See, people who have never had *actual* sex imagine that it is always and only rough and pounding because in the pr0n movies it looks that way on top of cars and pool tables..... besides, good relationships are built out of respect, friendship and common interests.

Shepard died to save Joker, if you let your team get wasted Shep falls to the death to make make Joker go instead of wasting time trying to pull Shepard in. There is alot of respect and mutual admiration there, an easy flow of communication between the two.

Lasting relationships are usually built on more than just "Wow, they're hot, I gotta tap that!"

THANK YOU!

As fun as happy-humping is, it's not all there is in life, unless your a pr0n star and your getting monies for it. I don't know about anyone else but my relationship with my fiancee pretty much was exactly like that, with respect, friendship and a few common interests. Even after three years, our relationship is more about friendship than physical moments. Sex is just another part of that relationship, an experimentation as you and your partner trust one another. If sex is the basis for your relationship, I pity you and you also start to run out of fun stuff to talk about after the first year.

Us Joker fans could care less about sex and Vrolik's Syndrome, or EDI and Joker hazzing sexorz. What we care about is development in relationship and character, we'd love to be able to finally geek out with Joker over the nerdiest of things, and flirt in really bad ways to instigate awesome quotes we could banter about in public so people can stare at us all creeped out like.

Physical touching, sure, that's cool...Sex? Meh, how about a kiss?

But in reality, we just want something that has a much more significantly emotioanl impact for our Shepard's, s'all we ask.

I bet somehow Edi's going to install the Shepard VI as her default image instead of the blue vagina and Joker would fall heads over heels over her in an instant.

You have my support.

Joker is cool. It would be an interesting relationship (for a video game), physically extremely fit and active woman and a near invalid extremely fragile man.

Straight FemSheps deserve a "Kelly" option, besides. Perhaps they could even make Joker bi? Wouldn't that be something...

I admit I would be sad if he were gay, I don't think he's gay, but I didn't ask and he didn't tell. LOL

I'd hit that. If Shepard can come back from the death, then come ON, brittle bones will not be a problem! You get a freaking bone weave yourself in ME2, from the research upgrades.

I'm pretty sure Cerberus hooked him up with something awesome.  Experimental therapy?  Cybernetics?  Gene modding?

I sure hope so! I would totally love that, if they could do that. I would kiss the Illusive Man to save Joker! I would kiss him in a heartbeat, with tongue, if I had to. Or promise to walk his dogs for a year. Or something. Anything not too horrible.

As to the kiss thing--yeah. :( 'Course, the Bastila kiss wasn't on camera anyway. But who on earth would form a close relationship without a single kiss involved?! "Get a room" doesn't work when you're standing like twenty feet away from each other. Geez.

What I didn't like was that in ME2 it felt sort of... forced, I guess? Not with every relationship, but Thane comes along so late in the game; it's like a whirlwind romance, not that Garrus has much dialogue beyond gun calibration anyway. I mean, there's a happy medium between "romance proceeds unless you're a jerk" and "you have to be openly pervy/sexual in order to start something more than friendship." I approve of there being a fling available, but more than one is kinda... much, in my book. Especially since the appeal of aliens is generally personality.

JedTed--But not his other organs. :D I mean, come on, if you had the choice between a bodiless AI and a hot flesh and blood military hero with a toned body and a brilliant no-nonsense mind who is actually interested in you, which would YOU choose? He and EDI can always be BFFs, but he and Shepard could be more than that.

Mistress--*squeetacklehug* Hell YEAH! Even though he looks good in ME2 and there's narrative there, Joker is the man and there's just as much connection between Shepard and Joker as Shepard and Kaidan--if not more, since Joker actually stayed with you.

Dude, I'm a guy and I'm telling you. I
have a really hot femshep character I created and all I want to see is
her body and jokers smile hehe. She will let him take the top don't
worry so he doesn't break his bones. My femshepd doesn't mind staring
at the ceiling for joker. Besides, she just wants to hear what he says
afterwards. lol.

But I'm a guy and I'm saying this. Its not
about the sex. ITs about the relationship of the characters and I think
this romance would give ME 3 the final dose of awesomeness it needs to
truly make femshep legend!

I love your entire post. :D Thanks for the input! Guys who play FemSheps are awesome, and what you said about the relationship was even more awesome.

RAZZberree wrote...

Garrus, your awesome
and all but having a majority of the romance discussing us doing the
deed made me feel dirty and like the whole thing was more of a fling
anyway...

Hell yeah! That was so disappointing... I'll never understand why someone like Garrus was made an option like that. If I just wanted eye candy, friendship, and a fling, I'd go for Jacob. At least he takes his shirt off for the camera and you don't have to study his species' erogenous zones on a datapad first. Garrus was supposed to be more than that... I wish they'd picked somebody else for this. I mean, who is attracted to turians just because of how they look? Nobody. While Garrus is sort of cute about it and all, it was pretty disappointing and kind of creepy. Lampshaded, which is good, but still.

OMG, I love you SO much for this. This is exactly how I feel about this! REAL sex is better when it's slow, passionate, and tantalizing, not like porn where all they're thinking about is getting paid. It flows when you're in sync with the other person, and less is more.

I still can't believe that nobody, particularly Joker, ever says anything much about you being dead. It's just "oh, you're not dead." It was good that it happened off camera, but still... he should have said SOMETHING about it. Even just an awkward thanks.

