Who is your favorite new addition to the game? Not necessarily romance option.
Mine is Thane or Samara definitely. LLove both of their styles.

Thought I was going to hate Miranda (and did for the first part of the game!), but ended up loving her.
Mordin was awesome, but I knew I would love him.
Legion gets an honorable mention, he was cool but I had barely any time with him.

I didn't think I'd like Mordin. I was flat out wrong. It's fun to be wrong sometimes. Out of the NEW squad options, Mordin was my favorite.

Legion's like Vhailor in Planescape:Torment. Awesome character, too near to the end of the game to develop him enough.
Hopefully ME3 will provide the opportunity to develop him further.

Thane came in first with me, with Mordin being a very close second.

I really like Miranda for her Cerberus Operative ability to add to team health and damage as well as having Overload to get rid of shields and Warp to get rid of Barriers and armour. She also has the SMG which I find to be a pretty good all round weapon.
I also quite like Samara as she has good survivability which is helped by her Reave and she also uses an AR which can pump out the damage.
These are the reasons I took these two to the final battle in my first play through.

Mordin, no contest.
Samara isn't too bad either.

I'd have to say Mordin. Especially when he offered his assistance with my char and Tali.
Legion follows closely behind Mordin, and Grunt after him, then Jacob.... Really, I thought every character was awesome except for Zaeed, Jack, and Samara.

Gonna have to go with Miranda on this one. I never thought I'd say it but she turned out to be pretty good as a squadmate.

Jacob, Samara, Thane and Jack. I didn't really like Mordin, Miranda, Legion or Zaeed. I of course love Garrus and Tali. I didn't like Garrus in the first one but his alot cooler in this one and I like how Tali has grown up.

Miranda was the most useful, and its a toss up between Thane and Legion for the coolest new character.
Garrus will always be my go to Turian.

I thought I would hate Mordin too, but after using him a few times on missions I just found his comments hilarious.
"Thought I was harmless, did you?"
So my favorites would be Mordin and Miranda for now

Samara's really interesting, nice further exposition on some of the less well known aspects of Asari culture. I really like how much effort Bioware has put into the development of this whole universe, not just the plot.
I thought Mordin was going to be really annoying at first, but actually became a fascinating character, with moral dilemmas on a grand scale, lots of galactic history, and of course some Gilbert and Sullivan.
Miranda's decent. Increasingly good dialogue, although it did feel a little reminiscent of Ashley in ME1. Professional doing their job moving slowly to emotional attachment and attraction with Shepard.
Jack was interesting until the moment her loyalty mission was done. Then the whole quality of interaction seemed to drop off massively. Though I wasn't really pursuing as a LI so that may have had an impact.
Legion's too late to the party. There's not enough time for character development. Hopefully a taster for ME3.
Thane didn't seem that accessible to me. There's clearly a story there, but it was all a bit abstract.
Jacob is sadly underwritten and the most stereotypical "sci-fi/war character" in the game. He suffers from that, just a bit dull.
Zaeed's just a throwaway. Useful on mission, but pointless in roleplay terms.
...I even forgot Grunt on my original list. So I guess he didn't really do it for me as a character. I think Grunt progresses too quickly. It's like "vat grown...grrr...OK, I'm fully Krogan now". That story and character origin needed a much longer development.

Mordin is my new ship doctor. Chakwas can go out the airlock until she can come up with more than one dialogue option for me.
