I think male Shep's voice acting is awful. Jennifer Hale is a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better Shep. I tell my hubby that all the time. :P (I'm tickled every time I think about this because Jennifer Hale also voiced Bastila and I could not stand Bastila when I played KotOR. Now I fangirl over Jennifer Hale's VA for Shep. lol)

I also like Tali, quite a bit. I enjoyed having her in my team again for ME2. She feels little sister-ish to me as well. While I certainly love the romances, I also like for my PC to have friends in game. I absolutely loved Ash in ME1, and she and my Shep were very, very tight. (And I agree that we need a nifty term like "bromance" for the relationship between females.) It was very difficult for me to sacrifice her on Virmire because of this. Overall, I liked Miranda more than I thought I would, but I didn't get the same sense of warm friendship with her that I did with Tali and Ash. Of course, I also found Miranda a bit too indoctrinated by Cerberus, but I digress...

Nhani, I applaud your fortitude. I've been around this thread for some time now, but I can't usually keep up with it. I tend to drop in every so often and type up some of my thoughts.

I agree with a whole lot of this (my, what a surprise!) - it's fair to say that I had.. issues.. with Bastila and her vocal delivery and while I always liked Hale's delivery of Sarah Parker (Ground Control, if you're curious), I didn't quite have the same appreciation for Bastila.. Of course, then along comes Mass Effect and now its sequel, and I stand in continuous awe of Hale's vocal mastery.

And yes, I always liked Ash, and I while I thought I'd actually dislike Miranda, I really warmed up to her over time. Not like Best Friends Forever or anything, but she grew into someone I felt could be trusted and relied on, which I didn't expect. Though for some reason I half expected/wanted the ability to try and set her up with Jacob. Blame having endured Mass Effect Galaxy.

As for Jacob, you can actually continuously dodge the romance bullet and make friends with him? I'll have to try that if so - I ended up dreading having to talk to him halfway through the game because trying to speak with him without sparking a romance or flirting became this ominous maze I wasn't sure I'd be able to properly navigate.

As for Fortitude.. people tell me I can be stubborn. In this case, I spent several hours over several days just trying to catch up to the rocket-powered train that is this thread. Or maybe that's Kaidan-powered..

I too am in the south and this snow is driving me crazy. I actually slid the car into the driveway yesterday...thought it was going to do a 360...not fun. I need some sunshine.

Nope.  First thing I did when I started my non-import, really fast, insanity run who doesn't care if the whole ship dies was run upstairs.  No picture.

That's got me concerned. I wonder if they will open the door for Kaidan to be romanced by ME3 players if he comes back as a squad mate. Or if they've closed off his character as romanceable by anyone but ME players. I almost would rather him be a romance option for the ME3 players as it would maybe give him a bigger role and hopefully win him some more fans.

I hate the fact that all the new players see is his cameo on Horizon and they don't know what a great romance they could have with him in ME. Bummer.

Although I agree, JH VA is superior in every way, playing maleShep as total renegade is sooooo funny, I think it's because he sounds like an arse (IMO) so the lines seem perfect for him, I don't know if it's my perception of most men that is twisted, or that most men are twisted, but I can only play a guy who is a complete ******.

Oh, and I would like some sexy time in ME3 as well. I would also like the little hugs, cheek stroking, kisses, etc. I want it all! Do you hear that, devs? I want it all!!!

*cough*

This!  Yes, yes, yes!  Bring back the sexy time.

Yeah, I agree...I've always seen Anderson and Udina as bickering married couple. They crack me up.

Udina: "Anderson, do the words political ****storm mean anything to you?"
Anderson: "This is about me not taking out the garbage, isn't it? I told you I'd be busy in a meeting all evening."
Udina: "You could've taken it out when you got home!"
Anderson: "I didn't get home, I was held up in office all night, not that you'd notice!"

For some reason Shepaloo always makes me laugh, his facial animations combined with his voice is just highly amusing to me.

Although femshep sure has her moments too, that smile she sent Chakwas when giving her the booze is to die for.

Don't ever smile like that at Kaidan, you hear! ;)

Where. Is. It. From. More importantly: Is there a convenient video of this happening available? I can't recall ever seeing (well.. hearing) that particular line ever, and by the looks of the delivery, it sounds like in so I have suffered a great loss.

@Nhani: It's in the dialogue that triggers after you first speak with Liara, then go see Kaidan, where he asks if you're interested in "Dr. T'Soni" or not. It's on YouTube in the Kaidan/Liara/FemShep triangle video at about 30 seconds in.

