I'm a mass effect 1 fanboy. I loved all the technical improvements to the game (and the sense of humor), but EA really ****ed this thing up. As always they love to be the public kissbutt with no individuality.
Example: heat clips? appearently guns cannot cool off on there own anymore.
They screwed up the lore, and story. and failed to create personalitys.
Congrats EA, you've screwed up another game.

In fact, one of the developers said in the old forum that EA gave creative freedom to Bioware....

Because EA sees the potential in the ME series and provides a much larger budget than Bioware could manage on their own.

Creative freedom as long as they met the deadlines and spent ZERO money on the project.

EA: "Do whatever you think is best.. as long as it's done in 2 weeks and you spend all the development money on advertising and skip the major RPG elements because they will take too long and cost too much money, you have full creative freedom."

*facepalm*

Yes, lets all blame EA, and not realize how video game development actually works!

EA doesn't make the game, they honestly don't even have any say in how the game is made at all, there are no shadowy EA members walking amongst the Bioware offices looking for people to yell at, or to tell them not to do anything, all EA does is give Bioware a giant lump of cash, a rough date on when they want to see results, and then when the project nears fruition, they strap their logo on it, and set up an advertising campaign.

All the negative things in this game? Bioware came up with those, all the short DLC? Yeah, Bioware came up with that, the fact nobody really comments on Legion being there? Thats Bioware, the lack of nudity? Once again, Bioware.

On the other hand, all those commercials and ads? Thats EA.

Ummm no, they took out the RPG elements because people complained about them on these forums after the first game came out.

Wow if Bioware could walk on water we'd have a bunch of people mocking them for being unable to swim.

There was really nothing in this game that I liked less than the first. I'll even take scanning over spending 3 minutes trying to get the Mako up a cliff.

I'd love to see the reactions of the BioWare employees who read these forums. It must be something like this:

*Throws hands in the air* "Good lord. We can't make these people happy! How many more things are they going to b*tch about? I mean, really?! You don't like this, so we change it. What's that? Now you're mad because we changed it?!" *Shakes head* "I give up with these people."

I like how everyone's all PO'd bout Thermal clips... I mean really, wow. It's not even a changing factor in the game, you just can't spam like a madman now.

So true!

In my opinion everything is better in ME2. Onlything I wish they did was give us back more of our original squad.

Not very bright are you? Specially as your claim of major RPG elements being taken out is a load of BS as I proved in 'The Little Things' topic.

In my opinion the gameplay for Mass Effect isn't centered around ammo.  I don't mind reloading, which I can understand ejecting a thermal clip, but I feel ammo was a problem.  I think the only weapons that should have had ammo were the heavy weapons.  I would have rather seen a "Flush" system that the weapon overloaded and you flushed the weapon with coolant.  This would have been the reload timer, but still not need ammo.  Unlimited ammo, but you needed to flush/vent the weapon after x amount of rounds.

I found looking for clips tedius and a detractor from the gameplay.

Really, thermal clips add a tactical element to the game. No more running and gunning. Fine by me.

lol they saw it coming the game salesman on the citadel says
"I wish they made roleplaying games like they used to. these days it's all big choices, and viceral combat. I miss those old games when you had to remember to drink water, and it took five hours real time to fly somewhere."

And here I enjoy this iteration of the game better than the first.

Just a few examples here:

No hellish inventory management to do, indoor side missions aren't using the same maps, more focus on character development, don't have to run around the ship to see if someone is ready to talk to me thanks to my secretary, and the email system allows NPCs to further develop the story by providing feedback when you affect their lives.

I really don't mind that I now have to do some ammo management.
