Fortunately, I have no desire to get with any of the male LI in ME2. I can get Paramour playing a male Shep, so no need to be unfaithful to Kaidan .

Honestly I don't think Bioware will go much into depth concerning the Doc anyway...unless Ash also mentioned someone.  It'll probably pick up with us having to pursue him again with a brief mention that Shep and Kaidan had a relationship in the past...because they will have to write it in such a way that will help new players understand that he is a LI.

I'm sure we'll probably get some extra dialog concerning ME(for importing) but since it's the final in the trilogy I don't think they'll waste a lot of time dwelling on the past. I would think that the ME2 LI's would be more trouble than  the doc anyway...even if you don't cheat my guess is that there will be tension. Some may not even want Kaidan/Ash and Liara there since they didn't help with the collectors.

Hey yeah, I wonder how that tension will play out, and how far you have to go. I sorta went for Thane but then let him down and told him I could never replace his wife, but there was still something there. In any case I hope there's a lot more interaction to make up for no Kaidan this time around and for this reason I hope there's NO new squadmates, though I doubt they'll do that, they seem to like introducing new people. OR maybe you'll get a whole new team with the exception of Joker and Alenko returning, I could deal with that!

Yes. Please. More interaction. That would be superswell. I do wonder if they are going to add another awkward line ala GET TO THE BRDGEOMGZ. I have to admit I would die from giggles if Kaidan had another postcoital blurtout.

On the other hand, Kaidan's done nothing but have drinks with a doctor, so he may feel that Shepard should not have done the same. But I really don't think he could blame Shepard for looking elsewhere when he acted the way he did.

Realistically, they weren't together long, but they went through a lot in that time.

Move on I could live with.  Cheating? Meh.  So yes, let's go with 'move on'

 I think he's terrified that she's going to leave him like Rahna did. He probably felt the same way when Shep died as he did when Rahna refused to talk to him...alone and abandoned. People put up walls to prevent going through the same pain again. His 'maybe' is just a wall that Shep's going to have to break down. So we get to chase him again in ME3. 

It's all interpertration really, but what I got from it was not this.

To me it sounded like he had a long mourning period, almost 2 years and then just as he was about to really move on and date, and getting interested in someone else, you show up and shake things up. He's hurt because it rips his mourning you wide open, and it brings about guilt because he loves you but had to put that behind and start seeing someone else. I think he tells Shepard about the Dr. to be honest for sure and set her up for more details later on if she comes back for him, and the not serious to me means that whatever would have happened with the new girl is now over, and the maybe is basically saying :" We have to talk, if you want to". 

I think it depends which scenario is more compelling to you and whether BioWare gives us any more detail. I'm thinking they'll just let us decide on our own.

My interpertration probably differs because my own interaction with boyfriends and ex's have been similar, they never say exactly what they mean they just give you hints and always leave a back door open in case things backfire.The guys I've know as friend too are always scared girls are going to freak the heck out (I'm not telling her that, she'll go NUTS!), so they themselve throw a fit first or use evasive maneuveurs in the form of vague descriptions.

I think a bit of both tbh, Kaidan has spent two yrs mourning and although will never really be over Shep, he's accepted that he might care for someone but no one will ever mean to him what Shep did. I don't think the Dr was really all that interesting to him, after all he makes it sound as though his friends pushed him into it so literally a couple of dates with drinks because he feels he should rather than any actual desire to do so.

And the 'maybe' is a I really, really want to but my head is all mashed up, I'm hurt, afraid and not sure if you've turned into psycho Cerb-a-b*tch

Warms the heart to see so much Kaidan love in one place.  Just here to add my support and keep the love alive!

I am 100% loyal to Kaidan.  My 2 cents on the situation is, even if they are "technically" broken up, or he's moved on, or whatever, my Shep isn't just going to turn to someone else because she can.  My Shep fell in love with Kaidan in ME1 and she can't just turn those feelings off because he doesn't reciprocate (although it seems clear from the follow up email he is definitely still in love with her, just understandably hurt/angry/confused.)  Regardless, for her it hardly seems the appropriate time to try and move on romantically with someone else, being on a suicide mission and all.  It's all business in ME2, kicking ass and getting the job done so she can get through alive and hopefully sort things out with Kaian in the end.

On a separate note, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who found femshep's dialogue with Jacob, errr, jarring.  I was like, woah, where did that voice come from?!  My Shep wouldn't sound like that even if she was interested, thank you.

In short, I loves me some Kaidan.  It's gonna be a long wait until ME3.  Keep the love alive!

I know. I never spoke to Kaidan like that! I'd much rather that I have spoken to him like that than to Jacob if that voice had to be used. However, I preferred the more natural voice she used with Kaidan. It didn't seem forced like that line.

Struck me as a bit over the top too, hell I wanted to get to know the guy as I would any other crew member.  The voice made it sound like I was about to kitty growl and leap on him!

Leaving out the dialogue beforehand, I will acknowledge that Jacob had awesome abs...for a guy with no waist.

I need to make a sig bar asking for shirtless Kaidan in ME3...that's a good cause, right?
