Killed the Thresher Maw on insanity+ last night with adept.
That was fun.
Adept (not starting the debate here too) rocks in insanity.
The hardest part so far, was right at the starting few areas, before I got some upgrades back.
Now that I have 40% biotic damage etc again, I'm clearing house.
Can chain paralyze any enemy with singularity regardless of shields, so it's back like Jade Empire with Storm Dragon/Paralyzing palm. Loving it.

I'm going to have to try that. I've been spamming Warp mostly (seems to be doing a great job vs armor/health and totally destroyed the Vorcha on Mordin's mission).

My squad Garrus/Grunt didn't even die.
That's where I get my main challenge, keeping them alive.
You can actually do it, if you use Q and E a lot.
Also, you won't paralize them totally, but in a sense. They stand there wiggling around trying to break out of the gravity pull, so basically no shooting etc at you while they do it. Once you get the biotic dmg upgrades etc again the DoT is fairly nice too.

If you insist on using the cheapest possible way of defeating your enemies, of course it's going to be easy. And your World of WarCraft reference speaks volumes about your mentality and play style. These types of games clearly aren't for you.

So the cheapest possible way of winning is using built in game mechanics (ie: Cover) and picking things off (like you're supposed to)? I'll be damned.

I agree, adept are a bit too strong on
insanity, they should have singularity not work on enemies with
defenses. This would bring the class more in to line with the shooter
classes. Adept is just a powerhouse on insanity and sorta ruins the fun
of the game. I've played infiltrator on insanity but they are fine
since you can run out of ammo for the widow. Singularity/Warp never run
out of ammo.
Good idea. Since on insanity ALL enemies have shields and armor, and biotics don't work on shielded enemies, let's also make singularity useless to leave adept with only 1 power to spam 99% time in the game. That would be fun!
Not.

I've never ever played WoW but groundless accusations are the way to go.
What does cheapest way of defeating enemies mean? You mean using tactics, powers and weapons? I agree that we could try to melee all enemies instead. That wouldn't be cheap.

Its silly dying because your squad mates do NOTHING, but eat up medi gel, stand still, take forever falling back after call them too you. Squad mates were help full in Mass Effect 1, why are they so dumb in Mass Effect 2?

They were JUST as dumb in 1, if not more...things just didn't kill them as fast and you could kill things like a rampaging semi truck careening down an overly steep mountain road filled with tiny sedans.

The problem is , why are squad mates so weak and useless in this game? Thats my problem with Mass Effect 2. In Mass Effect 1 squad mates were with you. If you pointed and told them were to go they would go. In mass Effect 2 there is a delay on what ever command you give them.
Both games require teamwork , ME1 had good teammates, while ME2's are dumb and slow. Pretty much you versus 5 to 6 guys with sheild and armor all by yourself. Using medi gel is a joke, because as soon as you use it to heal your squad members they die just as fast as they get up.

No idea...kinda irritating at some points, felt like I was soloing a lot of the game on Insane, but if you get the right ones they can sometimes be useful. Either Tali and Legion or Legion and Thane/Garrus/Zaeed. Constant drone spam so the enemies don't shoot you, or focus fire sniping on a target that makes it melt away.

Would have to agree. I stopped caring and didn't res my team mates after a while. Just left them dead and solo'd everything. I love watching Miranda go to cover where I tell her to, only to lose her shields, then pop out to shoot and take 3 rockets in the face.

The whole cover and shoot at Shepard thing by humanoids is predictable. Very few NPCs try to sneak up behind me (in fact I don't think any do, at worst you get the ones that charge you... like the Krogan, but you just have to focus fire them first and they're no problem).
This game would be a LOT more challenging if NPCs actually attempted to flank you. Flanking is death on Insanity. If they tried to do that you'd at least have to keep an eye on all of them and take them out before they got around you.
Your squad is totally unnecessary in ME2 as well. No incentive to keep them alive aside from being cannon fodder and clearing rooms faster. Soloing everything is quite possible.
What game are you playing? My enemies made ample use of flanking tactics.
On normal difficulty.
And I made ample use right back.

Oh noes, you adapted to the difficulty, and demand Bioware make it harder. Insanity is fine. At least it is actually challenging for most players, instead of the drooling tedium of enemies with a billion HP as in ME1. If it's not hard enough for you, then pat yourself on the back, because you're either very skilled, very adaptable, or both. This will always happen, with any difficulty that isn't designed to actually make it impossible to win. Bioware is very unlikely to retroactively add yet another difficulty.
So you consider rarely ever dying and soloing most of it "adapting"? Never res'ing my squad because I couldn't care less?
If you say so...
IMO it's plenty hard enough... so long as your not replaying with a
character you've already beaten the game with on an easier setting...
if you want to start the game over and bump up the difficulty roll a
new character... I don't think enough people did this in ME1... I found
ME1 very challenging with a new 1st level character... in-fact I could
only beat this way playing the solider class.
First play through on Insanity I started at level 1.

It's actually the other way around. If you want really the hardest difficulty setting, import ME2 character and start new game on Insanity. You have no upgrades, but your enemies do so first part of the game is teh hardest and it gets easier and easier...but still harder than Insanity from low level (new game or ME1 import).

Sorry that's what I meant I wasn't discussing the virtues of importing vs. not importing. I meant I beat ME2 with this character now I am going to beat it again on insanity... oh wait a minute why isn't any harder?
OP says he was playing with a new (imported or not I'm not sure) first level character... so I don't know what to say... other than, again, I found it plenty hard enough...

If you can figure out how to exploit the stupid AI and abuse the cover system like mad the game becomes ridiculously easy
Keep in mind this is using THEIR game mechanics (Bioware expects you to use cover). It's just little things like...
On Horizon I was fighting a Scion with my Adept. I just walked around a box while it slowly came after me and shot its side. It died without getting to shoot back. That's kind of expected of a Scion's AI but sadly almost all of the mobs are like this. None of them even try to charge you to finish you off when you're 3 feet away under cover and have 5% HP left (unless they're specifically programmed to be charge NPCs).