I hope this means they're saving it for ME3, but I'm sort of feeling down about it after how little reaction there is in the game about the awesomeness of the explosive opener.

ITA. A woman like her not seeing him as being less than other guys would probably make his confidence soar. And it's almost NEVER done, that kind of relationship--a strong woman with a guy who had so many people look down on him. The tenderness between them would be moving.

I'm totally on board for him being bi, too. I think it would make a number of guys happy. It's about time we had a m/m option somewhere! Gay Dude!Sheps must be so lonely right about now. :(

Sazzrah--I think the brother/sister vibe is something that comes about because neither thinks of the other that way yet. He has brittle bones, she has a job to do and a mate who CAN have sex (presumably, either Kaidan/Liara or one of the others) and so I think they'd both put those kinds of feelings aside. He always assumed she just wouldn't fall for a guy like him, ESPECIALLY a guy who can't even get it on, and she's his boss. I can't see either of them acknowledging feelings they have every reason to believe are impossible, so you just don't let them grow.

When you look at the surface it seems pretty impossible... but impossible odds that you eventually find a way to overcome are incredibly romantic. Imagine what could happen if Joker suddenly found himself able to have sex. On a ship with a Commander Shepard who isn't currently involved.

I hate to say that I could only really see it happening towards the END of ME3, or maybe even after they've defeated the Reapers... but they should do that. They really should. Put in some tension-laced dialogue, really REALLY subtle and clever, and then let them get together once there are no more worries left about it interfering with their performance on an impossible and insanely important mission.

It would be so moving to see him finally be happy with Shepard.

Wynne! YOU ARE ONE OF MY PERSONAL HEROES WITH THAT POST! It's epicness was...epic.

Everything you said about Joker is what I feel! A possible romance with him would be so rewarding, like you said, he probably wouldn't think you'd be interested in a guy like him when you've got guys like Kaidan, Jacob, Thane, Garrus all running behind you, covering your flank and protecting you in the heat of fire. I'm sure Joker possibly feels like the underdog when it comes to that, the sickly little guy with the creaky legs who has a hard time just getting out of his seat, what could he possibly do to compete? For the first two games, Joker was probably just happy enough to feel valued and useful to the Commander, pretty much ignoring her short-comings and faults.

Something could click between the two between 2 & 3. They've been through such impossible odds together, Joker throwing himself out there when he hadn't needed to to, Shepard obviously DYING for him. It's quite possible that they can develop feelings for each other. What I'd like to see is Jeff continue to push himself to his limits for the Commander. I'd also like to see Shepard not be cold as ice and actually be able to laugh at him and crack more jokes.

I mean, a reason why I can see Joker not being interested is pretty much if you romance people or flirt around. He's pretty much the eyes and ears of the Normandy and seeing a person he may or may not have feelings for going about the ship and flirting and doing things with others is one of the biggest turn offs, plus I don't think the pilot would enjoy competing with a bunch of people that can run around waving guns in his face. I think if a romance is made available it should definitely have to do with you Shepard staying single (it'd be a hell of a reward for people like me that stayed single and didn't flirt for two straight games, hell of a lonely ride...), maybe Shepard being single in 3 will spark more interest.

I can definitely see something actually happening AFTER the reapers are destroyed, Jeff's a pretty level-headed guy and so's my Shepard, saving the bigger part of their feelings for after the oncoming threat would be rewarding should both of them survive. What would make it so enjoyable is, as Wynne has said 'tension-laced dialogue', just KNOWING something is there would keep things fresh and exciting and you never know what Joker has to say next! xD

It would just be so nice to have ANYTHING with Joker though, even a better friendship. <3

I support a Joker Romance. I play a male shepard as my main, but I also have a female shepard, and I have to say that so far, no existing femshep romance has caught my fancy as much as the prospect of the star-crossed love with my favorite bro. I mean, hell, there's more than enough subtext for it in ME2 if you squint, I think.

I fully support a Joker romance in ME3.

Razz and wynn I love you both. It finally makes sense to see people who want a real story about romance and not something just about. "Oh, yeah baby lets do it. You know do it?...." Yeah! Anyway, If we keep this conversation going we just might get a Joker romance. Now everyone. Keep posting and support the joker romance. Also spread the world. and Join the joker romance group. We might be small now, but right before ME 3 we are going to be massive. You know like mass effect. HEHE. Also if you didn't get it, It was a joke!

Quoted for Truth.

My husband got me with his funnies, and when I get mad, it is his humor that keeps me from being mad too long. Hard to scowl and smirk at the same time, and once you start laughing the anger just poofs away.

Here's how I see an EDI/Joker romance going:

EDI: Joker there's something I need to tell you.

Joker: Yes mom?

EDI: I love you Jeff.

Joker: o___________o

EDI: THAT was a joke.

Funny men are the shizznit, as the awesome as all heck Sar above said, it is truly hard to be sour when you've got funnies being thrown at you left and right. Relationships are at their best when people aren't going around happy-humping each other or staring luridly into each other's eyes whilst spouting romantic nonsense, but when you can make each other laugh. Those are always the best! <3

You know, I came in here to make a humor-laced comment about how Joker would break if he ever engaged in sexual intercourse, but it seems a few people wouldn't appreciate that. And I'm betting it's been said a couple times in these five pages.

So, I'll just leave without saying anything worthwhile.

EDI seems like the type that would prefer being the ship rather than a dinky little robot. Plus, she'd get significantly better remarks on her 'canons'.
