Celyanae I agree with Jhosephine, I think the doc was his attempt to try moving on and failing. In a round about way I think they were trying to show that he was still hung up on Shep. It was kind of a shock that was in there though considering that he seemed so hard to 'woo' in ME...kinda came across as the kind of guy that didn't date a lot in the first place...and he had friends...I got the impression from Chakwas he was a loner. It might also be possible that whoever was responsible with designing the email wasn't as familiar with his character as whoever wrote him for ME...someone said they even had a different head writer this time around.
On an off note: Glad to see I'm not the only one in the over forty crowd that loves Kaidan.
heh...no you're not the only over-40 in this group..... Actually there are a lot of us playing games (marketing stats indicate that around 45% of gamers are women and the largest percentage of them are over 40.)

I got the feeling from the email that he was already shaken up just by being sent on a mission to see if the rumors about Shep's reappearance were true. I took his reaction as self-protection. He's been hurt before -- in ME1 he talks about it as having a few dings -- after his teen experiences with Rana, with being biotic (and therefore very different from others), etc., it isn't surprising that he'd be hurt and wary. And hurt people often lash out first.
I'm hoping though that in ME3 that Shep will have a chance to actually talk a bit about
her feelings and reactions as well. I'd like to see a real convo with the two of them acknowledging what the other has been through like in DA where Alistair asks the PC whether she's lost anyone and then apologizes when he realizes he's been so focused on his own feelings he's forgotten that he's not the only one in the room.
