I'm 33, and you're never too old to be playing games. People that say that either know nothing about games or they take themselves waaaaay too seriously.

Wow i read a few pages and it looks like im the youngest to post here (unless i missed one)

Im 18 (19 in feb) I am a Freshmen in college. Been a RPG fan since well before i can remember. When i was younger i could barley warp my head around the games but i still could not put them down. None of my friends can play these games and it saddens me that they just want to skip the dialogue and get straight to the action. I almost don't want to say this but i prefer the dialogue and i find myself wanting to skip the action scenes.

I just turned 30.  My husband (who's 40) and I are both avid gamers.  We met at a PnP game 11 years ago.  It's great to be married to someone who understands your addicition.  We're both wending our way through DAO right now.  The only downside to that is when we're both in the middle of a cut scene, and our 4 year old needs a glass of water.  "Hit pause when my screen loads, ok hun?"

Just turned 42 and I've been gaming since the early 80s. King's Quest 1 - 7, Empire, SimCity 1 & 2, System Shock 1, Civilization 1 - all great stuff.

BTW, a great way to earn brownie points with your wife might be,"I'll take care of the baby hun, why don't you ...(Pick some break type activity like take a walk, take a nap, you get the idea"). Put the baby in a carrier or sling, and sit down to enjoy some game time. The sling keeps the baby close to your chest, which they like, and give you both hands free for gaming. My husband did that all the time, and I still smile at the genius of that solution to the tired wife and lack of game time problems.

25, love RPGs, Shooters, and RTS, and combos of those too. Liking DA:O.

The idea of 'being too old to be playing games' is just as outmoded as saying 'in my day we worked for a living' and all that bollocks. It's just a form of entertainment, not something you need to be a certain age to do.

My girlfriend thinks I'm a bit nuts for how much I'm into gaming, but she's very big on people being allowed to indulge their interests in their spare time. Good for me :)

38 married with 2 kids. First computer game I remember playing as The Wonderful World of Eamon on an Apple II if I recall. I also have fond memories of playing the original MUSE version of Castle Wolfenstein in or around 1980. Of course all of the Sierra games as well as Lord British stuff, etc. Fulfilled my dream of working for a computer gaming company of which I did for more than a decade. Only own one console (Wii) for the kids, but am otherwise a pure PC gamer. I do admit to having owned the original Atari as well as Pong as a kid...

Like it or not there is a stigma attached to grown adults sitting in front of a computer or TV and escaping into fantasy land, one that somehow doesn't apply to other idle time wastage like watching movies or reading.

I see older men sitting in the internet cafe's playing Diablo or WOW and shudder at the thought that this could be me in a few years. It's unfair to feel that way, but I can't help it. I'm 30. I'd never talk about gaming to my female friends, it would look sad.

Just what are you supposed to do late in the evening anyway, watch TV? Apparently that's ok but games aren't, and I can't figure out why.

I guess when you're an adult you're only supposed to interested in career advancement, investments, paying a mortgage on some McMansion.. getting the trophy wife... so dullImage IPB

i'm 26. my gaming urges have dwindled over the last few years. i've sold my 360, xbox, ps2, and psx. not very many games interest me anymore. i don't see myself being much attached to pc games within 10 years.

i wish work would pick up. if it did, i'd have little reason to play videogames during my off-time. i work to live, and i live to work. i don't want to live to be so old that i need assistance wiping my own ass. i hope i'm dead before i'm 70 years old and always pissed off.

I'm 32, married with 2 kids.

My mother-in-law once complained to my wife that I spend to much time on the computer. My wife replied "At least he is home when I need him and not down at the bar like 'someone else'." So if anyone with a family feels bad that they might be on the computer to much, or someone complains about it, think about this.

It makes me feel better that there are a lot of adults on here. By some of the posts I read I wasn't sure. :)

i agree i find tv boring, games and films are more entertaining. i think anyone who complains about games are wrong to do so. gaming is a hobby for people (like myself), i look at it that if you dont play games what are you going to do watch tv or even worse drink everynight which in the long run wont be a healthy option. Also alot of people come home from a hard days work and crack open a bottle of wine or beer, thats up to them but that aint a hobby and it cetainly aint a way to live your life.

Video games are my alcohol.  I'm addicted, they make me relax, and when I'm into a game, all of lifes problems go away.

Hello everyone my name is LordFess I am 56 and I am just as adicted to computer games now as I was addicted to Pinball ,Slot Car Racing, Foosball,Air Hockey, Electronic Darts,Atari Game Console and on and on back when I was a young whipersnapper.............. I have been playing PC games since I got my first Windows system in 1995.........and am enjoying it as much now as I was back then!!! My only regret is that i wish I had more time to play. Work takes up most of my time.......

When I get home at night I sit down with a Coke and a large bowl of buttered popcorn and watch a couple hours of Fox News and then it's off to the computer for my nightly gaming session that many time stretches  to 2 and 3 AM in the morning. Why it fasinates me so much I really don't know.
