I completely agree, in fact watching the clip with Ash really takes the edge off it but I can't help the evil part of me that was secretly glad she became smoothie

 I wonder if we keep Miranda alive if she'll go after him...she has been described by the devs as a Femme Fatale. She's Cerberus...he's Alliance...you know where those kind of tensions(and bickerings can lead). Gotta punch someone.

That would be awesome!  I've been dying for a reason to punch Barbie and if she make a move on my man, I may have to shoot her in the leg or something!

I didn't mind the drinks with the doctor--as others have said I felt it was a casual thing that didn't end up meaning anything to Kaidan. What DID make me jealous, however, was the interaction between Kaidan and Lilith.

I realize that the dialogue between Kaidan and Lilith is the same as it is between Ashley and Lilith, so there are no direct romantic implications...but I found it more threatening than the doctor thing. Kaidan and Lilith were working together, seemed to get along, and she was comforting him about the colonists not liking the Alliance. It reminded me of the beginning of Shepard and Kaidan's relationship. Although it hadn't gone anywhere yet, I felt that Lilith was someone that--had she and Kaidan had more time--could have been the one to help Kaidan get over Shepard.

Yeah, I was bothered by the Lilith scene too.  It made me infuriated, and after all, kaidan told Shepard about the doctor thing.  I know there was nothing between Lilith and Kaidan for him to tell, but I agree something could have developed.  I smirked a little when she got liquified.  Does that make me a bad person?

And if people don't stop talking about shirtless Kaidan, I might explode.  The Jacob scene(which I watched on youtube) was awful when watching it, but if it was Kaidan and not Jacob, and a little more affection was shown... I'd probably die from happiness... or sexiness overload.

If we look at the Lilith scene piece by piece...

At first Kaidan and Lilith are walking and talking and he does his little laugh scoff thing with a smile. He makes a joke to her about people blaming everyone on him. Then she comforts him about the other colonists not liking alliance and that "it's nothing personal" against him. So little scoff here, little joke there, and then a comfort scene which is entirely too reminiscent of Shepard telling him it isn't his fault about triggering the beacon.

Then Lilith is calling him Commander and it is a little bit of a role reversal but still enough to bring me back to the good old days with Shepard and Kaidan.

Then Kaidan starts shooting and telling everyone to run (ahem ahem "Get everyone to the safe house" = Normandy going down) and then Lilith pretty much doesn't move from his side until Kaidan is frozen--which happens when he is helping her up. /sigh

I mean...it's what any alliance person in his position would do--as is evidenced by Ashley--but the parallels to the Kaidan/Shepard arc are just way too present for me not to speculate. I still think Kaidan is at the beginning of it--not really feeling anything for Lilith yet, but I think she wants him. And I think it's a good thing Shepard decides to show up at that point...or that Lilith dies, but trying not to be too evil here.

Oh, and in the email...just which of the colonists on Horizon was "close enough" to him to make it on that list. Mmhmmm.

And yes, I'm full of crap, but if I only get three Kaidan scenes, a picture, and an email, then I only have so much to over analyze and things start getting contrived.

My Fem Shepard's are also faithful to Kaidan. I just really like the character. I also understand his being upset that she's working with cerberus. After all they were involved in the thresher maw attack my Shepard survived and were running experiments on Corporal Toombs. They also were involved in the death of Admiral Kahoku's men. It's why I also have Garrus and Tali at my back and don't trust the illusive man as far as I can throw him. If they had a romance with Kaidan in ME1 they will carry it though to ME3.

Of course I have one who watched him die with a feeling of grief because he had to be left behind, who didn't romance anyone, and one who romanced Laira and I'll think about what to do with her.

Yeah, I totally hadn't even thought about the "on Horizon" part of the email.  Ugh, I hate her so badly right now.  It just seemed a little too close, even if it was the same with Ashley, the point is Ashley's not alive when it's Kaidan and it could be taken completely differently.  But I'm just going to tell myself that stupid colonist never would have meant as much to Kaidan as Shepard, and never will, since she's dead.  And Shepard was loyal.  Hah!

Ok the rational side of me says that there were likely many other Alliance soldiers at Horizon with him. And being as he is a Staff Commander now, almost all (if not all) of the soldiers would be under his command. That would merit the losing the people on Horizon. Plus, Kaidan would have felt terrible that all those Colonists were lost under his protection - not just a specific person.

Does it make me an egotist that I didn't worry about Lilith once I showed up? I admit I did get a "What's going on here?" feeling when the first part of the Lilith/Kaiden scene showed up. But once I met the angry male colonist who was looking for her, I was sure with my powers of persuasion (after all, I got the asari to marry the Krogan 'poet'!) that I could make sure she hooked up with said colonist and stayed far away from Kaiden :P

So I was kind of sorry she got turned into a milk shake instead of having to watch me get Kaiden back while she settled for Joe Random Colonist ;)

Alright. I'm happy with that. I agree he would have felt terrible about the colonists, but I can't see him describing them as people that are that close to him. But sticking with the idea of other soldiers being there works for me. This was the most annoying part of my conclusions, since it would mean he did consciously feel something. So, glad to have that thought out of my head. Thanks!

So you guys are saying that he could cheat on Shepard??? I think I would honestly fall over dead, right there from a heart attack. But it would be a great fight.

I wouldn't read too much into that part of the e-mail anyway, he mentioned Eden Prime and only Jenkins and Nihlus died there and Jenkins was a raw recuit so how close could he have been to him?  Especially as the doc described him as keeping to himself.

It's all moot anyway, we all agree that Shep blew every other female out of the water as soon as Kaidan saw her again.  I suspect that as soon as he heard she was back it would have been the kiss of death for any budding romance.  It was never any competition at all *sigh* I love Kaidan so much.

I was mainly thinking of Jenkins. I think Chakwas makes some reference to Kaidan and Jenkins when you get her drunk, so the two had some bonding at least.

Oh, definitely not! I just think Lilith wanted him (can't blame her) and a very slow progression of a relationship may have been starting to form if Shepard had stayed dead.

Well of course she wanted him.  But it would be interesting to get into a "we both cheated" fight only to enjoy making up later.  *sigh*  Good thing we agree Kaiden couldn't possibly do that.  I hope.

Well keep in mind that Kaiden had intel that Shepard was alive before he even got to Horizon. I'm sure that uncertainty alone would have put any thought of Lilith as a romantic interest out of his mind.
