And as far as everyone knowing about you and Kaidan, of course they know. They're not going to say anything, though. Even if you weren't the commanding officer, you're still a Spectre and an N7 with bigger, badder guns than anyone else in the universe, and that's a proven fact.

Shepard was totally thinking about Kaidan here. No doubts. With our Shepards we could take it as a sad thing because we want Kaidan back, but if a Shepard wasn't loyal to their LI then it is even more applicable because they actually did move on and grow apart. And even if you didn't romance Kaidan/Ashley, then you still have that friend you lost. Meaning...I think this is one time where we aren't reading extra stuff into it--this is actually supplosed to be referring to Kaidan/AshleyMICHELLE7 wrote...
ETA: LOL started reading the thread and forgot why I stopped playing and came in here. In the Legion loyalty quest, Legion doesn't understand why the heretics and the geth are differing in the way they think now and Shepard says that when people are separated a long time and they come back together they don't always agree anymore (something to that affect)...really made me think that Shep was thinking about Kaidan. I know it's from my own perspective but still if you're playing faithful it really hits home.
That Legion conversation almost makes me as sad as when Shepard tells Joker she lost more than just time--and that's my favorite line in the whole game.

I remember that and I agree, totally sounds like Shep is talking about another situation, and yet another glimpse of her own feelings peeking through. Nice find.

Both Kaidan and Ash are devoted to the alliance, I don't see a future together without it. My Shep is also devoted to the alliance I know it depends on your background but it's in her blood (I think Ash says the same thing) I'll b really gutted if we don't get a reconcilliation with the alliance or at least the option.

The ending I got, Shep pretty much told TIM where to go and the next time she's doing things HER way. Now that could mean a lot of things, but I thinks she's definitely going back to the Alliance and/or doing whatever is necessary to stop the Reapers whether anyone agrees with her or not. Winning over the Alliance and the Council, the Quarian fleet, and so on will probably play a big part. And as soon as you're back with the Alliance Alenko will somehow get assigned to your cause I've no doubt.
I don't see him or Ash being spectres but I do see them getting N7.

I'm afraid I'm probably missing a lot of those little lines that could be referring to her ME LI. I haven't really talked to a lot of the new characters...I know that Samara said that she was like Shep in the fact that she put her duty above her feelings...which could be referring to either her putting her duty of stopping the collectors above her desire to go to Kaidan and reconcile or putting aside her feelings about Cerberus so that she can stop the collectors.
I didn't like the one where she talked about letting go with Jack. I'm sure there are others but I'm finding it real hard to talk to them...especially the ME2 LI's for Femshep...I'm on my third runthrough and still haven't been able to do their loyalty quests much less talk to them.

That's another interesting idea. I like all the different possibilities...even if they don't pan out they would make interesting fanfics to say the least.

Oh! I'd forgotten that completely! That's exactly where my mind went, as soon as she said it I was like "is she talking about Kaidan?" I guess yeah, it is perspective, but as far as I'm concerned it sounded an awful lot like it, so that's what my Shepard was thinking about.

I've done everything I can in game to sabotage Cerberus...maybe that was why they had Tali say what she did about thinking that Shepard was working undercover. Hint to the player that you could do things in game to bring down Cerberus in ME3 or a DLC.
Note: Thinking about that Tali scene...I'm not a Tali fan but I thought that Jacob came off as a real jerk in that one where he told Tali to introduce herself to the ships new A.I. With her background I thought it was unusually cruel. Just another reason for me to dislike him.

I'm beginning to wonder how many little things like that are in game that points to Sheps devotion to her ME LI...if anyone comes across any please post them. I'd like to know what I missed.

@Michelle7, I tend to fast forward through many of the convos, they're easier to digest if you read them rather than listen to them

@Eshaye , I agree with the N7 and I'm hoping that's how it plays out, the alliance would be stupid to turn away their greatest asset and of course the most famous human ever!

For some reason the captions are only working half the time on my game...out of sync at times too.

She definitely had to mean the Alliance, if the player has any say in the matter at all, which since Shepard's way usually results in choice. If we don't have the option to return to the Alliance, I'm going to be furious. I had Shepard send the data on Cerberus from one of the N7 missions to the Alliance, I like to think she will always be loyal to them. If only for Kaidan's sake... no, kidding!
I agree about the spectre thing, but yeah... N7 definitely.
