They surely are but players have only access to coalesced.ini file. Advanced settings are hidden deeper in game.

Hmm.. interesting. I used the collector gun in the beginning of that part, simply because the husks were taking out my guys in just a few seconds. I have Zaeed and Miranda, since they both can damage armor well, but Miranda has that whole "I'm gonna stand up on stuff and get killed" thing going on which I don't understand.

There's a lot of ways you can cheese this game. For example, a buddy of mine spent 2 hours or more trying to kill Jedore. He'd go into the room and try to "hold the line". What I did instead was I hid behind the door (for some reason it doesn't lock behind you) and picked off the Krogan one at a time as they went up the ramp on the other side (very far away from me). The mech will stay at the bottom and won't come up. You can actually kill the mech from the door without it being able to fight back.

Wow, that's not how I did it at all. I placed my guys on either side of that half-wall behind all the pillars (the "line"), and moved side-to-side myself trying to stay away from the Krogans. So, are they not on infinite respawns? ...because no matter how many Krogan I killed there was always another one.

Which part of Horizon are you having trouble with? Defending the turret control or before then?

Defending the turret. No matter how many I kill they just seem to keep coming. I actually got down to what I thought were the last couple of collector guys (and of course my squadmates were dead), and then three more collectors just spawn out of nowhere, killing me in about one second. I was pretty pissed.

Hah!
I just watched a few youtube videos of people playing on Insanity (with a new character), and it seemed like cakewalk compared to Insanity in game+.

It's not even funny how much more damage level 30 fully upgraded baddies do to lvl 30 Shepard w/o any upgrades.
And how little damage he does.

Nah it's not infinite spawns. They come out of containers. Once the containers are empty there's no more.

Basically all I did for this one was I'd start off near the entrance for the first wave of Husks. I'd just let my team mates die to Scions (honestly they always came out of cover and got hit by the scions no matter what I did so I stopped carring after they died a second time). Then I just kited the Husks around while dodging the Scion attacks.

As for the collectors, I found them to be much easier. Just find a spot that has cover, and you can camp out all day. Just make sure none sneak around you (doesn't happen often in this game). There's no time limit so you can just slowly pick them all off. If the Harbinger charges towards you, he's a free kill. Which means 1 dead collector really fast for every one he takes over.

Camping out is probably the best way to go about it. I did this with my squad members dying every time they got resurrected and just not caring about bringing them back. If you worry about keeping them alive I can see this fight being frustrating.

If you have the 360 version, post your Gamertag. Mine is AlphaJarmel and I have all achievements unlocked. If you're saying to add shields and barriers to husks then you're full of crap and vomiting it out.

I have the PC version.

Why am I full of crap? Doing this wouldn't make it impossible to kill them. It would actually threaten my ammo supply. You can still run in a full circle and kite them around. They should rarely ever hit you (if ever).

There's only a couple of places that Husks are actually dangerous.

I did the Husk side mission (the one where they constantly spawn until you kill the final objective) with at least 15+ Husks chasing me around. When I found out you had to blow up the generator (never did this mission on my normal play through) I just ran in, blew it up, and won. The Husks could never hit me.

I fail to see what the problem is making them more durable.

Horizons can be the toughest map in the game, depending on your class/squadmates. Ideally you want at least level 4 incinerate and level 4 warp accessable from your teammates, but you could proabably swing it with rank 3.

If you play a class that doesn't have an "oh crap button" (soldier, sentinel, infiltrator), you should try to make your camp up on the platform on the left as you walk in. Some husks occassionally spawn on it, so you have to keep watch for them. Fight from there and you wont have to worry about collectors flying in behind/on the side of you and instantly killing you.

Again take some pics or post a video if you're on PC as I think you're full of BS.  Then go play Insanity+ with an Adept.  Husks are annoying as it is and adding anything else would make them ridiculous.  So again go play Insanity+ and shut up.  Yes certain parts are easier than others but every game has that.  That's like some idiot saying COD4 should have a time limit on every level like "No Fighting in the War Room".

Your final comparison is terrible.

Why do I need to show you anything? Just try it. Go to a fight with a bunch of Husks and kite them in a circle using storm to gain distance. Watch in awe as none of them hit you and you pot shot them to death.

Or hell, let's look at some of the other missions. Oh noes Husks appears on the derelict reaper! Oh wait... I got an entire hall way to kite them across. Let's lead them back to the entrance!

Sounds like hard stuff to me.

