I doubt Jennifer Hale had much to do with it.  It's down to the directors.  It's a line that seriously needs to be patched. There is so much wrong with the line.  It's fine if you're going down that romance thread but the first time you talk with the guy?  The first time you talk with the guy while your character still has a LI from the first game?

I cheated on him on a first play through. I didn't think I'd see Kaidan at all with ME2 and had anxiously anticipated Thane..Thane> all other new characters IMO lol.

But yes, all of my other Shepards will fondly and longingly look at the photograph in my captain's cabin for ME2 eternity .

He's my first gamer love, ME being the first game I ever completed!

Bioware better not do anything horrible and tragic to Kaidan unless they expect a lot of pissed off female ME fans banging on their doors!

Oh and btw, b/c of that stupid unbelievably flirty first line of convo with Jacob, I just say that line b/c I have to, in order to start talking to Jacob and pretty much ignore him for everything except the Normandy upgrade question and loyalty quest.

As far as DLC, realistically, any DLC would probably be stuff like missions, based on what they've done before. I think we have to wait for ME3. But that's ok. We can replay 1 and 2 a bit in the meantime.

If Kaidan/Liara were to be recruited at the beginning of ME3 then some things would have to be resolved between now and then. The comic books with Liara(I am assuming) continue with how she finally got possession of Shep's body and gave it to Cerberus. But I don't know if that's supposed to include how she takes down the Shadow Broker or not.

A could see them coming out with a DLC that might include a mission where you help Liara(or even play as Liara) to take down SB. I mean would they even have time to do that in ME3 since it's supposed to focus on the reapers. Same thing with Kaidan/Ash...it's evident that they are investigating Cerberus...perhaps a DLC of them going after the Illusive Man or some faction of Cerberus.

ETA: Lady Winde that's my favorite thus far.

You know, I thought I'd played ME1 to death, but now I want to do a complete playthrough again. Only prob is I'd have to play ME1 twice so that I can get to level 60 and get all the uber bonuses. I want to replay ME2 for a second time so I can get all the bonuses there, and since I have two kids, finding the time to do nothing but play computer games is a bit tough.



Still, I think I do need to play ME1 again. I wasn't really all that excited about Kaidan until he stood up to Shep on Horizon. I always thought he was cute, don't get me wrong, but he suddenly became 10,000x hotter to me.



I think the prob is that all BioWare LIs now have to compete with Carth. I absolutely adored all of the verbal sparring with him, and though Alistair comes close, you don't get much of it with the other LIs. Devs, if you're reading this thread, I want some banter with Kaidan! I want to be able to yank his chain and get him all hot and bothered, just like I could with Carth.



The reunion in ME3 had better be *seriously* charged, or else.

Re DLC:  I'm hoping Bioware had some planned in advance and recorded some VO for it when they were doing ME2.  Otherwise we'll probably get at best, something like Asteroid 57 and at worst, Pinnace Station (imo...booooring).  But even if we don't get to have a DLC mission with the ME1 LIs, I'd like to have an exchange of emails to give us some hope.  I really am clinging to Casey Hudson's statements that our ME1 LIs were being "saved" for ME3.  And I'm going to be a very unhappy woman if they are being saved for a cameo like Horizon!!!!!

Yeah, when Shepard first leaned against the dang table or whatever it was and said that.  I was furious, I didn't talk to Jacob until well after Horizon, I almost just didn't do his loyalty mission because I was so angry.  She sounds absolutely ridiculous.  I have no idea who was behind that but they made a poor decision, if it was to make us stick with Kaidan, I guess that was a job well done, but I seriously doubt that was the reason.  It seemed like the devs were trying to force Jacob on the player, which made the romance all the more off putting, not to mention, I wasn't a big fan of the guy ANYWAY.

I had no problems with Jacob. I did have problems with my Shep trying to jump him like a wild cougar. I mean I know it was two years but she WAS asleep most of that time. Sheesh.

There is http://www.masseffectsaves.com you can use to find a level 60 save game to import to ME2, and there are ways to change the character's name if you can't stand it.  I have two level 60s and a 50, but they've all romanced Kaidan, so I've been thinking of using one of these saves to have a Liara romance game.  She did save Shep's body, the least I can do is romance her on one of my games.

Hopefully he will be back in ME3...basically it was that thought that got me through ME2. Worked through the blow out on Horizon, took comfort in the email, and stayed loyal. Fought the earge to track down the doctor on the citidel. I just liked him way more then the guys in ME2. Jacob was way to huffy puffy and I hated how he put down my alien mates every chance he got.

If I was going to romance anyone in ME2, it was going to be Jacob simply because he's the human option and the alien option doesn't do much for me. Then I saw how lame Jacob was compared to angry Kaidan, and there was no contest. This is why I didn't mind the doctor bit in the e-mail. My Shep's reaction to Jacob after seeing the steamy Kaidan was pretty much what I imagine his reaction to the doc would be after seeing Shep, i.e. AS IF!!!
