Ok so this is gonna be a long one, it’s been a long, hard day at work where they actually made me, like work!

I’ve had no Kaidan, shirtless or otherwise and hell you guys have been busy! So I apologise if there are a lot of quotes but I like the sound of my own voice too much not to chip in, that and it bumps the thread so it’s all for a good cause.

I think a lot of the LI in 2 were set up to be temporary. Garrus is just blowing off steam (which annoyed me no end) Thane is dying. Tali is pretty much going to have to go back to the fleet at some point. Perhaps they set it up that way on purpose?
Yes, I’m interested to see exactly how we will be rewarded for being faithful and punished for not, I think it would be really funny if the faithful crew got a deep meaningful romance and the unfaithful crew got dumped by both parties, call it karma *shrug*

I still can't forgive Casey H. for saying that a lot of people wil be cheating on theirs LI because the new one are sooooooooo compelling
I'm compelled to let the new LIs all die.

LOL this made me laugh, a lot.

Lol, teenzombie!
They will be back, I have to be optimistic about this, or depression will overtake. It's just a game, but it's not very fun to think they won't be around. I have the feeling some Me2 squaddies won't even get appearances *glares at the person for making Thane die*
Well someone from BioWare said their reason for keeping the ME1 LI's out of the picture was to make sure they wouldn't die, so for sure they'll be back!!
And because they couldn't die they are more likely to be on the squad than the ME2 squad mates...since Wrex couldn't return as a squad mate for ME2 because he could die in ME.
This is the hope I cling to, the devs not wanting them to be able to die gives me endless hope that they will be back, they HAVE to be!

Hmm more thinking on my part.
Bioware stated that cheating on your ME1 LI will have consequences in ME3. Could it be that Kaidan is only recruitable if you've been loyal to him?
And then having him back on the Normandy made me think some more

I would love Shepard's cabin to be like the DA camp, meaning returning to the cabin (which we all often do to feed the fish etc) could trigger a cutscene with a LI. I am sure Kaidan and Shepard have a lot to talk about to get past all events but I loved seeing NPC's taking inititiave in DA like Alistair's cutscenes back at camp.
In ME we only get that when it's time for the smexy scene, but why not make private talks etc trigger on cabin entry at times? If I were Kaidan and back on the Normandy with Shepard, you bet I would take the elevator to her 'loft' to get some answers instead of waiting at his station for her to come to him

Which also leads to a lovely 'reunion' at the Normandy scene in my head. With Shepard standing in front of the aquarium, arms crossed, lost in thought. EDI interrupting to announce Staff Commander Kaidan Alenko has boarded the Normandy.
Shepard then tells EDI to send the commander up. Scene trigger with Kaidan entering her quarters, all business and stern looking. He looks around, pans his head to the right, looks at her again. And if you've stayed loyal in ME2 and his picture is on your desk still, his head jerks to the right again and he's caught offguard by the evidence of Shepard's love.
Awkward dialogue ensues, Kaidan probably comments on the size of the cabin, the fish and whatnot, they smile a bit uncomfortably and then he's back to business and wants to settle in at his post. He states they will have to talk sometime, walks away and Shep gets a dialogue wheel. At that point you can confirm your relationship, keep the option open or end it all together by telling him the past is the past etc. Kaidan freezes at the spot for a few seconds before continuing onwards no matter the answer, just to acknowledge he heard you

I really need to stop these musings hahaha
I love this scenario, think it would be an awesome reunion.

I agree, I loved the way Alistair made the move on your warden once he was comfortable enough. Another DA influence I would love to see is more conversations between your crew. IMO it made the people in your party feel more real and less like shadows.
Also like this idea maybe it could fit after the cabin scene, Kaidan has a little time to think before he comes back to you and spills about how he could never live without you, etc etc sexy time ensues.

However, if you didn't save the council in ME1, you're never reinstated are you? Human led Council won't even talk to you I'm just reading too much into generic dialogue again.
You can still get reinstated, Anderson sorts it says something about not being bothered about putting himself on the line as they already give him a hard time.

At least he got kinda snarky when the consort started getting touchy feely with Shepard.
That's right! Again you need to have flirted with him already, otherwise he won't say a peep.
How in the hell did I miss this?! Like I needed another reason to start ME1 again!

Whaaat? Really? I could see a major DA expansion but not the sequel already! Maybe they really meant ME3.... *crosses fingers, shuts eyes tight, and wishes fervently*
LOL me too, look at the bright side, if they can churn out DA:O this soon there’s hope for ME3 as they’ve already said keeping the game engine etc the same, who knows?
