We should start posting Joker related stuff, like fiction and art from deviantart! I've seen alot of people that were completely against a Jokermance suddenly start batting for our team after reading a few nicely written fictions.

If the ladies get Joker us guys get the Doc. It's about the same situation, they're one of the first people we talk to in ME1, play a crucial but somewhat hidden role in the team and Shepard saved both their lives.

I'd date Chakwas. I'm down for that.

Lol...wow.
So, a few people actually want to push for an actual human male with personality as a prospective romance option and apparently it's 'wrong', but inter-species boneage and boffing a character that gets sick from a mere kiss is TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE. Joker IS capable of moving about, for goodness sake he nearly throws himself out of the airlock to make sure your Shepard gets their ass back onto the ship at the end of the game. Sex doesn't really seem out of the question and...how hard are you planning on banging him to shatter his pelvis!? o.O
Joker would make a great romance, and not all romances really need to lead to sexy time scene! People wanted Garrus because he was this awesome character with a great personality and depth, they wanted to romance him because he was badass. In the second one, you even tell Garrus you want to be with him because you want someone you trust. The same could be said about Joker, the two of you have been through hell and back together, hell you even DIED for him. Joker could have gotten a job as a pilot for any private companies for a good amount of pay, instead he went with Cerberus with his reasoning as 'they let him fly'. Cerberus wasn't the only one with a ship and he only learned about the Normandy the night before he saw Shepard again.
He signs on to Cerberus, I think not just because he feels he owes you, but he values you as a friend. It can be turned and written into this really great romance for the third game where, your going at the reapers, your most likely going to die and see the end of all organic life as possible and pretty much the only person (aside from Tali and Garrus) who has ever had your back no matter how crazy the situation, was Joker. I'd say that there's a lot more there than Joker lets on. Yes, it's trust and friendship, but wasn't that the basis that formed the whole Garrus romance?
Joker getting with EDI is...silly. Though, if anyone's going to romance the ship it's going to be me because the SR-2 is damn sexy.
Joker's love for the ship seems to come from the fact it's one of the only places where he's truly felt at home and accepted, it'd be nice if we could at least let him know that we feel the same and that anywhere that he and the Normandy is, is home.
^THIS
I totally agree with you one hundred percent Razz.
He has ALWAYS been there for you and unlike Kaidan doesn't give a flying **** that your working for Cerberus, hell the alliance screwed him over!
If I had the option to romance Joker i'd chuck Kaidan out the air lock for breaking my heart.
It could be one of those epiphany moments in ME3 like: "Wow, I never realised how much Joker has been there for me and stuck by me through everything, maybe there's something there..."
I could totally see Joker having unrequited love for Femshep but never saying anything because 'she is a hero of the galaxy' and he's just some lowly pilot, he might think he isnt good enough for her. And Femshep showing interest would blow him away, I could see this as a very good unexplored romance if Bioware does it right, I just hope they read this and take everything that everyone says into consideration.
As always, if its not for you you dont have to persue the relationships.
PS: As I think someone mentioned already, if they can bring Shep back from the dead, they could make Jokers bones stronger and I don't think a full on love scene would be Joker's style anyway, it'd probably be more like Thane's.

That's exactly how I see it, it would be interesting to see it done with a Shepard who has stayed single throughout the entire two games and then with one that has been with others. Joker's seen a lot of guys on the ship following Shepard to hell and back, these guys can be there if Shepard is hurt, they'll cover her in battle, take a bullet for her, I'm sure there's a part of Joker that would gladly do the same but he's completely unable. The best he can do is make sure the Normandy is there for you. To have the "epiphany" where you realize that Joker does more than 'just pilot your ship' would be so awesome! It'd be awesome to say, Shepard goes on a lone mission and gets stranded somehow and Joker's all like, 'EDI TAKE THE HELM' and flies the shuttle to Shepard personally.
I hope that Bioware sees this too, and at least considers it. I've said before, if the reason for a non-romance with Joker is because Seth Green doesn't want to do lines, I'm cool with that...but it would be so nice to hear SOME positive feedback, even just on a deeper Joker/Shepard friendship.

