In my head, Shep and Kaidan sneak around onboard the Normandy. I see my Shep as being a consummated military professional, but love makes idiots of us all. I see their situation as being similar to that of some of the characters on Battlestar Galactica.
Yeah they can't have been all that subtle, every bugger seems to know about it!

Haha in space no one can hear you scream!
It must be all the stuff Kaidan is throwing round the room with his biotic releases

I dunno, he was interesting enough to talk to - but as a squad-member I was always willing to give up his spot to a specialist, instead of a generalist/hybrid.

Kaiden kind of never made it out of ME1... ever. but with no Alenko there is no Williams... So I'm kind of forced to support him - eugh.

Not the overwhelming support we were looking for but it'll do
Tbh I actually had him in pretty much every squad, he was great for decryption and his biotics made short work of many enemies the ones I never put in my squad were Tali and Liara, they always seemed to die on me! I prefer the hybrid classes to the specialists but each to their own.

I have yet to have a game where Williams survives Virmire though. R.I.P Gunnery Chief.

Kaidan seems to appeal to the mature audience whereas the younger ones find him boring as hell, which is fine, but hopefully their voices aren't any louder than ours and Bioware brings back Kaidan just the way he was in ME1....but with a bit of character growth and depth added to him.
Actually the way they talked about people needing to understand that this was the middle arc of the story when referring to the romance makes me think that the main romances have always been Kaidan/Ash/Liara(and will always be) and that they have big plans with where they want to take it...meaning that those that stay loyal will benefit the most.
Well judging from what's going on with Liara that's most likely true. According to some other threads, she'll be getting a DLC to tie the comic conclusion to the game. Now having her as the lead character in the comic is a bit of a pet peeve for me, would love to have seen Kaidan for all sorts of reasons, but if she gets a DLC and there's nothing for Kaidan and Ash...I'm gonna be sorely disappointed.
She'll need to have her business with the Shadow Broker concluded in order to rejoin Shep...and I'm repeating myself here but I still think it's quite possible that they might release a DLC of Kaidan/Ash going after TIM and Cerberus. ME2 was the dark second half...ME3 isn't supposed to be dark...might be time to get the evil elements out of the picture before taking on the most evil of all...the reapers.
Even with the DLC though it doesn't mean we'll get romance in it...it would be nice...and I would love it but whether we had it or not I'd love to have a Kaidan DLC that lets me know everything that's been going on...the highly classified files on him intrigue me. At first I thought it was classified because of Jumo Zero but when I heard that Ash's was also classified a red flag went up.

I think it's possible that Ash/Kaidan are now Spectres.
If that's the case what are the chances of them joining up with Shep again?
I dunno, can't see it ,after all the council is trying to ignore the reaper threat and all Shep has done is repeatedly shove it in their faces would they really give more to humans than they already have? How do we know TIM couldn't get into the files or was that just what he's telling you? The set up wouldn't have worked if he'd said oh by the way you Boi is on Horizon, because don't know about you guys but I'd have been there in a shot!

There is definitely something behind that "highly classified" thing...there might even be something going on with the Alliance...all the news reports lie...they lied in ME and they lie in ME2...when they said that enlistment was down for the Alliance over the news broadcasts my radar went up. They may be up to something and Kaidan/Ash may have a big role in it.
But since you said Spectres....it's interesting that Kaidan/Ash went before the council to try to convince them that the reapers were behind all of it(after Horizon)...since that is exactly the same thing that Shepard tried to do in ME as a Spectre. I don't think Alliance officials get audiences with the council(at least not with the alien one) that easily but a Spectre sure would.

It is possible that TIM lied...I don't believe much of anything he says anyway but it is an interesting alternative. I don't think being a spectre would keep them from joining up...spectre's are free to work however they want...even Saren said something to Nihlus(even though he was lying) that the council had sent him to help. Nihlus didn't seem too disturbed by him being there after he said that...even turned his back on him...big mistake.
ETA: LOL started reading the thread and forgot why I stopped playing and came in here. In the Legion loyalty quest, Legion doesn't understand why the heretics and the geth are differing in the way they think now and Shepard says that when people are separated a long time and they come back together they don't always agree anymore (something to that affect)...really made me think that Shep was thinking about Kaidan. I know it's from my own perspective but still if you're playing faithful it really hits home.

Just doesn't seem like Spectres work together much. I agree there's def something going on with Kaidan/Ash lol maybe it's a power thing I just don't see BW making him the same rank as Shep and then giving him the same status, what makes Shep special?
I really hope we can join the Alliance again and I want a promotion! lol
You know what occured to me the other day, what if one of the people on the ship maybe Jacob or even better Joker and Dr Chakwas was an undercover operative for the Alliance who's been spying on you and if you sack Cerb off at the end they welcome you back? Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.

I remember that and I agree, totally sounds like Shep is talking about another situation, and yet another glimpse of her own feelings peeking through. Nice find.

Hmmm...I don't see either being SPECTRES. What are the odds the council would make another human SPECTRE of the tail of the first one they didn't really want and thought was crazy.
Don't know where I heard it but someone said other human spectres are mentioned in the game...something about some Asari quest somewhere...I never could find it...I assume it was one I didn't get either because of the choices I made or because I was playing Paragon.
But after the thing with Saran it's like what Bailey said when Shep asked him about a human being in his position in C-sec...he said that after Sovereign was defeated that humans were about the only race left with the numbers and strength to take over(paraphrasing) and C-sec was glad to have them. I would think that Spectre spots would have to be filled as well. Not saying humans would be the only ones to fill them but after they proved themselves and the Turian fleet was pretty much decimated the council may have had no choice.

Shep is special because she's Shep...the title didn't make her. She tells Tali's people that's she was a Commander in the Alliance but she's no longer Alliance. If your Shep doesn't get re-instated as a spectre by the council she doesn't officially hold any title at all. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if in the end Shep and the LI throw all the titles and positions out the window and ride off into the sunset together. I really want a happy ending.