That's the whole bloody point. If they could outrun you then most of the classes would be screwed and the game would be impossible. Engineer would be done straight off the bat, Adepts would be dead, Infiltrators might get lucky,Sentinels would deal with 20 husks chipping away at their armour, Vanguards would probably have the easiest time.

And again all you have to do is show some screen captures which are dead easy to do.

So either way just go play Insanity + which is pretty obvious you haven't done yet.

Saying I haven't done it just makes you look dumb. :/

This means that I have to do another play through to get to the Husk sections just to take screenshots for you. I use 1-2 saves all the way up to the end of the game. 1 save is right before the final boss. The other is after it.

When I do another play through, I'll remember to take screenshots for you. I don't know how taking screenshots is going to prove that I kited the Husks around though.

Btw I never asked for Husks to out run you. Watch HOW they run. Watch HOW they swing. It's easy to have one swing at you and completely miss. I know they're going for the whole "OMG SPACE ZOMBIES!" thing but seriously... it's a little far.

Why do OP need to prove anything to anyone?

I also wouldn't mind more challange in game. It's not that I'm trying to convince anyone that game is too easy. It's my opinion, my problem and I'll mod the game to my liking.

If you have different opinion that's perfectly fine but don't bash others for having different needs.

I'm not purposely trying to bash anyone. I'm arguing with people that are telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about and have never played insanity.

It's just funny some times seeing how far some people will go to flame you. "YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT LIKE OMG GIVE ME SCREEN SHOTS THAT WILL SHOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!"

Btw if you manage to mod the game to make it harder (without it being stupid cheesy) I'd love to grab the mod off you.

The reason he needs to back up his earlier statement because it's full of BS. Saying you did it isn't evidence that you actually did. Anyone who's played Insanity would be aware that certain classes that don't run and gun would be screwed with the husks and making them more annoying with a faster speed and shields would be making the game impossible. It's called making the game doable. That's like some idiot beating Mile High Club in half a minute and then saying to reduce the time in half for everyone just so it's harder. Insanity + exists for that reason though so again go play Insanity +. The AI on certain species such as the Geth are already fine on Insanity as they rush you at the appropriate times and numbers.

I'm creating new topic now with guide how to mod varius things in game. I could post ready coalesced.ini file but I think this file differ depending on game options or DLC. I for example have only Terminus armor DLC and player with other DLCs might lose them installing my ini.

I never said anything about increasing their speed.

Sorry man but if you're having trouble with Husks I don't know what to say to you. What kind of proof would you like? A screenshot of my achievement?

My gripes about the Geth rushes are that they can be taken down before they reach you. Same deal with Krogan. If you actually had to watch your sides you'd have more trouble stopping rushes, hence it becoming harder.

In general the AI (no matter what species) is extremely stupid.

Hide behind cover AI.
Rush you AI.
Use random ability AI.

All of which are predictable.

Oh yeah then there's Husk AI, which I'm 100% sure is INTENTIONALLY supposed to be dumber than the standard rush you AI.

Insanity+ doesn't offer stronger enemies, it just strips you off upgrades. Don't upgrade yourself on first playthrough and you'll get NG+ gameplay experience.

I also don't think that increasing enemy speed is a good idea but there are lot of ways to increase difficulty and we are brainstorming here. "Hey, maybe we should increase enemy speed", "How about we make them shoot with higher accuracy". First we need all kinds of ideas, then we'll think which of them are viable.

I haven't seen the Geth acting better than anyone else on Insanity, but that's just me.

And yes, support classes such as engineer and sentinel I can certainly see being useless against a lot of stuff on Insanity.  The game's a TPS once you leave conversation; the fact that they designed it as such, and didn't figure out a way to make the non "run and gun" classes function well within that environment on higher difficulty levels, is a separate issue.

Flash,

Is it possible to make the NPCs hide under cover until they fully recover HP/shields? That would force you to have to take them out asap or run the risk of losing all your ammo.

Yes a picture of your achievements would work. Second of all which class were you? Third of all your complaint about the husks would really only be solved by making them faster(that you can back up a hallway and shoot them as you go back). 4th of all each species has a different AI and act in a different manner, there is a reason why Krogans rush while other species don't.

@Khavos

The Geth Hunters are pretty smart on the smaller maps where they straight up rush you with two other Geths in two which is the correct strategy.

Can't find anything related to AI behavior yet. Probably nothing can be done about it.