Since I don't have any noticable talent for drawing myself, but still want to support this thread with beautiful Joker fanart, I'm just gonna link to my favourite Joker/Femshep picture of all times again, copyright goes to Aimo (and I hope she doesn't mind):RAZZberree wrote...

I haven't been able to play that far into ME2 yet, but even from the little I've seen Joker is just wonderful this time around, even more hilarious and wise-cracking and dry-humoured-witty, pretty much every line that comes out of his mouth is 100% pure comedic gold.
And just the part in the intro is sooo heart-wrenching, where Shepard is blown away into space and Joker calls after her/him at the top of his lungs... from a romance standpoint, the utter anguish he displays in that "Shepard, nooooo!" scene could easily be interpreted as an intensity of heart-break going further than just the loss of a favourite commander/comrade
Also in that vein, and SPOILER ahead,
.

.
.
I've been naughty and already watched a video of the ending where Shepard doesn't make it, and it's the same there - the way joker desperately cries "No way, you're not doing this to me again!" as FemShep is hanging onto the side of the ship and getting ready to let go, it' just - well, let's say it gave me the same squiggly if tormented feelings as above, as if a loooot of romantic feelings could be interpreted into this passionate despair :innocent:

I'm generally not very active in forums, when it comes to pitching in my opinion due to lack of time mostly, but *this*...I HAVE to support this. I've played ME1 several times and I've already completed a quick play-through ME2. I'm a huge fan of the Mass Effect universe/setting and probably one with the fewest complaints. My ONLY and MOST EARNEST wish throughout the story was to be able to get closer to Joker, to finally be able to experience his personality and depth of thought behind the heavy mask of a simple comic relief device.
I can understand the difficulty some players have in taking Jeff seriously, with views ranging from adoration to neutrality (meh, he's funny) to downright annoyance. He's in essence a love-or-hate type of person and you can easily get confused about his motives and goals. It takes time and effort to understand him, to watch him and learn to read "behind the lines" as they say. Even then, he'll somehow manage to shock and surprise you. He is for me, the single character in any game I've played so far that can pack so much character under a thin disguise of cheerful immaturity, that after two whole games I still don't seem to fully understand him.
I'm glad that finally proper attention is drawn to him and hopefully it will have the desired effect. If *we* (his fans) do not speak, *he* will never be heard. He will pass on to the history of gaming as just another comic character.
My bemusement stops right about when I start reading some of the comments. People have used very strong words to describe the EDI/Joker relationship, words like: belongs to, is ideal for and even *engaged to* with comments summarizing a: "how can you be so mean as to get between them, they're obviously perfect for each other!"
Seriously people, has anyone even remotely considered what *Jeff* wants? The way I see it, it all falls down to his own choice in the end. We're not just talking EDI vs. Shepard here, even if all the Normandy's males/females where after him, he'd be the one to choose in the end (or choose no-one). It has nothing to do with anyone's personal views or morals on the matter, this is all about what Jeff wants and I want to find out what he wants.
The point isn't whether or not you hook up with him (if you do, all the best), the point is to get a chance to finally express your feelings to him, to look him in the eye and say "Listen, Jokey-baby, you make my world go round, deal with it!" no matter what the outcome, no matter if he chooses a krogan female over you! If he really wants EDI, he won't quit her, but if he wants you...don't you wish to know?
It just confuses me that people use EDI as a "shield' to not touch the Joker issue, that's what it seems to me.

There is a cybernetic upgrade available to strengthen bones, Shepard can research it during the game. Based on my drinking chat with the Dr C, I get the idea that Joker's problem isn't something that can be fixed by current medical science.

I love you, I don't care what anyone says. You got it. You got joker down to his core. What does he want? What does he want to do and will Doctor Chakwas let him do it? Remember she's on the normandy because of him now.
And f-joker. I want EDI for myself and all her delicious virtual Latina booty.

Thank you:) but I really can't go that far as to say I *know* Joker, I'm still figuring him out, probably always will be...
Oh, don't worry about the Doc, she stayed on because she misses the good old days, which include both Shepard and Jeff. Jeff's illness is what drives her, her anchor, her motive. I'm sure if Jeff feels happy with Shepard, she'll fully support it.
The strongest emotion I managed to accumulate for EDI, is mild annoyance at her familiar tone when she calls him *Jeff*
