Anybody else have their ups and downs at times? One day I can be all giggly like a little schoolgirl and read fanfic and whatnot, loving Mass Effect and Kaidan.

But there are days, I just feel blue and hate there isn't more of him in ME2 to get me through the waiting for ME3. I really need some closure.

Hence why I created that cuddling pic with Kaidan, at least it's ...something indeed. Too bad it's as fake as fake can be. *shakes fist at Bioware*

Actuallly, Kaidan is not the logical choice. If you chose to have Kaidan set the nuke and Ashley go with the Salarians, Kaidan is guarding a higher priority objective. Additionally, Ashley is only a NCO and Kaidan is a Staff Lt.  Military protocol would dictate saving the highest military objective followed by the highest ranking member. So there is only a 50/50 chance that saving Kaidan would be the "wrong" choice because you sent him to the AA tower.

I am a big Ashley fan, I love strong female characters in fiction, and it irked me a whole lot that we had to choose at Virmire, but it is very easy from a role playing standpoint to justify choosing Kaidan over Ashley, even if you're not looking forward to sweet pre-Ilos loving. 

Even if he's not protecting the nuke (and it does make the most sense to have him there, while Ashley is with Kirrahe) Kaidan is a stable L2 biotic, a highly trained medic and tech, and is the higher ranking officer.  And from a metagaming standpoint, Kaidan is the only character on the team with Medicine, which is actually very useful.  Ashley doesn't have a unique ability like that.

I do but I don't know if I can bear to romance the ME2 boys, they just make me miss Kaidan when I try...

Now I might be reading too much into this but I was looking on the ME website and I noticed that under the characters section it lists, Joker, TIM, Anderson and Ash/Kai/Liara now there's no mention of Wrex in there and other significant peeps or even insignificant peeps a la Kelly, so I was wondering if they're trying to give us a heads up as to who will feature strongly in ME3.

Now it could all be wishful thinking of course but add that to the interview where they didn't want us to be able to kill the ME1 crew, the fact they've told us that faithfulness will be rewarded and I'm just a little more confident Ash/Kai/Liara will be important next time round.

I really hope you are right.  I would love for them to come out with a press release saying as much, waiting until the release of ME3 will make me crazy or at lease crazier.

Are you kidding?  I generally ignore the trolls, but this is just plain silly.  In the real world, Kaidan would be the priority.  He's guarding the friggin' nuke that you need to use to blow up the facility.  Or, if he's not, he's the higher ranking officer.  Everyone can RP as they like, and I certainly don't hold it against those who chose to save Ashley, but, to me, there's no question that Kaidan's the one who should be saved.

MY KAIDAN YOUTUBE VIDEO IS FINALLY DONE !

I have read pretty much all this thread, so I tried to put in all the scenes you guys loved. I had to cut out a lot as well though, I had over an hour worth of Kaidan video's, but only 8 minutes of music.

Make sure you set the video to: "720p" (you can do that in the actual video interface)
and set it to HD (the button with the two arrows)
If you can't play HD, you need: Flash player 10.  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ wich is free.

I noticed that Youtube has made it darker for some reason, I guess that's due to quality loss in the upload.
I will upload it again, but in a different format to counteract this later this week

Same here. But we won't know till the game is released. Just look a the speculation concerning ME1 LI's having cameos in ME2. Casey Hudson had confirmed they wouldn't be squadmates and fueled some rage by doing so.
And yet there was a war between those stating it would be a simple cameo and those refusing to believe Bioware would do such a thing. Even I never believed Kaidan's role would be THIS small.
They kept us in the dark until the street date was broken and people playing confirmed it was just a cameo.

We'll be living in fear for a long time to come, never knowing for sure if he'll stay a cameo or is returned to full squad status. Heck he could be given his own ship in ME3, indirectly fighting at your side and thus play a major role....which would suck. I really want to see him back on the Normandy and have him in my squad, hearing his voice outside of the player initiated dialogues when he comments on stuff while out on a mission.

Bioware loves teasing us, just so we come back here and visit their site for every little tidbit of information. Just look at how long it took for them to confirm the LI's for girls in Dragon Age. Grrr...
