Haha, geek romance is the best romance!  <3

My own guy and I are just going to order in and watch the Hurt Locker tonight, we've been meaning to see it for a while.  Not terribly romantic, but since I doubt he'd sit through a BBC production of some Jane Austen classic with me, this is the next best thing.

My husband and I dont' really celebrate Valentines. So essentially today we're sitting around playing videogames like any other Sunday. We're both geeky.

A few people mentioned KOTOR, I played it years ago and only remember bits and pieces of it...and admit that for some weird reason, I never actually finished it...(I think it was right around the time I met my daughter's father)....anyways hanging around here has made me think of it again so I ordered a copy of my own a few days ago (the one I played before belonged to a friend) from amazon....it should be here sometime in the coming week.

I'm sooooooooooo looking forward to playing it again, in between classes and of course ME1 and ME2...(and DA:O...gots to love variety).

I actually don't remember Carth at all...which I'm kinda ashamed to admit...of course it's been 5-6 years since I played...looking forward to re-discovering KOTOR and all it's characters.

But of course nothing will EVER take the place of Kaidan

Ya' know that actually sounds really lovely...I'm single atm and one day when I find "that" guy, I'd love to be with a fellow gamer...Sunday game days and ordering take-out sounds better than serenades and walks in the park under the moonlight to me, it really does...

Of course it's not going to be easy sharing my Xbox...might have to buy another one (or keep my fingers crossed for a PC or PS3 player)...

If at any time they reduce Kaidan's role in ME3 to appease the masses or give him some out of character story to make him more interesting, THAT's when I'll come here and throw a nerdrage for sure.

They can create all the romances in the verse for their fans, have Shepard sleep with everything that has legs, paws or claws...but stay true to your original characters and keep Kaidan the way he is, with perhaps just some natural growth in his character after all these years. Yeah I don't think it's really BioWare's style to cave in to the common denominator no matter what some of the critics say about ME2, I'm still confident that it was all part of their plan from the beginning and ME2 was also supposed to be the black sheep of the trilogy. I look forwards to the conclusion in ME3 and a return to the epic feel good with the old romances a prevalent part of it.

However if they really do go back on what they've said thus far, it's going to seriously disapoint and I would no longer have the faith (some would call it blind..) that I have for them. Some of the dev comments I've read lately have gotten me worried a bit, like the one defending the ME2 love scenes from the critiscism that they are as shallow as a puddle.... But still, I cross my fingers!!!

@sberna, when I found my sig other we both had an x-box so now we have one in the front room and one in the back! We chat through the doorway or if we're feeling super geeky on the headset, my family think we're nuts!

Ooh, I'm envious. I know the characters so well, but I remember how great it was the first time I played the game. Carth just made me weak int he knees, and the flirty banter he has with your character... You're gonna love it.

My boyfriend and I have our PCs networked next to each other. If we don't go out to the movies (and it's supposedly my choice today), then we'll sit in quiet with our headsets as I play Mass Effect 2, and he plays Bioshock 2. Course, we also have two 360s, a PS3, a couple of PS2s, a Wii, a Gamecube, and an original Xbox still. It was amusing merging our two gaming households when I moved in.

Well I'm now taking the "all negative attention to Kaidan is positive" approach and I get less annoyed with all the hate. Kaidan is much better written then people think if he can trigger such strong hate

Love and hate are strong emotions that are very close to each other. The devs are prob happy that everyone doesn't love all the characters if people were ambivalent towards him then we'd need to worry!
