Everytime I come out, this thread has grown by leaps and bounds!

I think I'm spending a bit too much time obsessing about Kaiden.   Evidence:

.....Husband comes home, finds meplaying ME1, says, "ah...needed some Kaiden time?  He looks better on the new (big screen) tv, doesn't he? and goes out of the room snickering...

....Caught myself calling the dog "Kai Kai" instead of his real name.

....Found my self checking this thread at least 5 times a day for new pictures

...Spent the afternoon reading fanfic (btw, Michelle7 and Sweetpie - loved your stories!)

:lol:Okay I haven't go so far as to call my dog Kai Kai yet.

I glad you liked the fic...thanks for letting me know.

Thank you for the fun read this morning. I left to go play Call of Cthulhu last night at a friend's house and the post went from 100 to 107 posts. And when I got home there was all this stupid snow on the ground (in South Carolina of all places), and one of our dumb neighbors had left their poor dog out in the snow. :(

So thank you for the nekiid Kaidan pics.

i really would like to see some other romances in the game i thought that maybe Jacob and Miranda will be have a thing but no, i also had feeling that Kal had something to Tali would be great  to see that or have talk with tali about difficult relationships
If the devs give as more bromances or sisteromances (??) some characters would be liked more
there was nothing to talk with miranda or jack after loyalty mission no new options

I had the same thoughts, then the cameos came in ME2. I will *not* get the paramour achievement with a femShep. End of story. :?

same here...no paramour achievement at all

Ditto on my Live tag, still far away from ME2, have to go through ME1 first just for that tag. But oh the horror of having to listen to and look at Kaidan for hours ;)

Not even going to talk to Jacob because Shep's opening line makes me feel unfaithful hehe...yes, it's that bad.

Well, there will never be a female Shep character of mine involved with anyone other than Kaidan. I was not interested in Liara romantically, and the LI for females is just terrible in ME2. I am not interested in Thane, Garrus, or Jacob.

If I ever play a male Shepard, I may get through ME1 single - and I may then pursue someone - but not sure if any of the female LI are the kind of LI I want.

Yeah, ff.net is riddled with Garrus and Thane fics. I'm glad to see that there has been an influx of Shenko as well.

Anyone who wants to write Shenko should try it! We need more Kaidan love :P

I agree with that...I love reading them as much as I do writing them. I'd love to see a lot more of them.I wasn't aware that a lot of Thane and Garrus fics had flooded Fanfic.net. I never read anything but Shenko or Kaidan-centric fics so I never really noticed.

And whoever was talking about writing from  Kaidan's perspective...I've always found it much easier to write from the male perspective for some reason. Little weird when I think about it.

I think we deserve an achievement for *not* getting the paramour achievement. Maybe "Celibate until ME3" or something like that. :D I would love to at least get some ingame acknowledgement other than the scene with the picture before endgame.

We don't get post game cuddling, I think we deserve some sort of compensation!

I find it funny the men get all of the Rating rapport mature stuff in their scenes and in 2 out of 3 we get 'romantic' stuff. Just want to say I like my sexy stuff as much as some of the guys out there, thank you very much! Holding hands and touching foreheads is cute and all, but again the scene from ME1 is where it's at.

Wouldn't mind holding Kaidan's hands when talking to him, nor would I mind him comforting Shep with something cute followed up by a kiss...but not in the grand finale lovescene as Bioware seems to stage them.

Now that I'm replaying ME1, I have this wish to see a lot more of physical contact between Shepard and Kaidan but don't dismiss any of the sexy stuff because for some reason people think women all want the touchy feely sensitive stuff ;) I am going to be demanding and say I want both sides of the coin...there you have it...I said it.

I need to go back to my tv and watch more Kaidan *giggles*

To utterly misuse a developer quote, I agree that the key word with the new romances Mass Effect 2 throws at you is "compelling", because I definitely felt very compelled to avoid them.

One thing I love about ME2, Paragon Shepard is very huggy! So maybe when Shepard makes it back to Kaidan, we'll see much more affection between them. This thought makes me happy :)

Replaying ME1 is slightly awkward, espectially when trying to use cover O_O

I agree with that...it would have been nice to get an achievement for faithfulness...it's definitely harder to do than getting the paramour one since it's so easy to fall into the romance options.

Didn't they kinda do the renegade and paragon love scenes differently this time around...maybe a renegade one with Kaidan might be a little more aggressive than a paragon one. More than one Love scene with Kaidan is always better.

While I do understand the reasons for it not being there, as I think every single achievement in the game is self-contained within that game (ie: a Faithful achievement would require you to have Mass Effect 1, while the others can be completed with Mass Effect 2 only), having an achievement for it would be amusing.

We are in agreement, I think - Liara was just waaaay too serious for me. Sure, the first talk with her is funny because you keep twisting her words and she keeps being flustered about it, but after that it's all reaaaaally serious heavy things all the time. Okay, I can accept it's a big commitment for Asari and all, but Liara seriously need to study this concept called laughter. Kaidan, on the other hand, was cute, funny and supportive throughout the whole thing. I have to say I really liked how Kaidan's retelling of his past was never about him - it wasn't about how ooh he had it sooo bad and now he needed fixing or whatnot.. it was all about how he was concerned about you.

