Speaking of Just_mike's comment that would make a funny scene if part of the ME3 Joker conversations involves walking in on Joker playing with 80's "action figures". I just had a "Space Balls" memory come to mind.

And now I'm picturing Shepard walking back to her quarters to find Joker re-enacting epic space battles using all her model ships. And by "epic space battles" I mean him killing Sovereign over and over again.

And joker could then say:
While holding the old normandy

Joker:
Prepare yourself sorvereign for the mighty joker and the Normandy.
He pretends to use a fake voice for sovereign.
Joker: I will destroy you all humans.
Then joker says
Ahhhaahhh. Feel the power of jokers mighty piloting skills.

Shepard then peeks around the corner and joker then looks up as hes still playing.
He then looks at her with total embarressment.
Then shepard does something for him. She gives him a moment.
Shepard: Yeah, I guess Jokers piloting did save the day. She:Posted Image

Joker then turns red, but can't say a thing except.

Joker:
So commander? Umm. Nice hamster you got.!Posted Image

Cute....

And actually, Joker playing with toys wouldn't preclude him being a romantic character, as again, that's another parallel to the Walsh character in Firefly who's introduced playing with  plastic Dino's.....If such writing /characterization worked for Whedon, could work in ME (let's face it, there are plenty of "nods"  and winks to other sci fi stories  so the writers shouldn't shy away from this either!).

Yup. Wash was goofy, snarky, and hilarious, and he and Zoe had an awesome, sweet, loving marriage. Not without its rocky patches, but definitely one of the best stable, happily-married relationships I've seen in a TV show. <3 I could see Joker and Shepard having something similar in the long term... flying around the galaxy, saving the day, being snarky and adorable at each other.

I completely forgot that wash did that. So this is like combining them all.

Seth + Joker + Wash = Joker ;)

If they did it right, it could be used as an easter egg in the next game. It would be so awesome just see if it turned out like that. Posted Image

I love the Joker character, but as far as romance goes, he's EDI's boy. I'm not sure I'd want to steal the BF of someone who can control the lifesupport systems.

I know :/  Darned character creator needs better ears.  But volus?   Shue shah tauthau toetoi thuet, as the saying goes.

Seriously, though, the playful not-quite-romantic tension between EDI and Joker makes dramatic sense.  Joker always was in love with the Normandy (remember how happy he was that he got "his girl" back?), and in a sense, EDI is the Normandy.  And the dialogue between them during the Collector raid was top notch--  when EDI started calling him Jeff.  "They're gone, Jeff" was one of the best lines in the game.  Really, it might not be a "romance", but they have a strong relationship.

Yea they have a "Mother + son" or "Big Sister + Little Bro" type of relation. Nothing that would interfere with a Shepard + Joker romance.

I don't get why people post in places, i think they are just really bored or maybe its because they secretly want joker but they implanted this thing in their head that tells them EDI and Joker are suppose to be together then they go awe :( and then it happens they start believeing in it so much they must find these Joker and shepard hope fulls and tell them what their voice is telling them.... I think harbinger is at work here...

"Taking direct control"

Victum: Yes... EDI and Joker must be together.... must tell the others.... cause it makes so much sense....now

yep I am convinced that these people are being controlled inductornated if you will (if thats how you spell it)

Well, she is made from Sovereign parts.

I understand loving your ship, but there's something weird about flirting with an AI. Oh, hey, someone needs to write a fic where EDI adopts the Shepard VI as her new "skin" in order to harass Joker.

I agree that EDI and Joker have a fun relationship, especially after they become friends, but I really don't think that Joker is literally in love with her or the Normandy. He's very attached to his ship, it's extremely important to him, but... okay, it's like this. I am very attached to my computer. It is very important to me, it holds all my writing and many games and allows me to connect with many friends. If it were to, say, explode after being hit with an alien laser beam, I would be very upset. But I don't love it. Same with Joker and the Normandy.

And EDI, while an AI, can't really experience emotions the way organics do-- she and Legion have both said as much about AIs in general. She sums up her relationship with Jeff as one of mutual trust to keep each other flying and alive, but it doesn't go into a realm of emotional attachment. And even with that bond of trust there's nothing precluding Joker and Shepard from hooking up. In fact, I've argued on previous pages that it would be AWESOME to see EDI playing matchmaker, or at least offering hilarious commentary on Joker and Shepard flirting.

I see your point. I think I could see EDI going either way if Shepard and Joker started down the snookums route. Even if the EDI/Joker relationship is simply BFF, friends can still get jealous about your romantic interests. How will EDI take it when Joker wants to go planetside with Shepard and watch the moon(s) rise, instead of staying onboard, helping calibrate the AI Core parametres?

I'm pretty sure artificial intelligence doesn't experience jealousy. Didn't Legion mention something about it?

Legion mentions not experiencing fear, but understanding it (I think). I think that applies to most organic emotions-- AIs understand them from a logical standpoint, they know (probably in a general, taking-the-average sort of way) how those emotions affect organics (fear causes X Y Z reactions, compensate thusly). One of the reasons EDI finds Joker interesting is that he reactions to stress and confrontation in a way that is atypical to her understanding of it. So she pokes at him to get reactions and add to her database. But there's nothing to indicate that EDI herself is experiencing any emotions like that.

Nah, this actually doesn't seem to be trolling, not nearly enough mentions of bones breaking and death via sex. This may be an honest disagreement and exchange of ideas! A rare sight on these intertubes.

I'm definitely understand of how people feel about EdI. She is logical and  has a hot voice. Yes joker woiuld find that attractive in a none creepy sense.  Shepard feels for joker and even talks about the flirting which could give us the indication that maybe... Just maybe a joker LI. might be in the works for the final game. Just think about it. All the build up all the talk and all the prelude story comes at the final moment in the ME saga. Just as commander shepard takes the final plunge into hell for the last time to see the devil itself in actualy one on one combat. Joker admits his love to Femshep and begs her to come back to him and EDI/Normandy.  Who likes this though?Posted Image

I don't remember the exact dialog but he does say to Shepard not to go "all unnatural" on him... HE'S NOT INTO AI DAMMIT.

Why thank you, I specilize in creating strong mental images. I also do weddings, coctail dinners, birthday partys  and office meetings but I draw the line at dancing... unless its with Melissa Russell, in which case I will gladly don pink ribbons in my hair and get funky with some line danceing.
Also note that when doing birthday partys I refuse to jump out of the cake.
