I went the first play through with my paragon chick (both games). And Kaidan wasn't as annoying as the male romance-targets mostly are. So I give him points on that, and I kept my girl clean of other chaps for him as well. So I expect some credit for that in the 3rd sequel...

Days before ME2 was released, I played ME1 for the first time.  My first character, a paragon named Danaih, fell for the handsome and sweet Kaidan Alenko.  I loved the little slip-ups where he admitted to thinking she was beautiful, or where he called her the more informal Shepard.  Hesitant to break any rules but wanting to, for her.  I really enjoyed the build-up in their relationship.  He felt, to me atleast, like a more mature and experienced Alistair (whom I was constantly blushing and squeeing over in Dragon Age). 

As soon as I was done with ME1, I purchased and started up ME2.  Tempted as I was by some of the new love interests, I couldn't do that to Kaidan, even though he had seemingly turned his back on poor Danaih.  She didn't change, Kaidan!!!  She's the same woman!  Minus the implants...

I was happy to finally get his email apologizing.  I can understand where he was coming from, tho it hurt to bear the brunt of his emotional rollercoaster.  I did want to get that woman doctor reassigned to some middle-of-nowhere clinic tho.  Danaih's a spectre again, I don't see why she can't manage that!

I kept that one email marked as unread so I could easily reread it anytime I felt the draw of Garrus (mmm alien Batman) or Thane (him and his Siha *wistful sigh*).  So yes, Danaih remained faithful to her Kaidan in the hopes of a reconciliation/reunion in ME3.  I have since made ME1 playthroughs where my fem!Sheps remained single (so difficult!) for future romances with Garrus and Thane though.  There will be no cheating on Kaidan for me in any playthrough.

P.S.  I am also sacrificing Ashley in every single playthrough (men included) as I can't bear my poor Kaidan dying.

Everything about that first "shakedown run" on the Normandy rushes right back. He's briefed on the mission and afterwards, he feels overwhelmingly relieved.

He can't get much further away from Shepard than Horizon.

And then just as he hears she's back, it get's 10 times worse because 'I'm Comander Shepard and this is my favourite store on the citadel.' 

LOL forever! In EVERY store on the Citadel, too! Poor guy, just can't catch a break...

I could never support anything that supported Ashley, I just can't bring myself to do it.  I hate her with a passion.  I don't begrudge other people wanting her back in ME3, but she will never be in mine.    I do appreciate the ability to choose.

I haven't joined any groups for specific love interests because I love Kaidan, Garrus and Thane.    They each have their own fem!Sheps so they're not fighting each other for her.  I wouldn't want to cheat on any of them.  I am also in the process of making males that would end up with Liara, Tali and Miranda.  Tho being a woman IRL I don't feel about them the way I do my Mass Effect men.

I figured if I was going to post my support for any love interest, it would have to be for my 'first', Kaidan.  I can't believe how large some of the other threads are compared to his.  I think their page counts are seriously inflated with multi-quotes, and their post counts with one-liners.  As long as the devs recognize us as well, it's all good in the end.    I want my happy-with-Kaidan ending.
