How old a Warden are you?

I have to say, my wife has been giving me a lot of crap about playing Dragon Age the last few weeks. I end up pausing the game and going AFK for hours because I have some errand or another to do. She keeps telling me "our child won't be a baby forever, but the game is always going to be there" She doesn't seem to understand how much it helps me relax to do it for a few hours after a long day at work.
The funny thing is my wife used to be a PnP D&D player, something I personally never did. Heh.

I just turned 24, as far as I'm concerned Built, we come from a different generation. We grew up with Nintendos and Genesis being more than just something only a few people had to being something just about universal. Those who say you're too old to be playing games fall into categories:
1) They never played or never were serious gamers
2)They're older than you
In the first category, what can you do? In the second its hypocritical at times. My mother likes the Nintendo Renegade(I will forever refuse to call it the Wii)
You, sir, are either terribly misinformed, were dropped on your head too many times as a child, or are just naturally simple. I am 31, and I am racking my brain trying to remember any of my friends FROM FIRST GRADE who didn't own a Nintendo or Sega. There weren't any. The OP is three years younger than I, so I'm sure video games were effectively just as ubiquitous in his childhood as they were in yours.
We just didn't get to play them as much because we had to help our moms churn butter...

if I go with the "Be everything except what you are" attitude and say "40 is the new "30" I'm 32, but if "30" is the new "20", then I'm 22.
If I go with the Dr. Oz method I am 50.
If I listen to Opra I am dead
If I listen to my children I am "Older than dirt"
If I go by "You are as old as you feel" bs, I am 35
If I guage my age by wisdom, experience, and common sense I'm 150

As with many of you, my gaming days started with Commodore Vic 20, C64, Atari's and Radio Shack TSR's. My first RPG, however, was Baldur's Gate so I was late to the game on that front.

Sub note: don't your wives have dumb hobbies? Mine does and therefore accepts me for my goofy gaming goodness. Also, she finds the accents hilarious.

SNAP!
LOL spooky, I am 28, married and we are expecting our first child. My wife Rolled her eyes when I said DAO had been delivered. She has "accepted" this game because I've been busting my hump in decorating/ doing up the house for the Baby.
She doesn't say I am too old (that much) but says they are a waste of time (which is rich because I know when the next Half -life comes out she will be on it like a whippet).
Yes this game is for us my man, it's our last gasp before our world changes.
Seriously it's down to balance with RL imho - I can't do 8 hours in front of a computer any more makes my head hurt, besides it's good to keep the brownie points up.
Salute and congrats on your Child!
(ours is a boy and I've alredy been told of for plotting to corrupt him into the Video gaming world "at least wait until he can focus!"

My wife doesn't play computer games, but she's fine with my obsession. I don't really watch much tv, so this is how I entertain myself.

Personally, the video games are cheaper then going out to a movie or dinner... and less stressful

40 here. Also have great memories of playing on the Commodore PET, VIC20, and C64. TRS80 too, of course.
Cut my teeth on Scott Adams adventure games and never looked back. Will play CRPGS for as long as they care to make good ones.

41 years old here. Been playing computer games since I was 12 (Commodore VIC-20, ftw!) I am married and have a beautiful 4 year-old daughter that loves computer games just as much as I do. Wizard 101 is her favorite game, at the moment. I firmly believe that you're never too old for games.

I am 17 and trying to juggle my love of gaming with high school, girls, and NJROTC... Can get a bit hectic at times! Thank god for holiday vacations.
Also eagerly awaiting the release for ME2
Have been gaming since I could remember, started with a N64 and haven't looked back since.
