Are you kidding?  I generally ignore the trolls, but this is just plain silly.  In the real world, Kaidan would be the priority.  He's guarding the friggin' nuke that you need to use to blow up the facility.  Or, if he's not, he's the higher ranking officer.  Everyone can RP as they like, and I certainly don't hold it against those who chose to save Ashley, but, to me, there's no question that Kaidan's the one who should be saved.

Yep, he's more valuable to operation at hand (detonating the nuke).  And yes, he's an officer, and has cost the Alliance far more to train.

But you're also forgetting - He's a biotic, and a really powerful one.  He's pretty rare as far as humans go.

Ashley, while an experienced soldier, just isn't as valuable to the Alliance.  To Shepard maybe, especially if your Shepard's priorities put a piece of ass above duty, but not to the Alliance.

But then, she's also a speciesist racist see-you-next-Tuesday, so let her burn.

I have read pretty much all this thread, so I tried to put in all the scenes you guys loved. I had to cut out a lot as well though, I had over an hour worth of Kaidan video's, but only 8 minutes of music.

Make sure you set the video to: "720p" (you can do that in the actual video interface)
and set it to HD (the button with the two arrows)
If you can't play HD, you need: Flash player 10.  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ wich is free.

I noticed that Youtube has made it darker for some reason, I guess that's due to quality loss in the upload.
I will upload it again, but in a different format to counteract this later this week

Pick the right option on your dialogue wheel a few times, then get a room, stand their fully clothed, start crying,...and hurry before everything goes black and you'll end up with...nothing and perhaps a polaroid of a dramatic close up of your empty bed.
Because that's how it's supposed to be according to Bioware

I would have totally pursued the Jacob romance to that point if there was an option to point and laugh at him after that line.

Actuallly, Kaidan is not the logical choice. If you chose to have Kaidan set the nuke and Ashley go with the Salarians, Kaidan is guarding a higher priority objective. Additionally, Ashley is only a NCO and Kaidan is a Staff Lt.  Military protocol would dictate saving the highest military objective followed by the highest ranking member. So there is only a 50/50 chance that saving Kaidan would be the "wrong" choice because you sent him to the AA tower.

I got all excited when I saw him running through the ship. I was like, OMG, it is Kaidan, YAY! I really had a bad feeling about making him take the crew to the escape shuttles, but I knew it was the right thing to do. So I go save Joker and get spaced.

I had the same reaction to the opening of the game.  I saw him and screamed "KAIDEN!!" much to the amusement of my husband and son who both started laughing hysterically at me as I jumped up and down in front of the tv.

I spent the whole game until Horizen looking anxiously (and hopefully) for Kaiden only to be devastated by his response to my poor Shep.  I stayed hopeful however because I kept remembering that there had been many many interviews where the Casey Hudson and others had said things like, "Your ME1 LI won't have a large role in the game but you can email."'  I've since relooked at some of those statemtns and they do seem to imply that the original romance could be carried on via email.  

This in fact is partly what p***ed me off so much the first time through because we just got one email and had no chance to reply nor were there any other emails.  BLEAH!

So I'm really looking forward to ME3 and hoping that this time we get to finish things off with Kaiden as a squad member and LI.

Now it could all be wishful thinking of course but add that to the interview where they didn't want us to be able to kill the ME1 crew, the fact they've told us that faithfulness will be rewarded and I'm just a little more confident Ash/Kai/Liara will be important next time round.

That Wrex thing you said makes me think about what I was thinking about earlier this morning...I have a feeling that we won't be seeing characters like Helena Blake, Fist, Shiala, etc in ME3. I bet they do go with the more major characters for ME3. Who knows you could be on to something. Maybe Bioware learned it's lesson about keeping the players in the dark too long about the ME LI's not being recruitable in ME3 and this time they are going to let people get used to certain ideas early on so that there won't be such an explosion when it comes close to game release time.

I remember when I first saw his romance scene I wondered where the Barry White, "Let's get it on" song was. And I only needed to play my friend that song to explain to him the utter sleaziness of that scene.

Thinking about this line again, if he's responding to the "five minutes/still have plenty of stress to work out" option, I completely understand why he said it. Kaidan knows that he's just too good of a lover to finish the job so quickly.

Mobar your vid was fantastic. I thought that the first part where the action was taking place was wonderful. I got to watching it and when you zoomed in on the rescue Kaidan part I was shouting "Way to go!" but the ending...Mobar it was wonderful...great way to advertise for Kaidan support and I was just expecting a regular vid. Great job.
