Has anyone found a trainer for the Ranger specialization yet? I want to avoid paying 15 gold for a book if I dont have to.
Ranger spec only from a book?

Hmmm...that kinda sucks. And kinda unfair if others can train for free without having to fork out a huge pile of cash. Maybe the trainer just hasn't been found yet?

Let's just face it. The game isn't dalish friendly. No class skills that focuses on bows, no elven females, no ranger trainers...

Hey! My current guy is a human noble rogue, and he wants to be a ranger. That is racist saying only elves can be rangers!

You can just save before you buy it, save after buying it, and then reload your previous save to get any of the book specializations for free, without the need to go through the hoopla of impressing your companions and whatnot.
Word.

No elven females? Wow, that puts a weird spin on the Dalish camp. You guys take turns stuffing the fake bras or what?

Some spec's are attained from NPC's, some not.
It's pretty easy to get enough gold after doing some of the more intense dungeons, just save up and sell off useless gear.

Just use the cheat and give yourself the 20 gold if it is that big of a sacrifice in your eyes.

In all the previous Bioware games, especially NWN2, becoming a Ranger meant stating high Wisdom which meant becoming mediochre as an Archer. What does Dragon Origins do with Rangers? It just says you get Animal Companion(s).

Yep all you get are animal companions.
