I'm actually thinking that it might be Shep that has to do the grovelling, rather than Kaidan. she's going to have to some pretty fancy talking in my opinion. I would like to see Kaidan take the initiative in terms of making up - its always up to Shep, lets face it the night before Ilos wouldn't have happened if she hadn't forced the issue. Kaidan would have been too shy to instigate it, but hopefully things wil be a bit different now.

And once she has grovelled enough, Kaidan should take over the conversation by just smooching her to say "I've missed you, I'm sorry and I love you" with one spectacular kiss.
Or the other way around, depending on who does the grovelling...see it works in all angles.

I hope her hormones settle down a little in ME3 so she can think clearly again and word her thoughts a little better. Because, I swear, if the reunion scene comes up with Kaidan and she leans back against a table to do that  'Hubbah, hubbah' thing of hers, I'll step into my tv screen to personally toss her into the aquarium to cool down.

Which could be fun actually :P

Haha! I keep expecting her to say 'How you doin'?' every time she speaks to Jacob

No kidding

you have opened my eyes... I now know what the problem is with ME2...

Bioware fired all female writers!

Completely off topic, well not really because it has to do with Kaidan, I just realized that Kaidan and Ashely are the only squad members that did not have there own side quest! Tali, Garris and Wrex each had there own in ME1. Maybe I am thinking to much but could that mean that there will be something special for them in ME3?....maybe....I don't know I am just thinking out loud here....

Not sure really... I'd settle for a apology, and no more drama after that. There's enough at stake already to waste time to go around and play the angry game. Though some kind of tension before the make up, you know a time where everything just hangs in the air, would be nice.

This is where I stand too...I do expect there to be some momentary tension....a little awkwardness, etc...As nice as it would be for Kaidan to come running back into my Femshep's arms asap and be all sweetness and light, I wouldn't find it all believable and it would ruin the immersion for me.

That being said, I don't want most of the game spent being angry with each other and only softening and confessing the love at the end.

I'd like to see some tension at first, I want to see both Femshep and Kaidan have it out about their feeelings regarding cerberus/the horizon "incident", etc.....I want him to understand her pov better and her to understand his, then I'd like to see a heartfelt apology...then okay I love you, let's go save the universe together...again...:D

Also some sexytime thrown in the mix would be welcome too

I like your scenario, it would be kind of a kick in the stomach to ME1 LI fans if we had to wait till the end of ME3 to "make up" with your love interest.  Plus, early sexytime, good thing!  Image IPB

Might be surprised at that actually. I remember some discussion on the DA forums a while ago about the smexy scenes and how people believed they needed a woman's 'touch', Bioware responded that (I believe it was Zevrans) scene was animated by a woman. Something along those lines, don't recall it correctly.

Think it was Zevran's cuz I remember my jaw dropping to the floor and crashing through it actually

They did have more dialogue though, and they had their own mission: Eden Prime.

Also, to totally negate my previous statement, they had the quest for bootay/shirtlessness. =]

I have an ME2 question - its sort of Kaidan related in a roundabout way :

Why did the Alliance (or Admiral Hackett) wait 2 years to retrieve the missing dog tags. They had to have known where the Normany was - they had to pick up the escape pods & also Shep sent a distress beacon, as well as the fact that Joker survived & could have told them exact co-ordinates. Did Hackett know Cerberus was rebuilding Shepard, is he somehow in the loop with Cerberus? Given that the email from Hackett was one of the first ones Shep received & before confirmation that Shep was alive it seems odd that Hackett would have given her the job of retrieving dog tags & placing a monument unless he had inside knowledge of the fact. As the surviving ranking officer, why wasn't Kaidan given this mission? - or was it offered and he knocked it back (I can't see Kaidan doing this - he would have followed orders no matter how hard it would have been for him). I also think Chakwas and/or Joker could be Anderson/Hackett spies - it still seems odd to me that the doctor would leave the alliance and that the Alliance would ground their best pilot.

Okay, probably more than one question, but this has really been bugging me.
This one bothered me too.  Also, I wondered why there doesn't seem to be any sign that the Alliance looked for Shepard's remains; Liara found them and gave them to Cerberus.  Seems like there's some deeper political machinations going on here.  Also, another interesting tidbit -- in my current game, my Shep's background is Spacer and she just received an email from her mother wanting to know why she (mom) had to hear about Shep's revival 3rd hand.  It was interesting because the email didn't really convey a lot of indignation -- just, get in touch with me and stay safe.  ????
I believe that Hacketts e-mail starts by saying they’ve finally located the exact location of the crash, think of it like a ship wreck, you may know the general location but it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be able to find it, a planet is fairly vast after all. Now factor in that said planet is in the Terminus system where Alliance ships don’t frequent often, or if they do they risk attack, that and they had the more imminent rescue mission to deal with so probably just the one ship that went in, got the survivors and left. Now as for Shep’s body there was prob a short search at the time but given Joker’s story and the rescue mission to deal with they gave up, figuring her lost forever, needle in a haystack springs to mind. It may have been some time after that before they could risk sending in another ship by vthen the exact location would be lost.

Now if they’ve only just found the wreck you would ask the highest ranking officer on the ship, which would be Shep. Hackett’s e-mail is DLC so the timing depends on when you download it.
True (re DLC).  Since I downloaded the DLC starting off it appears almost at the beginning of the game for me.
Now as for Shep’s mum, she’s an Alliance officer I think she even mentions in the e-mail that she assumes you’ve been on some secret mission, if anyone understands how it works she would, so no I don’t think she’d be mad, all she was saying was it would’ve been nice for Shep to sneak her some communication to let her know she wasn’t dead.

Good points BECC.  I like the Joker/Chakwas conspiracy theory!  I guess what keeps me questioning is that it seems like there are a number of people with some information about Shep but yet the most important folks in her life (LI and family) are relatively clueless even though they appear to be part of  a community that does know or at least suspect the truth. I may be using a little too much RL logic for this -- I used to hold a gov't security clearance (for very mundane reasons I hasten to add) and always noticed was how much info got passed along in a variety of ways "confidentially" within the community (but not outside it) so I guess I find it hard to believe that someone wouldn't have "confidentially" let her Mother and LI know that she was alive or even possibly that Cerberus had her.

What I keep thinking though is that all Joker could say is that he saw her be spaced.  True this could mean that she's a floating popsicle out in the great beyond which would be an impossible search, but still I wonder at Liara finding sufficient evidence/clues to locate Shep while the Alliance with all its manpower and available technology couldn't or didn't?

I do hope Shep and Kaidan get a chance to talk and it isn't just all ooo baby apology but some feelings/sparks before the makeup sex begins!Image IPB

@Star, you'd think that fam members and LI would be told but I recon they're actually the most likely to be kept in the dark, people would notice if they weren't grieving and although Kaidan is Alliance he's nowhere near the clearance level Shep is or Anderson and I imagine it would be mega, top, top secret! Even if they have made him special forces, it doesn't mean he'd be able to get all classified files.

also at that point in time - no-one apart from the Normandy crew (via the ship grapevine) would have known that their was anything other than a professional relationship between Shepard & Kaidan.
