Agreed, which was exactly one of my annoyances with the Dragon Age ending as well. For some reason, beside the last dialogue you'll have with Thane, asking Shepard how's SHE is doing is a big no no. No human being can go on the way she does, taking such emotional hits without any reaction what so ever. Said it before in another thread, I know she's the hero, the tough gal, the butch spectre, but please give her a 'flaw' as well.

At least with Kaidan in ME1 you could talk about events, such as losing Jenkins.

I agree with this SO much! The first thing I did was talk to Chakwas and Joker to see if I could ask them about Kaidan, and then it was off to the Citadel to badger Anderson about him. Sort of tided me over until Horizon, and I was very pleased with being able to tell Kelly that Kaidan is an incredible man, and getting to tell Joker that Horizon had reminded me of how I'd lost more than just time, but...that was it! After that I just had my femshep obsessively re-read his email, stare moodily at his picture and then force Tali and Garrus to go out with her and stand by aghast as she did shot after shot after shot. Sure, go ahead and use it, it's from the Kaidan character page on the ME2 website, it was hard to find a nice screenshot from the second game (the ingame lighting doesn't do his model proper justice, most of the time).

I have some ideas for Mass Effect fics, but I'm not much of a fiction writer.  It could be a fun exercise, though, and something to pass the time waiting for ME3. 

All ME2 has done is make me really, really eager for the third game.  SIGH.

LOL! I too lost count of how many times I ended up in the bathroom with that Turian peeing in the background!

And my fish never died because I was up there every two minutes looking at the pic and reading the e-mail, always went up to the cabin  for a bit of privacy during those brooding moments.

I want a Kaidan avatar too but I don't have DAO pc... Can't they just make a wider variety of avatars for the forum people to use? It wouldn't take very long to make them.

Did any of you have the convo with Liara where she tells you that she's the one that gave your body to Cerberus? (If not, it's on Youtube (look for Reason Liara is Hardened).

Although she might certainly be the source of the rumors that prompted Captain Anderson to send Kaiden off to investigate, I have to wonder why she didn't let at least some of the other team members know you could be alive.  At the same time I can understand why she wouldn't have told Kaiden -- particularly if FemShep flirted with her at first and then chose Kaiden.  Still....Liara never seemed to be mean spirited to me and not telling Kaiden/Ash and other team members that there was a chance for your revival seems well.....mean-spirited.   Wonder how this will play out in ME 3....

yep Kaidan was always in my team as well, first aid and medicine was very helpful and because he is a sentinel i didn't need another biotic or engineer the best other squadmate was ashley but wrex was ok as well. I just wish i could leave on virmir garrus or tali (most useless characters for me)

Don't envy us Liara fans.

We got the most screentime for our LI, but her coldness and out of character behaviour, and the fact that the romance is barely acknowledged by anyone (you get a lukewarm kiss instead of a hug, that's it) leaves the whole thing FUBAR.

The email Kaidan sends has been blasted and ridiculed, but it is something, at least. Kelly and Joker both bring up Kaidan, no one brings up Liara as having been your lover. She seems to care more about the "friend" she lost and her vendetta against the Shadow Broker than Shepard. Even the well hidden scene where she tells how "she couldn't let you go" is romance neutral, every Shepard gets it. There is zilch romance exclusive content for the Liara romance.

It's quite maddening. All of the ME1 LI appearances in ME2 were useless and insulting, but I'm beginning to think Liara's was the worst. I would have gladly taken an email rather than those useless hacking missions.

Why would she get their hopes up? Also, they would make a pull to get the body, and you can bet that they wouldn't work to rebuild it like Cerberus did. The Council and Alliance would give the remains a proper burial and memorial.



So Liara probably didn't tell anyone because she wanted Shepard back that much and didn't want Kaidan to get his hopes up that Shepard would be alive again.

I think from the convo whether you romanced her or flirted with her or not, it's clear that she always loved Shep and consider how horrid we all are about Lilith (the collector smoothie from Horizon) I'm sure there's a small part of Liara that hoped maybe you'd be grateful and fall in love with her (emotions aren't always rational) or at the very least she might subconciously want to spite Kaidan a little.

Edit:  Or what fortunesque said, god I didn't realise how horrid I could be!

She could have also been dealing with guilt and shame(she had a hard time even telling Shep)...wonder what Kaidan's reaction would have been if he had been told...

Text on start up screen says one month, Joker makes a comment,

'That's why I dont date crew' implying that they were dating rather than just one night.

Rest is interpretation, how long they had to build their relationsgip depends on how long you think the 1st game spanned over, they were flirting and stuff from the get go, I figure min 6mths would have passed through events in ME1 up to a year?  So I recon about a year all in.