I suspect playing a Male Shepard would be the only way I'd get the paramour achievment in Mass Effect 2 as well, though I'm not entirely sure I could manage it. I made a try, once, for variety, but wishing no offense to the guy, I somehow just couldn't sync well with Marc Meer's vocal delivery.

I thought that if you started a new game in ME2 that it gave you a default LI depending on which gender you chose...I guess that must have just been about who lived or died on Virmire...I haven't played a new game...just imports. Still don't see why they couldn't have done it if the game registers the character as your old LI...but it would have been nice. I guess we'll just have to wait until ME3 for any kind of reward. And it better be a good one.

What, the heartfelt, longing gaze she gave the picture before the final mission wasn't that? It might not have been a long moment, but that gaze alone made me feel vindicated about not missing anything for not picking up one of the new love interests; as if it was BioWare's way of going "Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you lot.".

It was about that time that I felt truly resolute about not having missed anything in terms of content for sticking with Kaidan.

As for what it does with new ones.. not sure actually. I guess we'd have to find someone who fought their way to Horizon without an import and see who met them and in what manner.

As an amusing aside on character imports, I asked a friend of mine to take a look, and apparently the picture frame in Anderson's office show Kaidan even if you're on a female Shepard that keeps a picture of Liara around her cabin.

The picture is also there if you nuked Kaidan on Virmire...it's either a Bioware fluke or an inside joke.

it would be a good reason to go renegade
renegade love scene with jack was much better than paragon

I think male Shep's voice acting is awful. Jennifer Hale is a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better Shep. I tell my hubby that all the time. :P (I'm tickled every time I think about this because Jennifer Hale also voiced Bastila and I could not stand Bastila when I played KotOR. Now I fangirl over Jennifer Hale's VA for Shep. lol)

I also like Tali, quite a bit. I enjoyed having her in my team again for ME2. She feels little sister-ish to me as well. While I certainly love the romances, I also like for my PC to have friends in game. I absolutely loved Ash in ME1, and she and my Shep were very, very tight. (And I agree that we need a nifty term like "bromance" for the relationship between females.) It was very difficult for me to sacrifice her on Virmire because of this. Overall, I liked Miranda more than I thought I would, but I didn't get the same sense of warm friendship with her that I did with Tali and Ash. Of course, I also found Miranda a bit too indoctrinated by Cerberus, but I digress...

I enjoyed the Jacob bromance. Once I got to the "spilling drinks on the Citadel" talk, I actually would go back into the Armory periodically just so he and my Shep could do the little handshake thing and I could hear him say that. So, yeah, being able to befriend the romantic interests in whom I have no romantic interest is nice.

Nhani, I applaud your fortitude. I've been around this thread for some time now, but I can't usually keep up with it. I tend to drop in every so often and type up some of my thoughts.

Michelle7, I was the one who talked about writing for Kaidan's perspective. :) That's a new thing for me. My only other fanfic is the KotOR one, but that one is entirely from my PC's POV. I just felt really compelled to explore Kaidan's thoughts, and I enjoyed it so much that I am now inspired to try it again. I personally see Kaidan as a very deep thinker and as someone who is self-reflective, and those are both very sexy traits to me.

Oh, and I would like some sexy time in ME3 as well. I would also like the little hugs, cheek stroking, kisses, etc. I want it all! Do you hear that, devs? I want it all!!!

*cough*

*chem light wakes up and looks outside at the 8 inches of snow that apparently the south as no idea how to handle...hmm....go for morning run and risk someone power sliding into me? read what's going on in the forums...*

Morning Kai Kai thread.  Morning Nekkis Kai Kai.

Nope.  First thing I did when I started my non-import, really fast, insanity run who doesn't care if the whole ship dies was run upstairs.  No picture.

As for the earlier comments on Tali and the devs paying attentiong to the forums.

a) Oh yes please let my gal pal Tali get with Jayne.  (His name isn't reeger.  It isn't Adam Baldwain.  It's Jayne and he promises to take care of her.)  I think it's perfect.  There's already a set up for it, a prior relatiionship, and doesn't involve anit-biotics.

b.)  I think they do pay attention but I don't think they really let it affect their judgement too much.  And I think they have a fairly good sense of humor about it.  Like the Talimancers.  Who here honestly doesn't believe that the quarian talking about her human pursuer in Eternity bar on Illium wasn't refering to the ridiculous question and speculations going on about how to "get with Tali."   With the elevators too.  Everyone comlpained about them and the devs make a joke about it if you take both Garrus and Tali to the citadel.

And..breakfast.

Most of what I've got on Fanfic is Mass Effect...I've got four from the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Most of my other stuff was on other websites that have probably been lost by now. The fics that I've written from Kaidan's perspective always felt easier for me...I don't know... I think I identify with him somewhat...or maybe I'm just so focused on him it's easier to see into his character than to expand on my Femshep.
