Whomever handled the ME1 lovescene needs to be put on the sceneS(yes multiple) for ME3 as well and if that team did the ones in ME2, they need to go back to ME1 and learn from their earlier work.
That scene was just so perfect compared to the stuff going on in ME2.
Completely agree with this, and the prudes who keep going on and on about no need for side boobs and quips about masturbation are pissing me off. Wonder how old these people are. <_<
Have to agree about wanting the ME1 type lovescene back for ME 3. Given Bioware's staunch defense of it in the first go-round with Fox News, it's been kinda sad to see how they've backed off of things with ME2 and DA:). I laughed my head off when I saw the Morrigan lovescene in DA:O and realized the lovescene bra covered a lot more than her usual daytime outfit.
As to prudes and age....well, prurience isn't necessarily a factor of age. I faciliate a parenting program at a local university and often hear educators and parents of all ages (including very young parents) talk about how much violence and sex there is in videogames. Yet these same folks often haven't looked at the games their kids are playing, don't always know or understand the ratings, will take their (little) kids to R-rated films or allow them to watch tv shows and movies that include more explicit lovescenes than ME1. In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics did a study that showed that kids are more likely to see violence/sex on tv/movies and videogames because the adults in their lives are playing them! As a gamer myself I try to provide a balanced perspective..... Ok....will now step off my soap box.

And to think it's such a small part of the game, well according to the devs anyway, to me it's HUGE even in its small form. It's not all about the actual romantic scenes and dialogue, it's about taking Kaidan with you where ever you go and hearing his comments or knowing he's got Shep's back. (*pre-thwap for the pervs*
And about sideboob, I'm dutch, I really don't get all the fuss since well, we pretty much don't censor much. The scene was really beautifully done, in fact the fully clothed scenes in ME2 for malesheps were a lot worse but because there was no bare skin involved it didn't stirr a riot? hahaha...silly people
Have to say though, for all the horrid underwear lovescenes in DA, Alistair's expression as he crawled over my warden was just....nom nom yummy. That sorta made up for the rest....sorta....a tiny bit.

It's all about the parents.
My viewpoint is that if you can't take the time to see what your kid is in to and what they like, then you shouldn't have kids.

Had to throw this in there...anyone read the Cerberus daily news at the start of their game...they're doing the Super Bowl(go figure)today and one of the teams has a Krogan Quarterback. Just thought it was funny. Going back to the game now.
I really need to do a ME1+ME2 run through on my xbox Live tag someday, don't have it hooked up so no news for me. Funny though

I absolutely agree; it is about how willing we are as parents to be role models to our kids. My husband and I did and do look at what our kids (and their friends) are playing and we talk about it. Of course our family motto is "Families who game together, stay together."

And who couldn't tell Reegar was voiced by the same guy who did Jayne? Honestly now. The only way it could have been more obvious is if he spouted "gorram" on the battlefield as often as Grunt likes to inform you that he's actually a very well figured asari.
What if we aren't big Firefly fans...? I sure didn't really notice. I was much more absorbed in the game at that point.
(yeah, I know, it's usually dangerous to admit that I didn't love Firefly around geeky peeps, but I can't help it, I just wasn't drawn in!)
I'm sorely tempted to do some fanfic, but lately I a) am too busy playing ME2,
Winde, loving the pictures!

Wow, I can hardly keep up with this thread anymore...
I love it, though. So many people feeling exactly how I do about Kaidan, it's nice to finally have somehwere to talk about it.

I can honestly say that I'm pleasantly surprised at all the Kaidan fans that have come out of hiding on this site and that have joined the group. I didn't think we were a minority, and it's good to see that we aren't.

As my family sat around the dining room table, with three computers, playing Mass Effect 1 and 2 and showing each other random things. :: cackle ::
Unfortunately, my family doesn't share in the Kaidan love; both being male, they off him and boink Ashley or Liara.

Males typically don't love Kaidan. My boyfriend does like him, though, he actually killed Ashley in favor of Kaidan, and didn't have a romance til ME2. But on that note, everyone keeps saying Ashley's apology email was better than Kaidan's, does anyone know what it says? I don't have a romance Ashley playthrough because I never COULD kill Kaidan, so does anyone KNOW? I wanna compare...

Tbh honest I never really liked the old boards, so much hate on there, and seemed very immature, but as I was on here for DA figured I'd check it out, liked it so much I decided to stay
All thanks to you gals of course, haven't felt this at home since the old NWN2 boards

I wouldn't be surprised if some of it wasn't backlash against the LI's that were given for ME2. Kaidan is heads above everyone of them.
I wonder if there are any ME2 Kaidan fans that have never played ME. Argument on Horizon or not he is definitely the best looking of all the LI's. I would think someone(even if they hadn't played ME) would take a look at him and think...why can't I romance him. Same thing in DAO...some people wanted to romance some of the other characters in the game(other than the LI's that were provided).
