I'm 38 with a 5 year old son. We play (some, not this one) games together. Selling gaming to a wife who stopped playing video games was not easy ... but it's all about maintaining balance.

Grats in advance on your impending fatherhood.

32, still gaming and have plenty of friends my age that still play games, games are just another form of entertainment, like movies or music.

You are all fine, Built4thekill, i'm 27, father to two childs and i play. Intend to do so for the time usually described as foreseeable future. Well, even unforeseeable, if you ask me.

Congrats from me as well. =)

Only 16. But its stupid to say someone is too old for games, or any hobby for that matter.

i'm 33, i've been gaming practically since i could walk... and i don't expect to stop because some kid or some uptight busy body tells me i shouldn't. Gaming is a great way to relieve the stresses that come with being a responsible adult, so go on and enjoy it :)

I'm 25, I've known plenty of people in their 30s who were still playing games and they weren't what I would classify as nerds. They weren't rpg fans (except one and they might be slightly nerdy...) but the others were perfectly fine and successful. The idea of gaming to them didn't seem like an issue at all.

I'm 21 not that old but in my opinion if you like something you don't give it up. Honestly I can see my self as an 80 year old man with a walker going into my local game store to buy this game.

yeah i have a complex - I'm 28, married and expecting my first kid. So I'm making the most of it - Again and again and again:unsure:
Everyone says I'm too old to be playing "games". ...So give me some reassurance here!! This games has a "mature" rating doesn't it?

And I'll bet some of those same people think it's perfectly legit to sit in an arm chair and watch football, basketball or baseball from youth to old age with no complex at all, and they're not even participating.  They are watching other people play a game, lol.

Look, I've been playing video games in one form or another since elementary school.   I will play them, like many others until old age.  I am 41.  Just like watching sports,  video games appeal to all ages, however, generationally speaking, it is a fairly new form of entertainment.  If your family and friends don't play them, they are probably going to consider them toys, rather than a viable form of entertainment just as valid as literature or cinema.  Mark my works, in 10-20 tears time we will see games with the same writing /acting quality as any novel or movie.  We are already seeing the beginnings of it.  Mature gamers are demanding more depth and greater quality of storytelling.  And the most respected companies out there are going to deliver.

So don't worry.  In time the stereotype you're concerned about will be shattered.  I'm a first generation gamer who grew up with them, and you can have my copy of DA:O when you pry it from my cold dead fingersImage IPB

I'm 29, with girlfriend, and don't plan on stopping playing games any time soon. Its about balance. Who's telling you you're too old? If they're not 70 yet, tell them they're too young to be this crotchety! Lol.