Not that I have a big document which notes all my save numbers in my ME1 playthrough and exactly which Kaidan conversations they relate to. Noooo, not me... Posted Image

Aah, well that would explain why I haven't seen it; seeing the line, I expected it to be elsewhere actually. Thanks for showing -- I imagine that big document you don't have would be a tremendeous resource if you actually had it and it wasn't just a hypothetical construct only given form for the sake of discussion.

The line doth amuse me. The delivery is indeed grand.

My day job is as a database admin/programmer, so I do rather suffer from organisational OCD. Sadly outside of work it only applies to stuff I have an obsessive interest in. Mass Effect saves, cross-referenced and indexed. Remembering to put the laundry in and buy the cat food...not so good a track record there!

Ok this is getting ridiculous, I'm stood in the lift with Kaidan and Ash, he just did the big gun line and I started giggling like a schoolgirl.  Trying to explain to my bf what was so funny just made me look crazy.

What have you guys done to me!!!!!!!!!

My BF is not feeling too shabby today and thus is cranky as hell, I have to limit the amount of giggling today. *tiptoes around the house* Oh well, I'll let him watch the Olympics all eve, that should help. He gave me the 'You're not starting again with that Kaidan crap, are you? I love you but not now!' look :P

Going to have to rely on you guys for entertainment tonight!

Saw this item on tv a bit ago where they advertised some sort of projector that would allow you to play in your favourite movie by projecting the RL you into the movie or something. Dunno what it was but we should get a few of those, add some booze and then fire up ME1 for some Kaidan fueled madness ;)

Morning everyone~

I actually managed to dodge it everytime I spoke with him. Ended up being buddies. The first conversation was a bit weird, because I wanted a neutral response, but she ended up saying "You're not getting away from me so easily" as she twisted her hips awkwardly. I started freaking out, but thankfully things were normal between us after his loyalty mission.

I felt like I was dodging the bullet more with Thane actually.

Not that I don't like these guys, I just wanted to stick with Kaiden with my main Shep. My other Shep will be chasing after one of the other eligible bachelors. I know you guys said the feelings aren't as deep as the first game, but who knows, maybe it'll blossom into something else in the third game. One of those "About last night..."

But of course, my main story will always be with Kaiden.

Morning all, (its 2.45am here in Sydney & I'm an insomniac) thought I'd stop playing Me2 again & go back to one of my ME1 saves (all Kaidan conversations of course) just to see Kaidan again. Can I ask how you get the conversation about Sheps biotics with Kaidan - I've never heard that one, must not have ever picked the right dialogue option.

Actually thinking of it in terms other than those of um....questionable sanity...it would pretty cool to play as a biotic
with project natal.  Of course, with my very fragile barrier between reality and Mass Effect that might cause problems later.

large attacker:  "I'm going to beat you ****"
chem light:  *does mnemonic form for barrier*  Dang it it's not working!

*snigger*  The RL implications are hilarious!

Child in class misbehaving

*Bec waves hands in a mystical fashion at child to prompt Stasis*

*Little Jimmy whispers* What is miss doing?

*Another child* I don't know, but yesterday she seemed to be kissing thin air and muttering Kai, Kai.

108 pages! Well done, KAAS members!

What would you like to see as a possible interaction with Kaidan in an ideal version of ME3? Besides all of the delightful obvious things, I'd love it if my Shep got the chance to wake him up with "JOKER'S WAITING FOR YOU ON THE BRIDGE" after spending the night together in her quarters, just to tease him. :D

First off I want him back on the crew, maybe an observer for the Alliance to check Shep is back to her senses.  Then I want an angsty fight/make-up scene, then I want the whol, I thought I'd lost you I won't lose you again smexy scene, then kissing whenever it takes my fancy even mid-mission should the urge take me and a suitably epic ending where they get their happily ever after.  That's fair isn't it?

Haha, other than having him in my party from the beginning of the game, like ME1?  I'd totally want him to have a side quest of his own, and a major part in the main quest.

Oh, and shirtless, angry-hot makeup sex.  :o

I love coming back here and seeing more pages!!!:)

This is really my first time seriously hanging out on a game forum, I'd visited some before but never stayed around for too long and never really took an active part in the discussions until now...

Ah the lure of Kaidan is just that strong...

And honestly, I'd never bothered staying around on previous forums 'round the net simply due to the fact that at least on the surface, there seemed to be so much negativity, sniping and a whole lot of disrespect going on. Dissenting opinions is good and can end up getting some really good talks going on, but it's the way that posters disagree with each other that IMO, really tells the buttheads from the decent folk.

Disagreeing and putting forth a different viewpoint in a rational, respectful and thought out manner = good

Disagreeing, acting like a jerk, name calling, trolling = acting like an ass

I take refuge in this thread for obviously copious amounts of Kaidan yumminess, but also for the kind and comfortable atmosphere...thanks ladies/gents :D
