So did anybody actually think that the resource scanning mini-game was fun?

Personally I thought that it was the most pointless waste of time I've seen in a recent game. It made me almost groan from boredom. Just having a "scan" button like in ME1 was a much better option IMO. Thoughts?

EDIT: Added a poll here.

Found it fun the first time...after that, it was repetitive...

I liked it. Nice change of pace from the nonstop shooting, and you could do it or not as you liked.

I liked it. I would hate to do it on 360 though

Except that you're not sitting outdoors with your buddies drinking beer. Take that part away and fishing is the most mind-numbingly boring activity known to man. :P

You mean when you scan for minerals on unexplored planets? I thought it was ok..that's something I'd put my 9yr old up to ROFL..here son, do this for me for a minute..while I get a drink or something :].

So if you have kids, employ them for that mundane task!

I liked it on my first playthrough, now that I'm on my second, I find myself avoiding it as much as possible

My cat thought it was really exciting when the scanner hit a spike and did that ticking sound.

Infinitely better than grinding the MAKO over the 900th hill that's exactly the same as the other 899.

Actually, you had to do it if you wanted any upgrades or for your squadmates to survive the final battle.

I like the concept, in general. I feel like I spend too much time doing it though.

I do miss the MAKO, though.

Meh. It's two minutes of my life at most. I can probe a planet while waiting for something to be done in the microwave or something.

I wouldn't really use that word to describe it honestly. Though it's light years better than the mineral searching from ME1.

Until about the 30th planet or so.

I liked it. But I'm a nutcase....so yeah. I didn't find it any more boring than driving to a rock, doing little insert the pin game to place a flag.

I would have like to have missiles that were animated like the probes did, when fighting the collector ship...

Better than going up 89 degree cliffs. I would not recommend doing it unless you need resources for specific upgrades though. It'd get tedious whenever I didn't have a clear goal in mind.
