I do have to agree, why is everyone so concerned about how EDI feels? EDI would be more content messing with Joker I think. And if we're going to start saying certain things were meant for each other, I'm totally going to throw in some more examples.
-Tali is meant for Kal'Reegar, you can hear the tension in his voice when he calls her ma'am.
-I'd hate to come between Garrus and his sniper riffle, they were meant for each other.
-Jacob and Miranda are meant to be together, it's just fate, look at the way they stare luridly at each other. STOP ROMANCING THEM AND LET THEM HUG!
-That one crewman and that other crewman in the crew cabins are my OTP, the way they never work and sit at the same table 24/7 is love...RIGHT THERE. Them talking about home and family is totally just a cover, as soon as you leave the room they get nekkid.

Coming over from the ME comm on LJ, throwing in my support for the FemShep/Joker love. The snarky, awesome love.
Also, in reading over this thread and seeing many of the posts where people are going "no romance I can't bear to break up him and EDI/it'd be weird/no interest", I'm getting very confused. I have no interest in romancing Garrus, so I... just don't have my FemShep hit on him. Very easy. If you think that Joker and EDI have some kind of weird romance thing going on, great! Simply don't have your Shep hit on Joker and continue on with life. But why deny those of us who want the option?
[/introductory rant]
And now back to writing fanfic. Gotta do something to kill the time between now and ME3.

8D It's so nice to see people that GET IT!
'Tis exactly what I did. I liked Thane and all, but I had no interest in romancing him, especially since the romance dialogue option seemed a bit inappropriate for the nice conversation we were having. There he was telling me about his wife and then there was the option 'I want you Thane.' That creeped me out...And then Garrus. Anyway, before I ramble on about that. I agree, you don't want the romance, then don't pursue it, don't see why us Joker fangirls should be left out because people are apparently getting romantic readings from their interactions (which EDI blatantly dismisses as platonic rather than hormone enduced...by the way, she has no hormones...).
So until they put EDI into a real human body with a pulse and hormones, as far as I'm concerned, there is no "romance" there. And besides, if they put EDI into a human/robot body, how much do you want to bet all the people who are saying NO JOKER ROMANCE BECAUSE HE LOVES EDI will be pining for an EDI romance?

Why not a romance that doesn't involve sex? Most of us would rather see heated dialogue and flirtation as well as emotional development rather than a sexy time scene.
Because generally the children (age is irrelevant) playing this game cannot compute that there is more to romance than sex.

I'm not sure sex is impossible with Joker. Just not easy. But then sex with the alien LIs isn't exactly easy, and that doesn't stop them because they care about each other.KBGeller wrote...
Dialogue is a must. But I doubt they haven't already planned that as they did excellently in ME2. As far as romance goes, I find it unlikely. He will literally snap.
I originally thought his condition was a lot more severe, but then he's walking around all over in ME2. I mean, if he can put his whole weight on his legs without any visible braces and not break them, then I would imagine he could have sex, depending on the position and... stuff.
I do think it's possible. Will they do it, though? That's the question.

I wasnt referring to just sex. Generally romances you do things, and he certainly cant do much as gravity will snap his legs, tripping will snap his legs, a little rough play will snap something, etc etc. Unless he finds a very special mate who is VERY delicate with him in his whole life. He is basically unromanceable.

Sadly I have to agree with you on that one...;______;

I have to disagree with you on that actually. His condition isn't as severe as it may have been in ME1. He really won't snap that easily. Playing his little mission in ME2 kinda proves that, what with him hobbling all over the place in a frenzy, going down ladders, crawling through ducts and then being thrown onto his back. EDI implies that he may have suffered a few stress fractures, but that's pretty much it.
Of course you can't go jumping him like a maniac, but it's still very possible for him to be 'physical', especially if one has a very 'creative' partner.

I'm a doctor so, even if genetic pathology is not my field of specialization, I have an idea of what I'm talking about.
Vrolik's sindrome, or osteogenesis imperfecta type II, is the severe form of a disease with a wide range of clinical manifestation; normally patients with this kind of alteration die at birth or at a very young age due to the scarce formation of skull bones (and other problems which I'm too lazy to list) but, since Joker affirms that his condition has been cured with advanced teraphy and observing his physical appearence, I'm assuming that he can be compared to patients with less severe symptoms.
This people can have a normal life, work, marry, have children (and we all know where they come from, riight?), just take a look at wikipedia and you'll have your examples.
Conclusions: The doctor confirms that, if he's consenting, you can "blow off stress" together, no risk of allergic shock due to accidental ingestion of tissue and he won't even take pneumonia. Advise: take precautions or you'll have a surprise nine months after

You're my new favorite doctor! Thanks for that, even though I bet it's going to be ignored fully and we'll get twelve more posts after this saying 'LOL U GAIZ R GONNA BREEK HES PELVUS LOLOLLBBQ!!!!!11!!' >> That was painful to type...
Be careful, you might actually have to explain where babies come from now and confirm that there are less severe forms of love-making than what you see in pr0n!

The more people who hit this baby up the more we are likely to get a joker romance. We need to be loud and proud. Be polite when giving your support and have a clean debate. This is the reason why we need a joker romance for the femsheps. They got cheated out on in the ME 2 so lets give the ladies the coolest dude on the normandy. Are you with me?
I think if you tried to get freaky with him, the glass bones of his would shatter.

Joker should be EDI-exclusive. It just fits the story better. Try to manage with the two love interests in Mass Effect, the three in Mass Effect 2, and the more in Mass Effect 3.

How?
And what IF he's one of the new romance interests in ME3? EDI doesn't have hormones, she states that their interactions are platonic. Until ME3 comes out, there IS no EDI/Joker romance same as there's no Joker/Shepard romance. Saying that it "fits" the story better is like saying that making Garrus a romance option fit better with the story, though the romance was a nice little kudos from the devs to the Garrus fans, it definitely DIDN'T fit the story. Spending your time trying to figure out what the best position to get freaky with a Turian really didn't FIT the story.
And if your so worried about his "glass" bones, probably shouldn't let him get out of that chair at all, probably should just strap him in there.
