Speaking of Just_mike's comment that would make a funny scene if part of the ME3 Joker conversations involves walking in on Joker playing with 80's "action figures". I just had a "Space Balls" memory come to mind.
And now I'm picturing Shepard walking back to her quarters to find Joker re-enacting epic space battles using all her model ships. And by "epic space battles" I mean him killing Sovereign over and over again.
And joker could then say:
While holding the old normandy
Joker:
Prepare yourself sorvereign for the mighty joker and the Normandy.
He pretends to use a fake voice for sovereign.
Joker: I will destroy you all humans.
Then joker says
Ahhhaahhh. Feel the power of jokers mighty piloting skills.
Shepard then peeks around the corner and joker then looks up as hes still playing.
He then looks at her with total embarressment.
Then shepard does something for him. She gives him a moment.
Shepard: Yeah, I guess Jokers piloting did save the day. She:
Joker then turns red, but can't say a thing except.
Joker:
So commander? Umm. Nice hamster you got.!
Cute....
And actually, Joker playing with toys wouldn't preclude him being a romantic character, as again, that's another parallel to the Walsh character in Firefly who's introduced playing with plastic Dino's.....If such writing /characterization worked for Whedon, could work in ME (let's face it, there are plenty of "nods" and winks to other sci fi stories so the writers shouldn't shy away from this either!).
