Kaidan Alenko Support Thread

My femShep went with him because it was maybe my last play through (not true) and it was something I hadn't done before. But right before the scene he says "this is what will never happen again. Us" I don't know, sounds like he means for this to be a one-time thing to me. Then on Horizon and in his email, he says that he spenbt two years moving on, and he did move on, but now that he knows Shepard is alive he starts whining about getting back together.
It's not cheating if he says it's a one-time thing (he did) and then both people move on (they did). C'mon, Bioware. If confronted about the romance in ME2, there needs to be an option to throw his words in his face.
And Tali is a great character. Kaiden was a good character. Until Horizon.

I'm not suprised Kaidan went mad on Horizon. I would too if someone I loved and for 2 years believed was dead, showed up all of a sudden and said "oh hi Kaidan, long time, how have you been". Seriously.. I wish I could punch my Shep for saying that.
Oh and that final scene with Kaidan's pic, before omega 4 relay - sooo romantic
One of Dragon Age scenarios had a wedding in the end, I want this in ME3. It shouldn't be easy, it should depend on Shep's decisions, but it has to be possible. And please, don't kill Shep, or Kaidan right after we get married
PS. Could the OP fix Kaidan's name in the subject please?
First off, on the way Shepard said, "KAIDAN, HOW'VE YOU BEEN?" I woulda been pissed off too. And the other two options I am pretty sure were just rude. But yeah, if I were Kaidan I would have just paused and been like "wait WTF, seriously?" He thought you were dead for two years and you treat him like someone you graduated highschool with and hadn't seen in awhile. Wrong. Response.
And fixing the name would be cool, kinda weird to have a support thread that doesn't have his name spelt correctly.

He was talking about the universe and how it always repeated itself as far as that line goes. He meant that Shepard and Kaidan would never be alive again to share the moment or their love again. That that wasn't going to repeat in the universe, they only got one chance. And why wouldn't he move on? Should be pine after someone he thinks is dead, the fact that it took him two years means he really cared and he wasn't whining. He was unsure of himself and trying to say he still loved her and she meant the world to him but he was conflicted because she was working for someone that he believes(and rightly so) is a terrorist organization.

Argh, I knew I shouldn't have read this thread before heading for school. Now I'm going to spend my whole art lesson doodling on a Kaidan picture, I just know it.

We'll want to see your Kaidan doodles when you get back! ^^
And, yes, I wasn't thrilled with Shep's greeting to Kaidan on Horizon either... but, to be fair, it -hasn't- been two years for her. She's been dead for most of that, so I would imagine it's all only felt like whatever time it took for her to get from the Cerberus base and to Horizon.
On the other side, I totally understand Kaidan's reaction. Especially if you did the sidequests in ME1 and spent a good chunk of the game figuring out just how ruthless Cerberus was. I'd be a bit shocked to see Shep suddenly seemingly working for them, too. What I didn't like about the Horizon meeting was that you didn't get a chance to go after Kaidan to try and explain and that he didn't wait for you to do so either, which, as a true LI, he should have. C'mon, it's Shepard - she's got a reason for EVERYTHING she does. xD

I chose the "I was, but I can't get into it" (or something like that) response. It seemed the most straight forward and all I wanted to do was explain things to him. Of course once you say CERBERUS spent the last 2 years rebuilding me...
I also wish we had the option of running up and jumping into his arms

So much wrong with that whole scene, on Shep's end that is. As if they made a generic dialogue for both Ash and Kaidan that would work for players who never went through ME1 as well. When you start ME2 without having played ME1, you get Kaidan when you create a femshep. I assume the scene ME1 players get isn't any different than the one new players get, or is it?
Because frankly Shep's response is way off. She knows Kaidan is on Horizon and yet when the Collector ship flies away there is no emotional response what so ever, he could be on there! And indeed, the How've you been is awful. It could have worked if her VO sounded softer, but no, butch as always and annoying as hell.
Silly Shep.

Absolute truth. Some people get over traumatic things like that. Not that I get joy for the suffering of others, but my femshep was pretty humbled and full of love that he... had taken her death so hard. It truly shows how much he cared for her.

I wonder if Kaidan says "I loved you" to Sheps that didn't upload ME1 saves?

But seriously, if he moved on, then finds Shep is alive and says he can't believe it, he's moved on but not actually moved on, and then the email that says he moved on but they should still get back together. Does Shepard being dead mean nothing? I haven't tried it myself, but I hear dying changes people. Is it impossible to take Kaiden's little spaz attack on Horizon as an end to the relationship and move on?

haha me too! hurray for never finishing fanfics! it's like the ball will start rolling and you're like heck yeah! let's do this! and then for some reason you see a butterfly and you stop and go chase that until a rabbit hops on by and rinse and repeat. WOO!
I will finish a story though damn it. It is going to happen! >/determined.
And thanks again for all the kind words! KaidanHe inspires me.
Yep, once I manage to not be completely addicted to the forums and ME2, I'll get back to that writing goshdarnit!

I picked the middle choice and it wasn't that bad. The "you sound angry". I think he didn't sound as pissed off like he did with the first one.

Mass Effect 3 he should at least show up to help even if he isn't a squadmate. I don't actually care if he is a squadmate or not because I never used him anyway, just chatted.

But I'm keeping a positive attitude about this for now. The ME1 characters were promised a larger role in the third game, and a conclusion to the love story started in the first. I'm expecting Bioware to keep that promise, and bring back Kaidan in an interesting and cool way.

LOL does he really? Now I have to go check that out. GO GO BROMANCE!
And lol a sexy notch atleast!
Yeah he really does have the same photo on his desk that you do on yours. And it's always Kaidan, never Ashley. Who you're romancing or who lived/died doesn't change it.
Really made me laugh when I noticed it.
There would be no reason to have his pic on the desk if you saved Ash. Probably just another oops! on Bioware's part. I still can't get over the fact that no one screams Geth! when you take Legion onto the Citadel.

I checked out that pic on Anderson's desk, if you get close to it, Kaidan's pic does pop up, but I also noticed that the picture frame was a different size and shape, so it looks weird, like the picture is cut off partially, and overlaying it at the same time. That's definitely a glitch.
