As for the whole ME2 relationships are "Sup, let's get freaky" thing I didn't feel it was like that at all with Tali. Having played ME1 helped with this because I felt I had a connection with her (Garrus as well) because she was with me when I took down Saren. But as a male Shepard in ME2 during her loyalty mission she says stuff in her logs along the lines of "I wish Shepard were here" so it made me feel as if she really cared for my guy. In the end the sex scenes may basically be "Let's get freaky" I felt that, at least with Tali, there were conversations and pieces of dialogue that made it feel more substantial.
Anyway back on track with Kaidan. I support a bromance option with Kaidan in ME3.
At the risk of going off topic, I wanted to clarify my comment earlier about the ME2 romances...I enjoyed Tali a lot as a BFF sort of character in my femshep playthrough, so now I'm doing a maleshep game romancing Tali, and although I haven't quite finished her romance yet, I get the impression she's the most fleshed out romance in ME2. I can't really comment on the other maleshep romances too much, but the femshep ME2 romance options left me unimpressed - too much of a fling/friends with benefits scenario to seem really meaningful to me.
Incidentally, I really wish we got to choose what we "did" in ME1 when starting a new character in ME2, just the picking your answer to the choices you get to review when importing an ME1 game would have been great.
And about chastizing Kaidan after the beacon on Eden Prime - well, I studied archaeology, so I totally got where he was coming from, ancient artefacts are pretty damn fascinating, so my Shep was happy to tell him it wasn't his fault (something for which she was amply rewarded).
