If Shoker was canon, how do you think Hannah Shepard would respond to Shepard's boyfriend?

For those that don't know, Hannah is Spacer Shepard's mommah.

Lol, I didn't even realise Hannah was Shep's mom's name until AFTER I made a spacer called Hannah...



And my Hannah just so happens to be the one saving herself for Joker. xD Awkward...



I dunno, Shep's mum seems like a wise woman. She'd probably be able to see past Joker's assishness and just appreciate that he's a cool guy...

I'd play with the idea more if my main was a spacer. but she's a colonist (and sole survivor in accordance to the quote in my sig).



I think it'd be more the fact Hannah Shep is military and seems like a little of a hardass, and would see weakness in a cripple.

I don't think Mama Shepard would look down on a cripple if the cripple in question is someone like Joker, who doesn't let his incapacity control him.

She'd have to admire that, and see that his mind is as strong as, if not stronger than the average Alliance soldier. It's just his body that's not up to parr.

It's not as if he's a vegetable.
He's perfectly capable of vocal interaction with the rest of the world, and he can obviously be a productive member of society.
He just has trouble getting around.

I'm not saying he's worthless, but of course their are people within our culture (and probably the mass effect culture) that look down upon disable people. I think/thought it would be interesting if Shepard's mother, on a military opinion, would think less of Joker and thus Shepard's choice of mate. For a storyline point of view.

On an off-note: Why do you not like, "productive member of society?"  Is the term too generic?

No, it's offensive to all people who can't contribute, no matter how much they'd like to. It implies that anyone who isn't working their ass off is a drain on governmental resources, and that must feel just great for people who are confined to a wheelchair, or have cancer, or can't talk.

Either way, what do you think Shep's mum would think of Joker, if your Shep took him home for christmas? xD
