way to fem shep (and only some of the female npcs do, which isn't the same thing anyway). Now I get that the developers might be worried about coding in some dialog/interaction that could offend a large portion of their playerbase, so they're very careful about having random male characters make romantic or suggestive remarks to shep, and generally, anything along those lines seems to only happen after FemShep clearly invites that type of conversation/action. (A standard they don't apply of course to female characters flirting with shepard, since the plot often forces that on you when it involves Asari).



Since that standard isn't going to change, the developers should at least give Female sheps more "safely desginated male LI's" ..or at least some more triggered banter with a male character, and who better then a character that already exists ( since that would minimize the work to animate/code).



A few good lines here and there, even if there's no elaborate cutscene or anything could go a long way to giving FemShep the right feel ...maybe an overheard conversation, or something where you get the idea that even if say Joker wouldn't cross a line by hitting on his commander, he's at least aware that FemShep is an extremely charismatic, attractive lady.

Peppard I would actually agree with your statments whole except kirk wasn't a hunky super sexy hero type. It was spock all the woman wanted. Kirk was his bia'tch just nobody new it on the actual star trek set. Seriously If you gave shepard no emtions but a conflicted personality and just pointy ears all you ladies would die for him even more then joker. I'm surprised bioware hasn't tried to add in their own very type of spock in the ME universe. Just he would be like scally or something, but keep the pointy ears.



Actually joker would probably even better with pointy ears. lol.

It is ironic you bring up Kirk - hubby and I are watching TOS all digitally remastered now, and we just watched "Court Martial" last night, and Kirk SERIOUSLY has a woman every where, even his friggin prosecuting attorney used to be a squeeze. LOL

Men I would have swooned over in Trekverse -> Kirk, Riker, Spock, Data (Tasha proved he was fully functional!), Picard and Scotty in that order, all for different reasons. Then again, I generally enjoy men. *shrugs*

I still like Joker better than all of them because he's funny.

Ah now if their was a Jocotty I'd be all over that...er not in the way Sar was talking about "Kirk, Riker, Spock, Data, Picard and Scotty" however. I'd be an awful pilot but I like to think my persona is similar to Joker with interest similar to Scotty. As far as how sar referred to the above you would probably have to sub in Kaylee from Firefly, brain farting on the Trekvers hotties.
